Bactroban reviews

Intranasal ointment Baktroban 2% - reviews

for inflammation on the face

Disadvantages: possible burning sensation

I visited a cosmetologist and finally asked for advice from a knowledgeable person on how to properly treat inflammation on the face, which many people probably experience from time to time.

Table of contents:

The cosmetologist recommended applying Bactroban ointment once a day.

Expensive, but it helped

Disadvantages: Little and expensive

This summer I had the chance to suffer from a not very pleasant disease - vulgar impetigo (the name alone is worth it)! Caused by staphylococcus and streptococcus. First, one small pimple appeared on my stomach - I didn’t even pay much attention to it.

The cream is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Suitable for children from 1 year

Pros: Quickly completed the task. Economical consumption. Suitable for children from 1 year. There were no adverse reactions

Disadvantages: Possibly price

Bactroban is a broad-spectrum antibiotic in the form of a cream. It is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections of the skin alone or in combination with other ointments or creams. In our case, he was just appointed.

Russia, INFA EVERYONE

the only thing that helped us

Disadvantages: small volume

It’s probably worth starting a little from afar, so that it is clear what exactly this ointment helped with and what treatment was carried out before it. Seven years ago, my husband began to develop boils. At first it was rare, 2-3 a year, then that was it.

cures sores in the nose in a couple of days

Pros: Good effect

We are faced with a problem with our baby. They brought me a runny nose from the sea. But that's part of the problem. He started picking his nose every day until it bled. The pain was so bad that I couldn’t breathe at night. Something was needed.

Helps get rid of staphylococcus in the nose in 7 days

Advantages: Helped quickly get rid of staphylococcus in the nose, possible during pregnancy

During a partner birth, the partner needs to take a staphylococcus nasal test with him. My husband will go with me to the birth. When tested, he was diagnosed with staphylococcus. My gynecologist prescribed Bactroban ointment to smear on.

Broad-spectrum antibacterial ointment

Advantages: Wide range of applications, results, local action

Hello to all review readers! Today he is talking about Bactroban ointment. Perhaps there are cheap analogues, however, it was prescribed to us, we bought it, and now it takes its place in the medicine cabinet. The reason for the purchase was long-term non-healing wounds in the nose.

helps

Advantages: effective, can be used even by small children

Disadvantages: expensive, very small tube

I bought this ointment on the recommendation of friends who have small children like me. I had never heard of her before. This is an antibiotic for topical use. It can be used in children from birth, mine is the youngest.

Quick salvation from hellish torment.

Advantages: Effective ointment for inflammation.

Disadvantages: Expensive. There are restrictions.

Not long ago I had a problem called “otitis externa.” It all started with a small scratch in the ear, which didn’t bother me much, but ended with inflammation and swelling throughout the entire ear and the adjacent part of the head.

Unclear, but expensive

Advantages: well, I don’t know, I haven’t met them

Disadvantages: lack of effect, high cost

Once again, chasing my daughter’s catarrhal sinusitis (this is an inflammation of the ethmoidal labyrinth, not reaching the maxillary sinuses), the doctor prescribed us Bactroban 2% intranasal ointment. Like a normal mother and a good patient, I decided to buy it and try it. Bactroban.

effective antibiotic ointment

Disadvantages: not cheap

In the summer, I had to consult a dermatologist, because my son had strange ulcers-wounds on his skin that quickly spread throughout his body. I even suspected lichen. At the appointment, the doctor is without.

Helped with ear infections

Last year I apparently had a blowout in my ear, and as a result I got some kind of inflammation in my ear. Of course, I immediately went to the doctor, who suggested that most likely it was an atheroma - a cyst of the sebaceous gland.

Wonderful ointment with anti-inflammatory effect

Advantages: Excellent ointment with an antibacterial effect, quickly and efficiently has a therapeutic effect

Disadvantages: Not cheap, more than 400 rubles

Bactroban ointment exerts its effect due to the content of the antibacterial agent mupirocin. This is an antibiotic that kills microorganisms in large quantities, and in small quantities immobilizes and prevents their pathological effect on the macroorganism. The ointment is applied externally to protect the affected area.

Essential in a first aid kit

Advantages: Helped the child, did not have to remove the lump, suitable for children under one year old.

A 14-day-old child has a lump under his arm. Having called a doctor to our home, we were diagnosed with a boil in the left armpit. I urgently need to see a surgeon to remove the lump. I was alarmed by this diagnosis because...

For all occasions.

Pros: Does the job perfectly.

I discovered Bactroban nasal ointment in my medicine cabinet by accident. When I left the hostel, I picked up my things and grabbed my first aid kit. When I arrived home, I decided to see what medications I had left and found it in my first aid kit.

Anti-staphylococcus ointment saved me from a completely different problem

Advantages: Helps against staphylococcus and acne

Disadvantages: Price, small volume

I'll tell you my story of how I got acquainted with this drug. I lived my life, everything was fine. From time to time I only suffered from acne. Not much. So, this spring something bad happened to me. Something started to appear on my face.

good ointment

Pros: Good ointment for everything

This ointment was initially prescribed to my cat by a veterinarian. Since my Sphynx cat sometimes gets a swollen pimple like a mosquito bite, it can be at the site of a scratch when it gets dirty or if it eats something forbidden.

just a godsend in the fight against boils and other ulcers

Pros: Helps very quickly

Disadvantages: high price

Ointment for external use "Bactroban" is made on the basis of an antibiotic that acts locally and does not penetrate the blood. Its use is completely safe even for small children, which I have personally verified. Four years ago at mine.

Russia, Nizhny Novgorod

A strong antibiotic against inflammation. Do you need heavy artillery for your skin?

Advantages: good antibiotic against severe inflammation

Disadvantages: a little expensive, addictive, required by doctor's prescription

Bactroban has been in my medicine cabinet for a year and a half now. Oddly enough, it was recommended to me by an ENT doctor, because I had sinusitis and rashes appeared on my skin against the background of a weakened immune system, which did not go away. I didn't receive treatment then.

Nasal ointment

Disadvantages: Price, small volume

Bactroban nasal ointment is used when bacteria caused by staphylococcus occur in the nasopharynx. It has a very small volume, 3 grams, and a price of about 600 rubles. Bactroban ointment is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is applied into the nasopharynx easily, using.

Reviews from doctors about Bactroban

I use the drug in my practice and it hasn’t let me down yet, especially with boils on the nasal vestibule it helps tremendously.

The price of the drug, I think, is too high for the small volume of the drug.

It also works well in terms of flora in the nose if an excessive degree of presence of staphylococcal and streptococcal flora is detected.

I use Bactroban ointment in my practice as a local antibacterial agent. The drug is well tolerated, it is a local antibiotic, so use according to the regimen within a short time to avoid addiction to the components of the drug.

It is not recommended to combine with other external drugs.

A good drug with an antibacterial, bactericidal effect, it is a local antibiotic. The drug is well tolerated.

Allergic reactions occur if there is individual intolerance.

Patient reviews of Bactroban

My child’s runny nose did not go away for a long time. We tried many medications and traditional methods of treatment. The child could not sleep at night. My nose was constantly running. A neighbor, a general practitioner, recommended Bactroban ointment, a local antibiotic. And a miracle happened. A few days later the disease subsided. The ointment does not cause discomfort and is intended even for small children. But it's addictive. Cannot be used for a long time. But this is not necessary. It works quickly and helps a lot.

For a long time I suffered from the problem of rashes and wounds in the nose, on the mucous membrane, which either dried up and healed, then after some time appeared again. Then it turned into a chronic form; with overwork and hypothermia, everything was repeated all over again. The doctor prescribed Bacroban ointment. The ointment does not burn and does not cause discomfort after use. One course of treatment was enough. It suited me well, my problem disappeared and never appeared again. With such phenomena on the skin, the ointment practically does not work, since it is a local antibiotic, and not a broad spectrum one, that is, it acts purely in the nasopharynx.

After sinusitis, rashes appeared that did not go away, the ENT specialist prescribed Bactroban. I applied it 2 times a day, the instructions indicated a course of 5-7 days, the symptoms went away in a couple of days! The drug has few side effects and contraindications and can be used by children. You cannot use Bactroban for more than the course of treatment, as it is addictive.

Instructions for use of Bactroban

pharmachologic effect

Mupirocin is a local antibiotic. Mupirocin inhibits isoleucyl transfer RNA synthetase, disrupting protein synthesis in the bacterial cell. Due to its specific mechanism of action and unique chemical structure, mupirocin does not show cross-resistance with other antibiotics. When mupirocin is used correctly, the risk of the emergence of resistant strains of microorganisms is small. When used in minimal inhibitory concentrations, mupirocin has bacteriostatic properties, and when used in higher concentrations, it has bactericidal properties.

Antibacterial activity: in vitro effective against Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant strains), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus spp. and also against gram-negative microorganisms: Haemophilis influenzae and Escherichia coli. Other gram-negative microorganisms are less sensitive, and strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa are resistant to mupirocin.

Efficacy against the listed microorganisms has been clinically confirmed.

Pharmacokinetics

Mupirocin, after intranasal administration, enters the systemic circulation when used in newborns and premature infants, without causing any undesirable effects indicating intolerance to the drug. Absorption of mupirocin through the mucosa (less than 1% of the applied dose is excreted by the kidneys in the form of monic acid).

Release form, composition and packaging

Nasal ointment 2% white or almost white.

Excipients : white soft paraffin - 929.6 mg, softizan.9 mg.

3 g - aluminum tubes (1) with a plastic tip - cardboard packs.

Dosage regimen

The ointment is applied using an applicator (reusable tube). After treating the surface of the mucous membrane, the nasal passages should be tightly compressed, which ensures uniform distribution of the ointment throughout the nasal mucosa.

The course of treatment is 3-5 days. The drug should not be used for more than 10 days without reassessing the condition. It should not be mixed with other medicinal products for intranasal use to avoid dilution of the ointment and, consequently, a decrease in antibacterial activity or a possible change in the stability of the intranasal ointment.

Directions for use: apply a small amount of ointment, approximately the size of a match head (approximately 30 mg of ointment), into each nasal passage 2 times a day for 5 days.

Overdose

To date, there have been no reports of drug overdose.

Drug interactions

Side effect

In 12 clinical studies, the incidence of adverse reactions was less than 0.1%. Isolated reports of adverse reactions have been reported (<1/10,000) during routine use of the drug and the reported frequency is related to the frequency of reports rather than the frequency of the reaction.

Adverse reactions by organ and system are listed below, indicating the frequency of their occurrence. Determination of frequency: very often (>1/10), often (>1/100, but <1/10), infrequently (>1/1000, but <1/100), rarely (>1/10,000, but < 1/1000), very rare (<1/10,000).

From the immune system: very rarely - local hypersensitivity reactions.

From the respiratory tract: infrequently - allergic reactions from the mucous membrane.

Indications

- local infections of the nasal cavity caused by microorganisms sensitive to mupirocin, including carriage of Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant strains).

Contraindications for use

- known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Ointment for external use GlaxoSmithKline Bactroban, ointment 2% - reviews

Bactroban for dangerous forms of acne and their uncontrolled spread across the face.

Hi all. I'll tell you about my eternal helpers for problem skin. So I have one product I bought a long time ago lurking in my refrigerator. Bactroban is a very useful ointment with a strong antibiotic in its composition.

A good antibiotic for external and local use.

Hello everyone, I woke up one day and felt something in the area of the ear, a little sore, I looked closely in the mirror and saw an incomprehensible red pimple that was also painful. The pimple was some kind of subcutaneous one and I didn’t know what to do with it.

When there is no more hope left. Painful purulent acne due to low immunity. 4 months of tears.

Hi all! For several months I suffered with such beauty. A lot of tears were shed and a lot of money was spent. The result was weak. Relapse again.

I was cured of dermatitis only thanks to this ointment! + photo

Hello everyone) Today is the 2nd part of my terrible review) The first is here. What and how you can read there if you want. And here I’ll write briefly - I had allergic dermatitis, which, unfortunately, I first started treating with the wrong ointment and my treatment was delayed for 2 weeks, at least everything could have passed at most...

Helped me in ways I definitely didn’t expect.

Oh, guys, I’ll tell you my sad story. So I lived and lived for myself, everything was always fine. From time to time I only suffered from acne)) not much) and so, this spring something bad happened to me.

if it's "to the point", then it's a good ointment

So Baktroban appeared in our first aid kit... The baby had mixed rashes against the background of newborn blooms (acne), mixed with allergic rashes (but I never found out what they were, the suspicion was of the so-called “scrofula”, as I understand it...), and some kind of incomprehensible irritation with...

Bactroban as a remedy for acne and other horrors. The effect is already the next day!!

Hello to everyone who stopped by :) Since the end of August, pimples and red spots appeared on my face after them, which did not go away, but only increased in number. At first I referred to my hands, which always tore off the scabs, crushed everything that my eyes could see, and thereby did not allow the skin to heal.

Review of Bactroban ointment! HE CURED STAPHYLOCOCC AURUS!

Good afternoon everyone. Today my review will be about BACTROBAN ointment. Let me start with the fact that one day I took a nasal swab and was found to have Staphylococcus aureus in an amount exceeding the permissible norm. Of course, I put my hands up and run to the doctor.

I treated Furunculosis in a very unusual place for it, in the ear.

I probably wouldn’t have gotten acquainted with this drug if it weren’t for a coincidence. I have had boils intermittently before. For example, after 3 months, only one goes away, and a second one appears. Doctors attributed this to a weakened immune system.

ointment for pustules on the face of a baby

The doctor prescribed this ointment to relieve a three-week-old baby of a rash on his face. The nature of the rash was hormonal, that is, this antibacterial ointment does not treat the root cause of the rash, but it minimizes the inflammation of pimples.

It helps, but not against all infections.

I was going through my first aid kit and found Bactroban ointment, which I was prescribed exactly a year ago to lubricate post-operative sutures. I had abdominal surgery, after which the stitches did not dry out for a long time. They prescribed a lot of things, including Bactroban. In the end everything healed. But not after Bactroban.

the ointment is good, but...

I bought it as prescribed by a Dermatologist, smeared it on damaged areas once a day. First, I cleaned my face with Citrosept, 5-10 drops per glass of water. And then I applied this ointment, after a minute I felt a burning sensation, but it was tolerable. The doctor told me that I don’t need to use it for a long time.

Reviews for Bactroban

Release form: Ointment

Ninel S. added a positive review to Baktroban

Effective antibacterial ointment

The ointment contains a strong antibiotic that helps with any external inflammation. Now I use it to fight acne when the situation becomes critical. You can’t smear it constantly, as it becomes addictive. Therefore, I only use it in situations where the situation needs to be corrected urgently. There is positive experience using the ointment for inflamed mosquito bites. Somehow I scratched the site of the bite and apparently got an infection, the wound did not heal for a long time, after treatment with ointment everything quickly healed. In general, I bought it for the treatment of boils in the ear canal, it was prescribed by an otolaryngologist, and since then I have had this medicine.

Larisa added a negative review to Baktroban

For staphylococcal infection

This summer, after a couple of scratches, my daughter began to develop some strange sores all over her body, they healed and new ones appeared. Then, at an appointment with a dermatologist, it turned out that it was ecthyma - the child was scratching scratches and got a staphylococcal infection, which then spread to healthy skin. We were prescribed Bactroban ointment. Its active ingredient is Mupirocin (a new generation antibiotic), it is active against many pathogenic microorganisms - there is a huge list in the instructions. I am glad that it can be used for both children and pregnant women, therefore it is relatively safe. Apply it with a cotton swab twice a day to the affected areas. After two days, a positive result became visible, and after five days the skin became clear.

Diana added a positive review to Baktroban

For skin problems!

When red, terribly itchy pimples appeared on my face, I was scared, but I still went to the dermatologist. As it turned out, this is how allergies manifested themselves. The doctor prescribed pills to make the pimples go away faster - Bactroban. I applied the ointment to the sores every day. After using the ointment, the rashes stopped itching, and literally a week later there were no traces of pimples left. By the way, the doctor warned me that it is often impossible to use Baktroban due to the fact that the drug contains an antibiotic, to which the body can simply get used. I will say that I used the drug a couple of times to treat boils and the result was also excellent.

Lesya added a positive review to Baktroban

It's better than taking antibiotics and suffering from side effects.

I always plucked my nose hairs, and because of my whim, I developed folliculitis right inside my nostril. The doctor prescribed this ointment when I asked if it was possible to do without taking antibiotics orally - after all, they have many side effects, you understand. They prescribed me this ointment, which is very expensive and not available at every turn. I found it anyway, bought it and was extremely pleased. The ointment is very convenient to apply thanks to the thin nose of the tube; after application it does not burn at all, does not cause any discomfort and, on the contrary, somehow cools and brings pain relief. It has a slightly minty smell, but it is not irritating and personally did not cause any allergies to me, although I am an allergy sufferer. The effect is simply amazing, in 4 days there was no trace of inflammation, of which there were 4. Every day the nose hurt less and less, and then everything healed completely. There were no side effects at all, the ointment did not even dry out the skin. The only thing I didn't like was that it doesn't absorb well and has a habit of leaking out of your nostril if you apply too much of it.

Fedor added a positive review to Baktroban

Not so long ago, or rather in June, I discovered a tumor the size of a pea on my lower back. This inclusion hurt quite a lot, it was itching, and did not allow me to sleep at night. I used Vishnevsky ointment, but it didn’t help. After another sleepless night, I went to the surgeon. The diagnosis is a boil, and it’s almost ripe. The doctor first prescribed Bactroban. I applied the ointment 3 times a day. Already on the second day, the contents began to recede. On the third day, I got to the doctor, he removed the remains and treated the wound. The ointment clearly speeded up the treatment process. I did not find any side effects. Once it accidentally got on the mucous membrane, it was very unpleasant, I treated it with soap and water.

Sergey added a positive review to Baktroban

Rescue from pustules

I constantly suffer from suppurations. As soon as you cut your finger, the wound, instead of drying out and healing, begins to fester. Naturally, this whole thing hurts and takes a very long time. Once we were on vacation with friends, I injured my hand and the wound festered. Friends saw it and offered to anoint it with Bactroban. I smeared it for three days, the wound began to heal quickly. Arriving home, I decided that I needed to buy myself such an ointment. It's expensive, but the tube is quite small and doesn't last long. But in my case this is an indispensable tool. Perhaps I'll find a cheaper analogue, then I'll switch to it.

Customer reviews about Bactroban

I treat panaritium and infected torn calluses, which in the heat constantly become inflamed along with the tendons. It saves a lot.

My daughter has only been using it for 2 days, but she is already seeing results! I hope it doesn't disappear after the full course!

I never thought that furunculosis, when it pops up in the nose, is so scary and so painful, just some kind of horror. Just recently they suggested that I should apply Bactroban ointment, and within three days the acute pain went away and the sores began to dry out. I really hope that very soon I will be able to breathe normally, wash my face and not flinch every time I accidentally touch my face.

The runny nose did not go away for a very long time and at a paid clinic they persuaded me to do a culture. Staphylococcus was detected. I can't imagine where it could have come from. And immediately after that I was prescribed Bactroban ointment. It is quite expensive, but, in fact, after using it, my runny nose was cured very quickly.

The doctor at a regular district clinic also prescribed me Bactroban. It helped. Let's check how long?

I started applying Bactroban, when the boils got worse, the doctor prescribed vitamins and this ointment. Apparently the body was exhausted, and the sores began to go away faster, otherwise they were so painful. that I didn’t have the strength to wait for them to mature and open, thanks to the ointment. Now there are no such rashes, but if anything happens I apply Bactroban.

Bactroban

Comments

From a runny nose. The first time I hear about it, I applied it to myself when there was a suspicion that someone in the family was infecting my son with staphylococcus. But for a runny nose, I think it’s nonsense.

Our situation is this: otitis media has been going on for a week now; I prescribed Bactroban as part of a comprehensive treatment. I thought it was a runny nose. Doesn't it mean you don't need to use it?

Don't know. I was just surprised that for a runny nose, it’s not usually treated like that. And otitis media is serious. But when we had otitis media, we were simply prescribed the antibiotic Macropen and also Otipax ear drops. And the nose was simply washed and instilled. But I’m not a doctor, it’s better to listen to him, because otitis media is no joke. By the way, I still have an almost full tube of Bactroban, if you need it - otherwise it’s expensive.

Thank you. already bought. Now I don’t understand the meaning of assigning it to us. Otipax drops. She also prescribed us to irrigate our throats with inhalipt. but I haven't sprayed it yet.

I think that the doctor is afraid of the spread of pathogenic bacteria into the nose and throat. After all, the ENT organs are connected to each other, if the ear becomes inflamed, the infection will eventually penetrate further into the pharynx and will also develop in the nose. I think so. And then it’s better to listen to the doctor. Or consult again. Get well.

most likely it is. We have already visited three doctors. We'll go for another checkup tomorrow. Thank you. helped me figure it out. otherwise I was in turmoil. accept or not

We had otitis media due to teeth... so we also only drank antibiotics and Otipax... somehow it’s old and doesn’t help you? Well, it can’t be that the antibiotic wouldn’t help

I don't know whether to buy it or not. The instructions do not indicate age restrictions. How did they give it?

Hello! The second time I gave the ointment to a child for conjunctivitis, I found information that it was prohibited for children to use the ointment. Acute conjunctivitis began right during an excursion on vacation, they called an Egyptian doctor, prescribed drops (I later googled them), it turned out that.

Hello girls! On ultrasound they said that there was a threat (5 weeks). They prescribed popaverine suppositories - I read in the instructions that safety has not been proven during pregnancy and lactation? What should I do?? Maybe there is an alternative - who used WHAT?

Good evening, girls! I have 5dpp today, I actively apply Divigel as prescribed once a day and suddenly today I discover that the package says 0.5 mg and I remember that the statement says 1.0*1 time.

Today I bought supradin kinder gel, multivitamins and for teething. So, whoever has used or is using it, please tell me the instructions on how to use it, it says only from 3 years old, but it doesn’t say for younger children. I will understand this way.

who smeared the children's noses? The doctor prescribed it to us as an antiviral, but the instructions say that the effect on children is unknown, I’m shocked. who smeared virogel on his nose.

I am now B 4 weeks 3 days (obstetrics), immediately after O I caught a cold, I still have a cough and runny nose. My G prescribed me Viferon 1 piece 2 times a day, BUT. it is written in the instructions.

Girls, tell me! The doctor prescribed Viferon suppositories for a severe cold, but the instructions say that they can only be used from the 14th week. And I’m about 4-5, I haven’t even registered yet. I just took the test recently.

The doctor prescribed chlorophyllipt for a runny nose - she wrote how to dilute it (1:2 with vegetable oil), but did not write how exactly to use it: either smear it in the nose or drip it, how often?

Bactroban reviews

Personally it doesn't help me.

The child complains that his throat hurts. So I think it’s worth using it (despite the fact that spraying a child’s throat is a very difficult thing!) or is this just another fashionable medicine?

It costs about 300 rubles - a lot.

Local antibiotics (nose and throat)

but when the runny nose lasts for a week and is not going to disappear, I decided that doxycyline is better than otitis media and sinusitis. and the cost compared to children's nazivins, etc. — 40 rub. for 10 ampoules. this is for a year

I received advice from a doctor who has been seeing my eldest for 5 years and I trust her, especially since it helped, and without consequences. as always her advice.

That’s the beauty of it, that the doctor gives several recommendations to choose from, and I, as a mother, decide which ones to use. I know my child. and weighed the risk. and shared the advice for others. because the runny nose and red throat were cured in three days. This was important for us, since the infection could go down. into the bronchi and beyond.

Yes, the recipe is unusual. but when my husband tried to find Doxycycline, the pharmacy told him that precisely because many old (* in the sense of long-serving) doctors know about this effect, this medicine is difficult to buy. many people take it specifically for this purpose.

Well that's it, lyrics...

Secondly, doxycycline belongs to the group of tetracyclines - very strong and effective antibiotics, BUT they all have one contraindication: age under 9 years (the period of formation of the crown part of the tooth). Admission during this period leads to irreparable changes in the structure of the tooth. There is even such a term: tetracycline teeth. Of course you can live with them, but the child will have a lot of complexes! (Teeth range in color from light yellow to almost black depending on the dose and duration of use). Moreover, not the entire tooth may be colored, but only a part - which was formed at the time of taking the drug.

Why did she decide that it was okay to pour something like that into her nose?

We haven’t tried treating my throat yet (it hasn’t hurt yet).

Bioparox

The doctor prescribed Bioparox 2 injections into each nostril and into the throat.

The instructions say that it is contraindicated for children under 2.5 years old.

The actual question is: would you give your child this drug or not?

I'm at a loss for something - I don't know what to do.

In general, my daughter is cheerful and cheerful - maybe everything will somehow go away on its own.

Bactroban

Bactroban ointment

Who was prescribed Bactroban?

Bactroban, analogues

Bactroban ointment – should you trust the instructions or the doctor?

Do your paper instructions indicate the age from 12 years? I just followed the link from your post - they write that there are no age restrictions.

Doctors can prescribe, but reduce the dosage! I also had to give it inappropriately for my age, I trust the doctor)

Bactroban, has anyone used it?

Bactroban ointment

and what is she from? all from the same? try drapolene, it even cured frostbitten cheeks, but I thought I was allergic to something and neither suprastin nor fenistil helped

Bactroban (nasal) during pregnancy

Drops and sprays for the runny nose (benefits and harms) (large article, lazy people should not read it)

We don't use drops, because... can be addictive, aerosols in general can wash out otitis media due to the uncontrolled flow, so we take metered sprays. Of all, I like morenasal both for its quality and inexpensive price.

about atopic dermatitis and treatment with non-hormonal ointments

By the way, non-hormonal ointments are the best way. Well, as for me. Such ointments are more effective than folk remedies, but at the same time safer than hormonal ones. In addition, they are pharmaceutical and medically created. Overall a good solution to the problem. But of all the existing ones, I only know about Elidel cream that it helps. But I think there are enough such means and everyone will choose what suits them.

Well, if you have the Internet, maybe you can order it to the nearest town, that helps. Now for money, they can even deliver it to the bears at the North Pole)) From the means at hand - baby cream, a decoction of chamomile, sage and not letting the skin dry out. and if it gets wet, then do without creams - dry it.

Medicines for children's noses (Leskov Ivan Vasilievich - Otolaryngologist)

The article is very interesting and informative, it’s true. I get allergic rhinitis in the spring, especially when the birch tree starts to bloom and there’s no time for jokes, I tried a lot of drops and sprays, I finally settled on Allergodil spray, it suits me, it relieves swelling and congestion, and what else is needed)

Thank you. this is just a mega super article! If only doctors would describe everything so clearly. I wish there was an article like this about cough medicines.

Atopic dermatitis. Once again about non-hormonal methods of combating external manifestations of “allergies”

For weeping or severe scratching - fukortsin;

On the cracks of the tsinocap

I don’t yet know how to get rid of itching other than fenistil gel... And itching has been a primary problem lately! Sometimes clean places just bleed (((

I can also add to the article from us that, for example, it is better to alternate skin softeners; When you apply one, it’s as if your skin gets used to it!

I alternate about once a week: Emolium, Locobase Ripea, Radevit.

For bathing, sea salt and viburnum leaves are most suitable for us (no worse than Friderm and Emolium emulsion)

We’ve also been struggling with this garbage for a year and a half... and then I accidentally found cosmetics from the company Aveeno. She seems to be from the US... you can’t compare her with any mustela! And in general, I tried a lot... in 2 days we got rid of the scabs that had not gone away for a year!

Complete information on nasal medications. Help the snotty ones!

right on time) we are just now snotty, I’ll run tomorrow for pinosol)))

About nasal drops

Rinofluimucil is, in my opinion, the most effective remedy for a runny nose, and it really cures a runny nose, but does not alleviate it... the whole family uses it

PS If you are going to donate blood (for example, from a finger), do not drip your nose before doing so, otherwise when you puncture the blood shoots out like a fountain))))

In general, I think, and my doctor friend said, that aerosols are harmful to health, because they have an uncontrollable stream and this can cause otitis media, so now I only use metered nasal sprays.

Medicines for children's noses - a super-useful article

nasal drops

tell. plz urgently

The doctors are completely crazy. I can’t give you any advice on the topic, but I would advise you to go to another doctor.

Trip to the KVD,

What does the child eat? Have you treated staphylococcus and dysbacteriosis? Why can’t they identify the allergen? My son's face was covered in dermatitis since a month ago. from 3 months crusts are weeping all over the body. generally no better than yours. They switched to goat's milk, dragged it around the grandmothers, and it began to pass. I was in the hospital once. But at the same time they vaccinated him((Yours was probably also vaccinated from the maternity hospital? This affects, especially if the staff was brought in at the maternity hospital. After 2 years everything turned into asthma. My daughter is also an allergy sufferer, she still has rashes((in the garden it is still getting worse, We even rent for a while.

Oh, poor things, how things have developed again :) You should create a topic on VK in the group, maybe someone has some left? I would even ask my husband to come take it to you, but we don’t use these, so we don’t have these ointments. If you later switch to emollients like ours, then I can get them cheaper for you too, but with the secondary they are pointless for you for now.

Nasal drops

useful article about nasal drops)

I decided on Morenazal Immuno - I’m very pleased. Now I prefer to buy it. It is very convenient that there is a dispenser, unlike analogues (it is used sparingly), it is also suitable for children, as the dispenser spout is soft! In general, there are only advantages, it is indispensable in our harsh climate.

How does Bactroban relate to this list? ointment for affected areas of the skin is available along with isofra and polydexa I didn’t even bother to read further

We don’t use nasal drops at all, we just rinse with saline and that’s it

Oh, a relevant article. Right now I’m suffering with my nose. I’m afraid sinusitis will start. Can you tell me what Nazonex is for?

A battalion of medicines or how not to heal

Don’t be afraid to drink Subsimplex, it is not absorbed in the ventricle and comes out unchanged, I gave it to my baby at every feeding until he was 3 months old, we didn’t even know what colic was =)

We are on IV and we were also prescribed vitamin D. But the baby had a lot of rain on Aquadetrim and I couldn’t find another one, so we went through a 5-month commission and were told not to drink vitamin D anymore (even though we didn’t drink it). True, we repeat at IV and get vitamins in the mixture. And now it’s sunny and you can go for walks more often. Komarovsky, for example, writes that it is enough for a child to be in the sun for 20 minutes a week with an open face and hands so as not to feel the need for vitamins. =)

Danger of a runny nose for a child

Oh, if we get a runny nose, it’s terrible, then for 2 weeks we sit at home sick as usual. I try to prevent the disease from developing. Now we went to the sea, just took a swim - and immediately started snot. I glued the Breathe patch over the bed at night, it contains essential oils, the child breathes it and the nasal congestion is relieved. As a result, we got rid of the incipient runny nose, did not get sick, and then swam in the sea without any problems.

The main substance is mupirocin, which is an antibiotic. I won’t tell you how it works, you can read about it in the instructions. Let me just say that it is effective against bacteria such as staphyloccus, streptococcus strains, corybacteria, etc.

The ointment treats skin infections, impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis. Small wounds after injuries, abrasions, etc.

It is necessary to smear for 10 days 3 times a day. Must be used until recovery. If you are sensitive to the drug, you can cancel it.

I liked the effect of the drug, so I can recommend using it.

Clinical and pharmacological group

Antibiotic for external use.

Conditions for dispensing from pharmacies

Available without a prescription.

How much does Bactroban cost? The average price in pharmacies is 500 rubles.

Release form and composition

Bactroban is available in the form of a 2% nasal ointment and a 2% ointment for external use.

The main active ingredient is mupirocin.

Pharmacological effect

The active substance of the drug, mupirocin, is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. The drug is designed specifically for external use. The active component inhibits the increase in the amount of protein in microbial cells and has bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects (subject to increased dosage).

  • Based on the studies conducted, it became known that cross-resistance of the drug to other antimicrobial agents was not detected.

According to the instructions, Baktroban actively affects streptococci, staphylococci, diplococci of the genus Neisseria (causative agents of gonorrhea), meningococci, Haemophilus influenzae, pathogens of opportunistic infections, infectious diseases of the respiratory, mucous membranes, urogenital purulent-inflammatory, intestinal diseases, pertussis, enterobacter, citrobacter, some types of Proteus.

Indications for use

Ointment for external use:

  1. Treatment of secondary skin infections: minor (not requiring hospitalization) burns and wounds, infected trauma (insect bites, minor abrasions), infected eczema.
  2. Therapy of primary skin infections: ecthyma, folliculitis, impetigo, furunculosis (including boils of the auricle and external auditory canal).
  3. Bacterial lesions and their complications resulting from cuts, minor abrasions and wounds - for the purpose of prevention.

Intranasal ointment: indications for use are local infections of the nasal cavity caused by microorganisms sensitive to mupirocin, as well as carriage of staphylococci (including multidrug-resistant and methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus).

Contraindications

The use of Bactroban, according to the instructions, is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to mupirocin and/or to the auxiliary components of the medication.

The ointment is used with caution for external use on large surfaces of the skin, with increased absorption of polyethylene glycol (through wounds or other damage to the epidermis) in patients with moderate and severe renal failure. Because macrogol (an excipient of the drug for external use) is polyethylene glycol, which is excreted from the body through the kidneys.

There is no data on the use of ointment during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore, treatment with Bactroban is recommended only under the supervision of a doctor, if the possible risk to the child is insignificant in comparison with the benefits of therapy for his mother.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

There is no data on the use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

There was no evidence of reproductive toxicity in animal studies. However, as with the use of other medications, the use of Bactroban during pregnancy and breastfeeding is only possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs any potential risk to the fetus.

Breastfeeding must be stopped during the period of use of the drug to prevent bacterial infection of cracked nipples.

Instructions for use

The instructions for use indicate that Bactroban ointment is intended for topical use only. As a rule, a small amount of ointment is prescribed to be applied to the affected areas of the skin 1 to 3 times a day. The recommended duration of treatment is from 7 to 10 days.

  • The ointment should be applied in a thin layer; a bandage may be applied over the ointment. Before applying the drug, you should clean the area of the skin that will be treated with ointment. After use, it is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly. Avoid getting the ointment in your eyes. The duration of therapy and the regimen for using Bactroban ointment are determined by the doctor.

Caution should be exercised when prescribing the ointment to patients with impaired renal function and elderly patients, especially if it is necessary to apply the ointment to large areas of the skin or to areas with impaired skin integrity.

Side effects

As a rule, both types of ointment are well tolerated by patients. However, in some cases of using external ointment, the following side effects may occur:

  1. Very rarely and in exceptional cases - Quincke's edema, urticaria, generalized (affecting a large surface) rash, anaphylaxis (swelling, suffocation).
  2. Uncommon: swelling, dry skin, erythema (abnormal redness of the skin), tingling at the application site.
  3. Often - burning at the site of application.

With prolonged use of the drug, an increase in the growth of resistant microflora is possible.

Overdose

In therapeutic practice, no cases of overdose from the use of external or nasal ointments have been recorded. The toxicity of the main active ingredient is very low.

special instructions

The drug is used as prescribed by a doctor. Before use, you must carefully read its instructions. There are several special instructions for the use of Bactroban ointment, which include:

  1. Do not apply a large amount of the drug to the skin, as this can lead to the absorption of propylene glycol into the blood, which negatively affects the functional activity of the kidneys.
  2. It is imperative to pay attention to the compliance of the dosage form with the method of its use; the use of ointment for external use intranasally is not allowed. If intranasal ointment is applied to the skin, its therapeutic effectiveness may be insufficient.
  3. The use of ointment does not affect concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.
  4. It is important to avoid contact of any type of Bactroban ointment with the conjunctiva of the eyes. If even a small amount of the drug gets in, the eyes should be rinsed with plenty of running water and seek medical help.

In the pharmacy chain, the drug is dispensed according to a doctor's prescription. Its independent use is not recommended, as this can lead to the formation of pathogenic (disease-causing) microflora resistant to antibiotics.

Drug interactions

If there are infectious skin lesions, the ointment should not be used simultaneously with other topical bactericidal ointments. This negatively affects the effectiveness of Bactroban and reduces its bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect.

At the same time as taking nasal Bactroban, you cannot use other bactericidal nasal drops - the interval between taking medications should be at least an hour.

Analogs

Structural analogues of the active substance:

Before using analogues, consult your doctor.

Storage conditions and shelf life

The shelf life of unopened ointment from the moment of its manufacture is 1.5 years. Once the tube has been unsealed, the ointment has a shelf life of 2 weeks. The drug must be stored out of the reach of children, in a dark and dry place with an air temperature no higher than +25° C.

One comment
