Anaferon or ergoferon which is better for a child

Ergoferon for children – antiviral, immunomodulatory agent

Ergoferon provides antiviral, immunostimulating, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory effects on the child’s body. Ergoferon for children is allowed to be used from 6 months.

Table of contents:

In the fall, when the body’s immune system weakens, Ergoferon becomes an indispensable assistant that can quickly relieve a child from the symptoms of the disease.

Composition of Ergoferon

Ergoferon belongs to homeopathic medicines. The main feature of Ergoferon is its composition. It is based on three types of antibodies: to gamma interferon, histamine and antibodies to CD4. All of them have antiviral, immunostimulating and anti-inflammatory effects on the human body. Another advantage of the medicine is its antiallergic effect.

Thanks to its antihistamine properties, Ergoferon helps eliminate swelling of the nasopharynx and reduces the inflammatory process during ARVI.

Indications for use

Ergoferon is allowed to be used for:

  • Prevention and treatment of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza viruses of various origins;
  • Use in complex therapy required to combat complications after illnesses;
  • Herpes;
  • Intestinal infections;
  • Enteroviruses;
  • Adenoviruses;
  • Tick-borne encephalitis;
  • Meningitis.

Ergoferon has a number of advantages compared to other drugs. The safety of the components protects the child’s body from harmful influences, but do not forget that the use of the drug should be started only after the appointment of the attending physician, who will select the optimal dosage taking into account the health status, age and weight of the child.

Instructions for use

The attached instructions for Ergoferon indicate the following recommendations:

  • For prevention, it is recommended to take 1 tablet once a day. The duration of treatment can be from 1 to 6 months, it will be determined by the doctor taking into account the individual characteristics of the body;
  • If primary symptoms of the disease occur, it is recommended to take 4 tablets every half hour in the first 2 hours. Then throughout the day you should take three more tablets, also calculating the time intervals. Starting from the 2nd day of treatment, the medication is taken 3 times a day, 1 tablet, until recovery occurs;
  • Infants (from 6 months) need to dissolve one tablet in a tablespoon of water. For better absorption of the medicine, it is recommended not to combine it with food.

Ergoferon is approved for use in combination with other antiviral drugs in the form of suppositories, suspensions and tablets.

The drug has a number of advantages:

  • The components included in the composition protect even small growing organisms;
  • Antiallergic properties can ease the course of the disease;
  • The drug can be used for prevention and in the later stages of the disease.

Contraindications and side effects

Like any medicine, Ergoferon has a number of contraindications:

  • The child must be at least 6 months old;
  • The use of the drug is prohibited if there is a problem with the absorption of glucose in the intestines;
  • Ergoferon is contraindicated for use if the child has lactase deficiency (due to the glucose content of the drug).

After clinical studies, it was proven that the only side effect is individual intolerance to the components contained in the medication.

Analogues and prices

The cost of Ergoferon in Russia averages 300 rubles. This medicine has a unique composition, but on the modern pharmacological market there are many analogues that have a similar effect. Particularly popular are: Anaferon, Kagocel, Ingaverin, Arbidol, Amiksin, Viferon suppositories. Below is a list of the most popular ones:

  • Kagocel is different from Ergoferon. The drug does not contain antibodies. Instructions: Contraindicated for children under 6 years of age, as well as for pregnant women. The price varies from 250 to 270 rubles per package;
  • Ingavirin. The active ingredient of the drug is vitaglutam, the spectrum of action is similar. Dosage of the drug: 7 capsules of 60 ml for children, and 90 ml for adults. Price – approximately 470 rubles;
  • Arbidol. The central component is umifenovir. Instructions: in addition to influenza and ARVI, this drug treats bronchitis and pneumonia and is used for prevention. Available in capsules and tablets, separately available for sale for children from 3 years of age. Average price rubles;
  • Amiksin. The active ingredient is tilorone. Instructions: Contraindicated for use by pregnant women and children under 7 years of age. The most expensive medicine among those listed, the cost is 700 - 750 rubles;
  • Viferon. The main active ingredient is interferon. Instructions: recommended for viral diseases, influenza, hepatitis B, C, D; infectious and inflammatory diseases of the urogenital tract and herpetic skin infections. Available in the form of candles. Average cost from 230 rubles;
  • Anaferon has an almost identical composition to Ergoferon, as well as a similar spectrum of action. Allowed for use by children from 1 month. The price is approximately 200 rubles.

Anaferon is an effective homeopathic medicine with anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. It can quickly increase immunity and also block the activity of viruses. After taking the drug, the activation of cellular immunity begins, due to which the disease goes away in a milder form. The drug promotes the production of interferon in the child’s body, which activates cytokines and blocks the manifested intoxication of the body during the course of the disease. Anaferon is approved for both adults and children from the age of one month for treatment and prevention during the epidemic of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza viruses.

Anaferon helps strengthen the immune system, allowing you to get rid of cough, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, and bronchitis in the shortest possible time. The medicine can be purchased without a prescription, in the form of lozenges, in packs of 20 and 40 pieces.

Which is better: Anaferon or Ergoferon?

Parents, in search of a suitable medicine for their child, were faced with the question of what is better: Anaferon or Ergoferon? Both drugs are common on the pharmacological market and are sold in every pharmacy. Despite the similarity in composition and spectrum of action, some differences are known.

The main difference between Ergoferon and Anaferon is their effect on the body. Due to the fact that Ergoferon contains antibodies to histamine, this drug has antihistamine (anti-allergic) properties, which are as follows:

  • After taking the drug, the spasmodic fibers of the bronchi relax, the tone decreases;
  • The capillaries located in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity are tightened, as a result of which nasal congestion decreases and swelling of the mucous membrane decreases;
  • The duration of rhinorrhea (discharge of mucus from the nasal passages) is reduced;
  • Sneezing and coughing become less intense;
  • When antibodies enter the body, they enhance the functioning of the cells responsible for protecting against viruses.

After comparing the two drugs, it should be noted that Ergoferon provides:

  • Antiviral activity of cells;
  • Helps the body fight existing diseases, and can also be used for prevention;
  • Compared to Anaferon, which gives a clear result only in the first day of the disease, Ergoferon is able to fight viruses in late treatment;
  • The drug is able to eliminate bacterial complications after viruses such as influenza, bronchitis, pneumonia, meningitis;
  • Ergoferon prevents the development of airway edema and bronchospasm due to its antiallergic effect.

It is worth noting that Anaferon is prescribed to children from the age of one month, Ergoferon - from 6 months. Both drugs described are safe to use in the fight against viral infections, as well as for prevention, each of which has its own advantages. The use of the drug should be started only after the appointment of the attending physician, who will select the appropriate dosage based on data on the child’s health condition.

Ergoferon or Anaferon – which is better?

Antiviral immunomodulators are popular among prescriptions for sick children, since side effects are rare, they are few in number, there are no contraindications, and the active substances based on interferon are not toxic. Many parents are interested in whether their child can be given Anaferon and Ergoferon, which of these two drugs is preferable? After all, their composition is similar; Ergoferon, like Anaferon, belongs to the same pharmacological group of drugs.

Description of Anaferon

This drug is popular and has earned the trust of many users; it has been in high demand for more than five years in a row, especially during periods of seasonal viral exacerbations. Shows the following effects:

  • Inhibits the reproduction of the virus, prevents the development of pathogens, eliminates the course of the pathological process
  • It has a stimulating effect on the immune system through enhanced synthesis of a structural protein - interferon, which prevents the spread of viral agents.

This medication is a homeopathic remedy that helps fight influenza, colds, and adenovirus. For off-label use it is prescribed to prevent encephalitis, herpes and herpes zoster. As soon as the patient suspects the manifestation of the first symptoms of a viral infection, you need to start taking the drug immediately. The sooner the patient starts taking the medication, the sooner he will recover. On the first day, you should take a tablet every 30 minutes for two hours, and then switch to the standard dosage - 1-2 tablets 3 times a day, depending on age.

Description of Ergoferon

It differs from its analogue in that it has not only antiviral activity, but also antihistamine. That is, the drug helps not only fight the pathogen itself, but also eliminates negative symptoms - swelling of the mucous membrane, runny nose, sneezing. The drug is prescribed for the treatment of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and complicated viral diseases accompanied by the addition of pathogenic microflora.

Both analogues are similar in that they contain similar active ingredients - purified antibodies to interferon gamma. When these antibodies reach the bloodstream, they begin to stimulate the production of protective structural proteins. Based on the available official clinical data, both medications exhibit strong activity against viral diseases, while improving immune responses.

What is the difference between medicines

The difference lies in the composition. If Anaferon includes antibodies to gamma interferon, then Ergoferon has antiallergic inclusions and purified antibodies to CD-4 cells. If we compare the composition of these two products, Anaferon clearly loses in effectiveness. Differences in effect:

  • Ergoferon has a stronger antiviral effect; it not only strengthens the immune system, but also activates the action of DM cells, which promotes a speedy recovery
  • Anaferon is effective only in the first days of the onset of diseases, unlike its analogue, which always acts and also helps fight bacteria
  • Many people often experience allergic reactions due to acute respiratory diseases, so Ergoferon is preferable to use, especially for children, because children more often suffer from allergies
  • Anaferon is prescribed from the age of one month, and its analogue - only from three months. Both medications have been tested and shown to be effective antiviral agents. Which one should you choose? The choice of medicine should only be made by a doctor; he can prescribe one remedy or several.

So it is better to choose between two medications

If you choose between these two drugs, it is better to give preference to Ergoferon, since this drug has a more advanced composition. It can be prescribed not only for colds, but also in the presence of adenoviruses, coronaviruses, mononucleosis, herpes zoster, meningitis, enterovirus, chickenpox and encephalitis. There are only two forms of release - tablets for oral administration and for sublingual resorption.

In pediatrics, Anaferon is more often prescribed, as it is indicated for use from an earlier age. It is also in greater demand than its analogue, because it has a children's release form and its manufacturer is engaged in more extensive advertising. In the minds of many citizens there is a clear idea that often advertised medications are more effective, but in fact the effectiveness in both cases is approximately the same. It is also impossible to deny the fact that homeopathy does not bring results in treatment for many.

Ergoferon or Anaferon?

Colds are a social problem that annually leads to temporary loss of ability to work. The population does not experience a shortage of antiviral drugs. It is more correct and also more economical to prevent the disease by stimulating the immune system than to deal with symptoms that have already appeared. Anaferon and ergoferon should be compared as the most commonly purchased. They are often classified as homeopathic medicines, but is this really so?

There are contraindications, use only after consulting a doctor.

What is the difference between Anaferon and Ergoferon?

Both drugs belong to the antiviral drugs from the group of interferon inducers.

Anaferon (homeopathic medicine)

Effects declared by the manufacturer:

  • Inhibits the reproduction and development of the virus in the body.
  • Stimulates the immune system by activating the production of interferon, thereby accelerating the healing process.

It is advisable to use it according to a special scheme from the moment the first symptoms appear - the difference between anaferon and ergoferon. It is used for viral diseases, including herpes simplex and herpes zoster.

Ergoferon

The difference between ergoferon and anaferon is its antiallergic activity, that is, the recognition of pathogenic agents. Relieves nasal congestion and swelling of the mucous membrane. In addition to ARVI, it is prescribed for bacterial complications.

Similar properties: both drugs contain purified antibodies to interferon and belong to the group of interferon inducers.

What is the difference between Ergoferon and Anaferon?

Ergoferon is a fairly new drug on the pharmaceutical market. Additionally contains antibodies to histamine, which have:

  • relaxing effect on the bronchi,
  • reduce the intensity and duration of rhinorrhea, nasal congestion,
  • eliminate coughing and sneezing.

Ergoferon also contains antibodies to CD-4 cells, which in turn trigger the work of cells that provide specific antiviral protection. Its great effectiveness is noted. More pronounced antiviral properties are due not only to the stimulation of interferon, but also to the activation of specific protection.

Ergoferon is also active when taken later, and also helps prevent bacterial infections. ARVI can provoke an exacerbation in people prone to allergies. In this case, the antiallergic effect of the drug is relevant and does not allow bronchospasm and swelling of the respiratory tract mucosa.

A special children's form of anaferon is prescribed from the age of one month, ergoferon is indicated from 6 months. Studies indicate the effectiveness and safety of both products.

Anaferon and ergoferon contain ultra-low doses of antibodies; the technology for obtaining ultra-diluted solutions is similar to homeopathy. Despite this, they have specific pharmacological activity, namely a regulatory effect on the production of interferon, which allows them to be classified as immunopharmacological drugs.

Ergoferon or Anaferon, which is better for prevention?

Anaferon: for preventive purposes, 1-3 months, 1 tablet (according to the instructions). Cost, rub.

Ergoferon: preventive use for 1-6 months, 1-2 tablets (according to the instructions). Cost, rub.

Both drugs are made in Russia and are combined with other symptomatic and antiviral agents.

The antiviral and immunomodulatory effect of anaferon determines its use equally for prevention and treatment. For preventive purposes, it ensures constant readiness of cells for the synthesis of interferon, the body is in constant readiness.

Ergoferon has a greater antiviral effect, as well as an anti-inflammatory and antihistamine effect.

Conclusions:

Ergoferon or Anaferon: which is better? From the studies conducted it follows: anaferon is preferable for preventive and therapeutic purposes, ergoferon is the drug of choice for the treatment of ARVI, especially in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and increased allergic readiness.

Comments

Ergoferon does not help the immune system cope with the disease, it can cause diarrhea, and not only a rash and nausea; in general, it is not a cure - but a pest to the body.

Ergoferon didn’t help me either. The pharmacy recommended it as the most powerful antiviral agent at the moment. Getting sick was not part of my plans, it was an urgent business trip. Therefore, I was ready to pay any money, the main thing is that it helps. I took it the next morning and didn’t feel any better, took a second one, and by lunchtime I completely collapsed (these pills need to be dissolved). This is the feeling. that the more I took, the more viruses spread throughout the body.

Yes, the DV must definitely be greater for there to be at least some effect. Because when recalculating the amount of the active substance, it turns out that the tablet may not even contain one whole molecule of it.

I used ergoferon when I fell ill with ARVI. I don’t understand why, but the drug didn’t work. I was sick for more than a week, and the temperature lasted for a very long time. Maybe the reason is the amount of active substance, which is extremely small? Maybe we need more of it?

What is better anaferon or ergoferon for children

Many parents once have to wonder what is better Anaferon or Ergoferon for children. Both drugs are now quite widespread on the market and are freely sold in pharmacies. Both can be prescribed by pediatricians. However, they still have certain differences. And this must be taken into account by responsible mothers and fathers.

Anaferon or Ergoferon for children, as a rule, is used during colds. If a baby has a runny nose, cough and fever, the doctor often prescribes these medications. Moreover, you may be prescribed either one of them or the other, since the effect of the drugs is largely similar.

So that you do not get confused, we focus on one important point. According to experts, Anaferon for children is effective if it is necessary to prevent the development of the disease. This drug is intended primarily for prevention. When you need to protect your baby from colds in the autumn-winter period, it is indispensable. However, Anaferon is not suitable for treatment.

If you study the instructions for using Ergoferon, you will notice that it is recommended to use it specifically in the fight against colds and viral diseases. And it’s not surprising, because Ergoferon is considered more potent and effective than Anaferon. It helps even when the first of the drugs discussed above is useless.

Of course, no medications should be given to a child without consulting a pediatrician. Even if you have carefully studied the instructions for both drugs and decided that they are ideal for you, it is still unacceptable to take risks. Do not use Anaferon and Ergoferon for children until you receive permission from a specialist.

It is important to note that both drugs under consideration are considered absolutely safe and suitable for treating very young children. The only contraindication to their use is the body's increased sensitivity to the active components of the drugs. However, parents should remember that just because a drug is safe for a child does not mean it will help. It is permissible to take these medications only according to indications - the decision on the advisability of their use lies entirely with the pediatrician.

Anaferon and Ergoferon: use in children with ARVI and influenza

Of course, you want your baby to be healthy and active, so you try to ensure that he eats more fresh fruits and vegetables and gets enough protein.

Moreover, with the beginning of rainy and windy autumn, the urgency of the problem increases, and then remains so throughout the winter and early spring. After all, protecting your child from virus infection and hypothermia is your main task during this period. Vitamins and medicines are used to strengthen the immune system.

Read our article about how to choose a vitamin complex for your child.

Well, if the baby does get sick, then you try to choose the most effective and safe drug. Is not it?

For example, one of our previous articles discussed some antiviral drugs for the treatment and prevention of ARVI and influenza in children.

However, in this material we will talk about two more antiviral drugs with immunostimulating properties: Anaferon and Ergoferon. They are somewhat different from other drugs because they have a completely different mechanism of action.

Let's talk about how these drugs fight acute respiratory viruses, as well as studies with the most interesting results.

Read more about how to distinguish influenza from ARVI (acute respiratory viral infection) in our article.

Anaferon and Ergoferon: where do they “come from”?

The drugs are products of the Russian pharmacological company Materia Medica Holding, which produces both medicines and dietary supplements (about 70 items).

The development of Anaferon and Ergoferon is based on some principles of homeopathy:

* The active substance is highly diluted to ultra-small doses, and the water “remembers” what was once in it.

* When the drug is taken by a healthy person, symptoms of the disease are supposed to be caused: like is treated with like.

However, official pharmacotherapy, which is based on clear evidence of the effectiveness and safety of drugs (evidence-based medicine), is skeptical about the principles of homeopathy.

Anaferon and Ergoferon: stages of production and mechanism of action

First, rabbits are injected with recombinant (artificially synthesized) interferon. Then, antibodies (proteins) to human interferon gamma, the main active ingredient of both drugs, are obtained from the animal’s blood plasma.

Next, the antibodies are diluted in the ratio: 1 part antibody/99 parts aqueous-alcohol solution. It turns out that the amount of active substance in one gram of the drug is negligible. Therefore, it is impossible to confirm or refute its presence in the drug using existing methods.

Whereas the manufacturer claims that it is ultra-low doses that stimulate the body’s cells to produce their own interferon, which is able to fight all viruses: influenza, adenoviruses and others. In addition, from the instructions of the drugs it follows that antibodies to interferons also improve the functioning of the immune system as a whole.

Meanwhile, official science has not yet fully elucidated the mechanism by which antibodies to interferons have exactly this effect.

Anaferon and Ergoferon - dietary supplements or homeopathy?

Despite the principles underlying the action of both drugs, the manufacturer did not indicate in the official instructions that they belong to homeopathic remedies or dietary supplements.

That is, it is believed that Anaferon and Ergoferon are drugs with experimentally proven effectiveness, which we will discuss below.

At the same time, Anaferon was initially positioned as a homeopathic drug. However, in 2009, the manufacturer revised new data on its mechanism of action, and then removed this item from the official instructions.

What is the difference between Anaferon and Ergoferron?

Anaferon contains antibodies to human interferon gamma, which are the main active ingredient of both drugs.

Whereas Ergoferon contains a combination of antibodies to human interferon gamma, antibodies to CD4 cells (a type of lymphocyte - white blood cells) and antibodies to histamine (involved in allergic reactions).

It turns out that Erogoferon has a wider spectrum of action: it stimulates the immune system and the production of its own interferon, and also reduces the severity of allergic reactions and inflammation.

Efficiency and safety

Numerous tests of both drugs have been carried out, the results of which have been published in the form of articles in medical scientific publications: “Pediatrics”, “Children’s infections”, “Pediatric pharmacology” and others.

Anaferon

In 2008, the journal Pediatrics published one of the latest articles on the results of five years of using Anaferon in children for the treatment and prevention of influenza and ARVI.

The conclusions are based on studies conducted at several research centers in Russia:

* Recovery and disappearance of symptoms of the disease occurs twice as fast, even with the development of complications (for example, with stenosing laryngotracheitis).

* The drug practically does not cause side effects.

* When taking Anaferon prophylactically, children either did not become infected with respiratory viruses or suffered the disease easily.

Ergoferon

A review article was published in the journal Children's Infections in 2014. It summarizes some domestic and foreign materials on the use of Ergoferon in children for the treatment of influenza and ARVI.

* The drug is effective against the influenza A virus. At the same time, it acts on new mutated (modified) strains that have developed resistance to Remandadine and oseltamivir (the active substance of Tamiflu).

* Symptoms of the disease decrease on the second day of illness, and recovery occurs twice as fast.

* Can be used in children with bronchial asthma and other obstructive pulmonary diseases (for example, obstructive bronchitis).

*No significant side effects were identified.

* There is a positive result in the treatment of community-acquired bacterial pneumonia, which complicated the course of ARVI or influenza.

It would seem that these two drugs are ideal for the treatment and prevention of ARVI and influenza in children.

However, unfortunately, all the principles of evidence-based medicine were not always followed during the trials of both drugs. For example, in some studies an insufficient number of subjects took part (fewer people).

And yet, despite this, Anaferon and Ergoferon received patents in Russia, and the active substance of Anaferon (antibodies to interferon gamma) was patented in the USA in 2009.

Application

Anaferon is prescribed to children from the age of one month, Ergoferon - from six months.

Reviews

Quite contradictory: some write that these drugs are ineffective, others, on the contrary, argue that there is no best way to combat any viruses. However, there is no information about the development of significant side effects in children.

As you can see, there are still many questions regarding the mechanism of action of Anaferon and Ergoferon. It is impossible to answer them without conducting additional independent studies in accordance with all international standards for drug testing. This is exactly what scientists should do.

By the way, if we talk about evidence, there are medicines for which there have not been many large controlled studies - for example, Nitroglycerin. However, nevertheless, the drug remains an effective remedy for relieving an attack of angina pectoris.

About Viferon, Anaferon, Genferon, Ergoferon and others like them.

Interesting discussions

Comments

We have a doctor, on the contrary, who likes to prescribe for the prevention of all good things. Homeopathy is always on the list. but we were sick for 2 weeks and still are sick, what with the homeopathic. drugs or not. I tell the doctor that “dada, they drank”, but I myself haven’t bought it for a long time.

I say almost the same thing))))

I can’t say for sure about Anaferon, I haven’t encountered it. But Ergoferon was also recently prescribed to us for ARVI. Prescribed by our local pediatrician. After her visit, I called another paid doctor, who, in principle, is very famous in our city. He looked at my daughter and told me to completely forget about Ergoferon, since it belongs to the category of homeopathic remedies, and it is strictly forbidden to try homeopathy on a child. Yes, I myself am personally against it. He advised me to avoid antiviral drugs altogether. According to him, they are contraindicated for such small children.

I really don’t understand why there are no such detailed descriptions for more productive work of drugs? In my opinion, the doctor should warn every mother about such little things. But no, we must use experiments on our own children to develop the most optimal methods of drug treatment. And about Viferon. I didn’t risk putting it on my child at all. The list of side effects scared me.

And you know, in Russia, in general, everything is treated immediately. In the West, they take a pill only when they have a headache, a painkiller. Prevention helps to avoid other things. With us, everyone is treated immediately. This is an industry after all. All these viferons and other medications. The pharmacy business is very developed, look how many pharmacies we have, how many people are buying everything. It’s profitable, they lobby for it.

I completely agree with you. This is all the specifics of our medicine. First you need to learn how to prevent the disease, and then fight it. Out of curiosity, I again asked our local doctor’s opinion about Viferon, only the most positive reviews. She clearly has her own interests with the suppliers of these candles. I haven’t told her my opinion, the conclusions have been drawn. I’m not going to harm my child’s health with Viferon.

Lately we’ve been taking chamomile for ARVI. We get sick exactly as much as with Viferon)

“Ferons” are different from “ferons”. Yes, indeed, among them there are immunomodulators, and their effectiveness is a different story.

But most of what you listed (anaferon, for example). What homeopathy is is clearly described in Wikipedia. In short, it’s a dummy, a placebo.

Therefore, there is no reason to be afraid that they will harm the body (but they will also help as much as you believe in them).

I also faced the same problem - since birth we (Mishutka) have been prescribed Viferon suppositories, Gripferon in the nose, and Kirill-Anaferon. And even now we have chickenpox, and the pediatrician again “give me Viferon,” I am silent, I don’t give anything and I don’t tell her anything. But! in January we became very ill; Misha had a fever for three days (the limit was 40.3 when we went to the children's infectious disease hospital in an ambulance). For several days, pediatricians, emergency doctors, nurses, and pediatric emergency doctors came to us several times a day. And everyone agrees: never give your child such drugs or other immunostimulants. My husband and I have already intuitively felt this for a long time. So I stopped buying Viferon and similar drugs.

and thanks for the information about viferons and their incompatibility with neutropenia. This is exactly our case. I just don’t know why not a single pediatrician told me about this(

When mine got sick a couple of times, I saved myself with arbidol. It seems to me that among antiviral drugs one of the most effective drugs.

I have not given and do not give ferons. I also consider them a great evil (((I am for natural products and development)) And if you have neutropenia, are they not given exemptions from vaccinations?

And the pediatrician told us (when we were sick with ARVI) that all these pherons suppress the work of our own immunity, and it must fight on its own. And she didn’t make an appointment, although I asked. And the temperature should not be reduced to 38.5 for the same reason. I confess, I was already starting to shoot down 38, I feel sorry for the child. Thanks for the info, I'll know now.

I'm in awe of her myself. When communicating with other mothers, I compare what kind of doctors they have, that they almost conduct experiments on children, and I’m crazy about her. She is my mother’s friend, my mother’s neighbor, and she also treated me as a child. And they got to her simply by her place of residence, her area. I didn't even know she worked there.

I advise everyone to read it! In almost every post I come across advice from mothers who themselves give immunomodulators and advise others to take them. I hope that after reading this, many will rethink the advisability of taking these medications. For those who have little time.

We went to the commission at the clinic and the next day my daughter fell ill (((Today is the second day we have a runny nose, watery eyes. I coughed a couple of times. What should we give the child in our case, Anaferon tablets or Genferon suppositories.

Girls, please tell me what you give your children to prevent diseases when adapting to kindergarten? I, believing that we have strong immunity, did not give anything, but here. We get sick too often. We also need to somehow support our immunity.

This is the kit my doctor prescribed for me. Moreover, at the same time, Genferon suppositories are administered vaginally, and Viferon is administered rectally. We found leukocytes in the smear. I have constant thrush, consistently once a month and for a long time. Nothing helps. Maybe this is it.

The child went to kindergarten and fell ill on the 3rd day. What to do when he recovers and goes there again? I think maybe he should be given Anaferon at first, or do many people also write Viferon? A.

Is this the same thing? I installed Genferon but I don’t have it anymore... is it possible to use Viferon?

Reviews and opinions of doctors about Viferon Viferon is the most popular drug prescribed for acute respiratory viral infections in children (and also used without prescription), so I was especially interested in it. The following interesting information was discovered on the Internet about.

Girls, how do you feel about ferons? Viferon, genferon, gripferon, etc. Is there any benefit?

Girls, hello! I looked at the instructions and they seem to be the same, which is better, what do you think? The paid pediatrician prescribed us Genferon Light, and the local doctor prescribed Viferon, hence the question!

Girls, has anyone taken Anaferon during pregnancy? 3 days temperature 38 does not subside, cough. I called a doctor, she prescribed Anaferon. only the contraindications say that it is not recommended to use during pregnancy. So I don’t know whether to accept it or not?

What is the difference between Ergoferon and Anaferon, what is the difference?

What is the difference between Ergoferon and Anaferon?

Many patients ask a very legitimate question: “What is the difference between Anaferon and Ergoferon?” After all, both drugs are similar in composition and belong to the same drug group. To answer this accurately, each remedy should be examined in detail.

Anaferon

Anaferon is a popular, trustworthy antiviral drug. Timely administration of the medicine helps to quickly eliminate the negative manifestations of the flu or cold. Anaferon has two effects:

  • Blocks the reproduction of viruses and inhibits their development in the body, reducing the intensity of the pathological process.
  • Stimulates the immune system, provoking the production of its own protective proteins - interferons. This helps to quickly cope with the source of the disease – the viral agent.

Anaferon is a homeopathic drug that has not only an antiviral, but also an immunomodulatory effect. The medicine is effective for viral diseases - influenza and parainfluenza, adenovirus infection and others. It can be used to treat encephalitis, herpes rashes, and herpes zoster.

Treatment with Anaferon should begin at the first symptoms. The most effective is a special regimen, according to which in the first two hours you need to give the drug every 30 minutes, then moving on to the standard three times a day.

Ergoferon

Before saying which is better – Anaferon or Ergoferon, let’s consider the main effects of the latter. Ergoferon not only has high antiviral activity, but also produces an antiallergic effect. The drug activates the immune system, helping it to promptly recognize and eliminate pathogenic agents. The antihistamine effect of Ergoferon allows you to get rid of nasal congestion, relieve swelling of the mucous membrane and reduce the intensity of inflammatory processes during ARVI. The drug is prescribed for colds and acute respiratory viral infections; it can be used for severe bacterial complications of viral infections.

Similar properties

The composition of Anaferon and Ergoferon is very similar. The active component of both drugs are antibodies to interferon gamma, specially purified. Once in the bloodstream, antibodies stimulate the synthesis of these very protective proteins.

Many clinical trials have been conducted that have proven the high effectiveness of Anaferon and Ergoferon. Both drugs fight viruses, stimulating the immune system when it is weakened.

How are the drugs different?

Ergoferon is a fairly new drug that has recently appeared on the pharmaceutical market. What is more effective – Anaferon or Ergoferon? Despite similar functions, the drugs differ in action. Ergoferon contains antibodies to histamine - this component has a pronounced anti-allergic effect, consisting of the following:

  • The spasmodic smooth fibers of the bronchi are relaxed and their tone is smoothed.
  • The increased permeability of small vessels - capillaries located in the nasal mucosa - is reduced. This helps relieve nasal congestion and reduces swelling of the mucous membrane.
  • The duration of rhinorrhea (the appearance of mucous discharge from the nasal passages) is reduced.
  • The intensity of pathological symptoms - sneezing and coughing - decreases.

The difference between Ergoferon and Anaferon is that Ergoferon contains a unique immunotropic component - affinity purified antibodies to CD-4 cells. Once in the body, antibodies activate the work of cells responsible for specific protection against viruses.

The effectiveness of Ergoferon is higher than that of Anaferon. In addition to pronounced antiviral activity, the drug can solve the following problems:

  • Ergoferon has an enhanced antiviral effect. It not only activates nonspecific immunity by stimulating the production of gamma interferons, but also increases specific protection by forcing CD cells to act. They help the body quickly recognize the virus and eliminate it more effectively.
  • Anaferon affects viruses only on the first day of the disease, but Ergoferon is also good for late treatment. In addition, taking the drug helps to avoid bacterial complications of influenza (bronchitis, pneumonia, meningitis).
  • In people prone to allergies, an exacerbation of the process may occur against the background of ARVI. Ergoferon has an antiallergic effect, preventing the development of bronchospasm and swelling of the airways.

Anaferon can be used in children from the age of one month, Ergoferon is allowed from three months. Both drugs are safe antiviral agents that have undergone a number of clinical trials, where their high effectiveness has been proven.

Analogues of children's Anaferon

Anaferon is used in childhood as an antiviral agent, which has a stimulating effect on the immune system. But sometimes it needs to be replaced with another drug. What medications are suitable for this and can be used in children?

How it works and when to use it

Anaferon is a product of the domestic company Materia Medica and is produced in tablet form. They are available for children and also for adults. The difference between such agents is in the dilution of the active substance, which is antibodies to human interferon gamma. Children's Anaferon is prescribed for the treatment or prevention of viral infections such as chicken pox, influenza, rotavirus infection, parainfluenza, enterovirus infection, viral tick-borne encephalitis, ARVI and others.

Ergoferon - analogues

During cold and flu epidemics, it is important to take measures to prevent infection and improve immunity. Ergoferon and its analogues will help cope with a runny nose, fever and other signs of illness. Such drugs are quite effective means that quickly eliminate all manifestations of the disease.

How to replace Ergoferon?

This medicine has antiviral and antihistamine properties, due to which it simultaneously destroys the virus and allergic manifestations of diseases, while at the same time activating the body's immune defense. It is prescribed during influenza and ARVI epidemics for children and adults in order to prevent infection. The main disadvantage of the drug is its high cost, which forces patients to look for a replacement.

Cheaper drugs that would completely match the properties of the drug have not been developed. However, Ergoferon still has some analogues, and they are represented by the following list:

You need to understand that the medicine cannot be completely replaced, so it can be used in therapy only after examination by a doctor.

Which is better – Kagocel or Ergoferon?

This medicine also has an antiviral effect, but it is more pronounced, which is why Kagocel is recommended even for the most severe viral diseases. But the drug is allergenic and therefore prohibited for women (pregnant and lactating), as well as persons under six years of age.

Ergoferon or Anaferon – which is better?

Anaferon also has the ability to inhibit the activity of viruses and activate the immune system. In general, both drugs have similar effects on the body, but this is achieved by different active substances. The use of Anaferon allows you to quickly relieve cold symptoms, such as cough, lacrimation, runny nose, as well as signs of intoxication. The combined use of Anaferon with antipyretic drugs can reduce the need for taking the latter. Children can be prescribed tablets starting at six months.

Which is better - Ergoferon or Viferon?

At the moment, this analogue is the cheapest product. Its main difference is in the dosage form. It is produced in the form of candles. Viferon is able to cope not only with colds, but also with viral diseases such as plasmosis, hepatitis and herpes. Therefore, it is often recommended when a complex effect on the body is necessary.
