Strepsils Plus is an antiseptic drug for topical use in otorhinolaryngology and dental practice, which has an antimicrobial and local anesthetic effect.

Release form and composition

The drug Strepsils plus is a local antibacterial agent with a pronounced analgesic effect, which is used in dental and ENT practice.

Release form and composition of the drug

The drug Strepsils plus is available in the form of a metered spray in a 20 ml glass bottle. The bottle is equipped with a special dispenser-spray and is in a cardboard box with detailed instructions.

The contents of the bottle are a transparent red solution with a characteristic odor of mint and anise. The therapeutic effect of the drug is due to its constituent components - 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmetacresol, lidocaine hydrochloride, as well as a number of auxiliary components: ethanol 96%, peppermint leaf oil , purified water, citric acid, sodium hydroxide, levomenthol, saccharin.

Indications for use

Strepsils plus spray is prescribed to patients over 12 years of age for the treatment and prevention of the following conditions:

  • tonsillitis, including prevention of exacerbation of chronic inflammatory process;
  • pharyngitis;
  • stomatitis;
  • toothache;
  • aphthous ulcers in the mouth;
  • gingivitis;
  • fungal infection of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity.

The drug Strepsil Plus in the form of a spray is prescribed as a preventive treatment for complications after tooth extraction or surgery in the oral cavity.

Contraindications

Strepsil plus spray has some contraindications for use, so before starting use it is important to read the included instructions. The drug is not recommended for use in the following situations:

  • individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
  • age of children under 12 years old;
  • pregnancy in the 1st trimester.

With particular caution, the drug is prescribed to persons prone to the development of bronchospasm and laryngospasm, as well as pregnant women from the 2nd trimester and nursing mothers.

Strepsil plus in the form of a spray is used topically for irrigation of the oropharynx.
