    Why spray?

    But first, let's figure out how the spray differs from its more experienced “predecessor” - nasal drops. For example, let’s take the simplest solution of sea water in the form of drops and spray and compare their effectiveness.

    Ordinary nasal drops wash the nasal cavity quite unevenly. And even more so, they cannot penetrate through the mouth into the paranasal maxillary sinuses, and, therefore, the effectiveness of intranasal drops for sinusitis is extremely doubtful.

In addition, the volume of nasal secretions also decreases during the action of alpha-agonists. Let us add that nasal sprays for a runny nose have a symptomatic, not a therapeutic effect: they alleviate rhinitis and rhinosinusitis, but do not cure the disease itself.

    Naphazoline

    The most age-appropriate alpha-adrenergic agonist, naphazoline, is gradually becoming a thing of the past. A nasal spray with naphazoline, just like drops, is effective for a fairly limited period of time - only a few hours.
