Sanorin: instructions for use
The drug Sanorin belongs to the pharmacological group of alpha-adrenergic agonists for local use. It is used to reduce the appearance of runny nose and nasal congestion.
Composition and release form
The drug Sanorin is available in the dosage form of drops and spray for nasal use, which are presented as an opaque white liquid. The main active ingredient of the drug is naphthazoline nitrate, its content in 1 ml of drops is 0.5 mg (0.05% solution) and 1 mg (0.1% solution), in 1 ml of spray - 1 mg (0.1% spray ). As excipients, the drops contain methyl parahydroxybenzoate, boric acid, ethylenediamine, and purified water. The spray contains excipients, which include methylparaben, boric acid, edamine, sterile water. Sanorin drops in the form of a solution are contained in a dark glass bottle, equipped with a special dropper, with a volume of 10 ml. The spray is contained in a 10 ml plastic bottle equipped with a special dispenser. A cardboard pack of the drug contains one glass bottle with drops or a plastic bottle with a spray, as well as instructions for use.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
The active component of the drug Sanorin is naphtazoline, which belongs to alpha-adrenergic agonists. It stimulates alpha2-adrenergic receptors, which leads to a narrowing of venules and arterioles in the area of application of the drug, which leads to a decrease in the severity of swelling of the nasal mucosa, the intensity of the exudation process, which makes it possible to ease breathing with a runny nose.
After the drug enters the nasal mucosa, the active substance of Sanorin drops or spray can be partially absorbed into the systemic bloodstream.
Indications for use
The medical indication for the use of the drug Sanorin is the relief of nasal breathing in inflammatory pathologies of the nasal cavity (rhinitis) of various origins, paranasal sinuses (frontal sinusitis, sinusitis), and the Eustachian tube (eustachitis). The drug is also used when it is necessary to stop nosebleeds and to prepare the nasal mucosa before conducting a diagnostic instrumental study of rhinoscopy.
Contraindications for carrying out
There are several pathological and physiological conditions of the patient’s body that are medical contraindications to the use of the drug Sanorin, these include:
- Chronic inflammation of the nasal mucosa.
- High blood pressure (arterial hypertension).
- Enlargement of the thyroid gland with an increase in its functional activity.
- Increased heart rate (tachycardia).
- Increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma).
- Severe atherosclerosis (deposition of cholesterol on the walls of arterial vessels with a decrease in the diameter of their lumen).
- Disorders of carbohydrate metabolism (diabetes mellitus).
- Simultaneous use of drugs of the pharmacological group monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), as well as the period of time after stopping their use for 2 weeks.
- Children under 15 years of age (0.1% concentration) and under 2 years of age (0.05% solution).
Before starting to use the drug Sanorin, it is important to ensure that there are no contraindications.
Directions for use and dosage
The drug Sanorin is intended for intranasal use. Drops are instilled into the nasal passage using a dropper, and the spray is administered by inhalation into the nasal passage using a special dispenser. The regimen of use and dosage of the drug have certain differences depending on the pathology:
- Acute rhinitis, sinusitis, eustachitis - for adults the drug is used in a dose of 1-3 drops or 1-3 doses of a spray with a 0.1% concentration 2-3 times a day. Children aged 2 to 15 years use a 0.05% concentration of the drug in the form of drops, 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day. The duration of treatment with Sanorin should not exceed 1 week in adults and 3 days in children. After a break of several days, the course of treatment can be continued.
- Stopping nosebleeds - gauze turunda moistened with a 0.05% solution is inserted into the nasal cavity.
The drug can be used as an additional remedy for the treatment of conjunctivitis, for which a 0.05% solution is instilled into a bag, 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day.
Side effects
With the use of the drug Sanorin, it is possible to develop negative pathological reactions, which include irritation of the nasal mucosa in the form of burning and dryness, its swelling with prolonged use of the drug. When the active component of the drug is absorbed into the systemic circulation, nausea, headache, tachycardia and arterial hypertension may appear. The appearance of signs of negative pathological reactions is grounds for stopping use of the drug.
Features of application
Before starting to use the drug Sanorin, you must carefully read the instructions. With prolonged use of the drug, addiction may develop, requiring an increase in dosage to achieve the required therapeutic effect. After a treatment duration of 1 week in adults and 3 days in children, it is important to take a break. Concomitant use of Sanorin with MAO inhibitors can lead to a significant decrease in systemic blood pressure. The possibility of using the drug Sanorin for pregnant women is determined by the doctor purely individually according to strict medical indications. Data on the effect of the drug on the functional activity of the cerebral cortex and other structures of the nervous system. In the pharmacy chain, the drug Sanorin is available without a prescription; in doubtful cases, you should definitely consult a medical specialist.
Overdose
If the therapeutic dose of the drug Sanorin is significantly exceeded, the active substance of the drug is absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, as a result of which manifestations of overdose develop, including a decrease in body temperature (hypothermia), a decrease in heart rate (bradycardia), increased sweating (hyperhidrosis), drowsiness, disturbances of consciousness up to coma. . Treatment of overdose is symptomatic and is carried out in a medical hospital. There is no specific antidote for the drug.
Sanorin analogues
For spray and drops of Sanorin, the drugs Naphthyzin and Naphazolin are similar in composition and therapeutic effect.
Storage

Composition of the drug.
Sanorin is an alpha2-adrenergic agonist with a direct stimulating effect on alpha-adrenergic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system. When administered intranasally, it has a rapid, pronounced and long-lasting vasoconstrictor effect on the vessels of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses - it reduces swelling and hyperemia, thereby improving the patency of the nasal passages and facilitating nasal breathing. Along with this, the patency of the Eustachian tubes is restored.
The therapeutic effect occurs, as a rule, within 5 minutes after administration of the drug and lasts for 4-6 hours. With prolonged use, the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases, so after 5-7 days of treatment you should take a break for several days.
Antazolin (the active ingredient of the drug Sanorin Analergin) is a blocker of histamine H1 receptors, has an antiallergic and decongestant effect.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
If it is necessary to use the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), the expected benefits of therapy for the mother and the possible risk to the fetus should be assessed.
There is no data on the penetration of naphazoline through the placental barrier or into breast milk.
Children over 2 years old - 1-2 drops of 0.05% nasal drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day with an interval of at least 4 hours.
With long-term use, the severity of the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), and therefore it is recommended that after 3 days of use in children, take a break for several days.
Caution is required when performing general anesthesia with the use of anesthetics that increase the sensitivity of the myocardium to sympathomimetics (halothane), especially in patients with bronchial asthma.
Long-term use of the drug should be avoided.
Due to the possible development of side effects from the cardiovascular system and nervous system, the recommended dosage of the drug should not be exceeded.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions, taking into account the side effect profile.
When using the drug simultaneously with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants (and within 14 days after stopping their use), blood pressure may increase, which is due to the release of deposited catecholamines under the influence of naphazoline. Therefore, the use of the drug Sanorin simultaneously with MAO inhibitors and within 14 days after their discontinuation is contraindicated.
Naphazoline slows down the absorption of local anesthetics, which leads to an increase in the duration of their action.

Spray and drops Sanorin
Sanorin belongs to the pharmacological group of vasoconstrictor drugs, widely used in otolaryngological practice. Available in the form of nasal drops. Another form of release is a nasal spray.
Intranasal administration causes a pronounced, rapid and prolonged vasoconstrictor effect on the vessels of the paranasal sinuses and mucous membranes of the nose, as well as the nasopharynx. It is expressed in a decrease in swelling and hyperemia, as a result of which the patency of the nasal passages improves and easier nasal breathing is observed.
The patency of the Eustachian tubes also improves. The therapeutic effect is usually observed within 5 minutes after using Sanorin and lasts approximately 4-6 hours.
Clinical and pharmacological group
Vasoconstrictor drug for local use in ENT practice.
Terms of sale from pharmacies
Can be bought without a doctor's prescription.
How much does Sanorin cost in pharmacies? The average price is 190 rubles.
Composition and release form
Sanorin is available in the following forms:
- nasal drops 0.05% and 0.1%: in the form of a clear, colorless liquid (10 ml in dark glass dropper bottles, one bottle in a cardboard box);
- nasal spray 0.1%: in the form of a colorless, transparent liquid, odorless and without visible particles (10 ml in plastic bottles with a mechanical dosing applicator, one bottle in a cardboard box).
Composition of 1 ml drops:
- active ingredient: naphazoline nitrate – 0.5 mg or 1 mg;
- auxiliary components: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, boric acid, water, ethylenediamine.
Composition of 1 ml spray:
- active ingredient: naphazoline nitrate – 1 mg;
- auxiliary components: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, boric acid, water, ethylenediamine.
Varieties of Sanorin
There are several types of Sanorin drops on the pharmaceutical market:
- With eucalyptus. Sanorin with eucalyptus oil is one of the most popular types of this drug. It has pronounced antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Sanorin with eucalyptus oil has the fastest possible therapeutic effect, which is due to the parallel action of naphazoline and eucalyptus oil.
- Sanorin Analergin - includes a component such as antazoline mesylate, which has an antihistamine and sedative effect. Antazoline prevents the development of reactions of allergic origin, and also helps to eliminate them as quickly as possible. This type of remedy is especially effective for allergic rhinitis and in cases of diagnosed allergic conjunctivitis.
- Sanorin Xylo is a softer and safer option for drops. Unlike other types of this drug, the main active ingredient of Sanorin Xylo is xylometazoline, which has an exclusively local effect, with virtually no penetration into the systemic bloodstream. This particular medicine is recommended for use in children, as well as during pregnancy, but only as prescribed by the attending physician and in minimal dosages!
pharmachologic effect
The main active component of Sanorin is naphazoline, which belongs to alpha2-adrenergic agonists. This substance has a local vasoconstrictor effect on the capillaries of the nasal mucosa, eliminating the symptoms of acute inflammation - swelling, increased exudation and hyperemia.
In the case of acute rhinitis, the use of Sanorin helps restore nasal breathing, and in case of otitis and other diseases of the nasopharynx, it restores the patency of the Eustachian tube.
Eucalyptus oil, which is part of the emulsion, enhances the anti-inflammatory effect. Very often, the drug is used as a decongestant during the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis. Treatment with Sanorin for more than 7 days is contraindicated, as it is addictive and causes unwanted reactions.
Indications for use
The use of Sanorin is recommended for:
- acute rhinitis of various origins;
- otitis media, as an additional remedy that can reduce swelling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa;
- sinusitis;
- eustachitis;
- laryngitis;
- the need to reduce swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose, paranasal sinuses and nasopharynx during therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, as well as to stop nosebleeds.
Contraindications
- tachycardia;
- arterial hypertension;
- chronic rhinitis;
- diabetes;
- thyrotoxicosis;
- severe atherosclerosis;
- angle-closure glaucoma;
- children under 2 years of age - for nasal drops 0.05%, up to 15 years - for emulsion, drops and spray 0.1%;
- simultaneous use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and 14 days after their discontinuation;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
- coronary heart disease (angina pectoris);
- pheochromocytoma;
- prostatic hyperplasia;
- pregnancy and lactation.
Prescription during pregnancy and lactation
At the moment, no specific studies have been conducted on the effects of sanorin on pregnancy. There is no data refuting or confirming the penetration of the active ingredients of sanorin through the hematoplacental barrier (prevents the penetration of harmful substances from the mother’s blood into the fetal blood).
Based on these data, we can say that sanorin does not have a direct effect on the child. But by affecting the mother’s body, it can disrupt her blood circulation and, as a result, disrupt the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the child. Thus, sanorin can indirectly through the mother have a negative effect on the child.
The use of sanorin is not strictly contraindicated during pregnancy, but is extremely undesirable due to little knowledge of its effect on the intrauterine development of the child. It should only be used if prescribed by a doctor or in case of severe nosebleeds that cannot be stopped. In case of bleeding, it is necessary to drip a single dose into both nasal passages. If the bleeding does not stop within 10 to 15 minutes, you should call an ambulance or consult a doctor. If you experience repeated nosebleeds, you must consult a doctor.
Dosage and method of administration
As indicated in the instructions for use for acute rhinitis, sinusitis, eustachitis, laryngitis, to facilitate rhinoscopy for adults, children and adolescents over 15 years of age - 1-3 drops of 0.1% nasal drops or 1-3 doses of nasal spray in each nasal passage 3-4 times/day; nasal drops 0.1% in the form of an emulsion are prescribed 1-3 drops in each nasal passage 2-3 times a day.
- Children over 2 years old - 1-2 drops of 0.05% nasal drops in each nasal passage 2-3 times a day with an interval of at least 4 hours.
- Use for a short time: in adults - no more than 1 week, in children - no more than 3 days. If nasal breathing becomes easier, the use of Sanorin can be stopped earlier. Repeated use of the drug is possible after a few days.
- In case of nosebleeds, you can place a cotton swab moistened with a 0.05% solution of Sanorin into the nasal passage.
- As an additional remedy in the treatment of conjunctivitis of bacterial origin, nasal drops 0.05% are instilled into the conjunctival sac, 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day.
- Nasal drops in the form of an emulsion must be shaken before use. An open bottle of the drug should be used within 4 weeks.
When using the spray for the first time, it is recommended to press the dispensing device several times until a compact cloud of aerosol appears. Before direct use, remove the protective cap, keep the bottle with the drug in an upright position, insert the end part of the dosing device into the nasal passage, then quickly and sharply press the applicator. Immediately after injection, it is recommended to take a light breath through your nose. After using the drug, close the applicator with the protective cap.
Side effect
While using the drug, systemic side effects may develop, including:
Local reactions may also develop:
- reactive hyperemia;
- swelling of the nasal mucosa;
- irritation and swelling of the mucous membrane (if the drug is used for more than 7 days).
Overdose
In case of overdose, nasal congestion is noted. Long-term use of the drug leads to addiction, since constant congestion interferes with normal nasal breathing.
In young children, an overdose of Sanorin is manifested by the following symptoms: general weakness, increased sweating, drowsiness, slow heart rate and decreased body temperature. In severe cases, an overdose of the drug can cause coma.
special instructions
Naphazoline nitrate may have a resorptive effect.
With long-term use of Sanorin, the severity of its vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases, and therefore, if long-term treatment is necessary, it is recommended to take a break for several days: for adults after 5-7 days of treatment, for children after 3 days.
Caution should be exercised when performing general anesthesia with the use of anesthetics that increase the sensitivity of the myocardium to sympathomimetics (for example, halothane), especially in patients with bronchial asthma.
There is no information about the penetration of naphazoline through the placental barrier and into breast milk, therefore, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug can be prescribed only after a careful assessment of the benefits and possible risks.
Interaction with other drugs
Concomitant use with MAO inhibitors and for a period of up to 14 days after the end of their use increases the risk of developing severe arterial hypertension (release of deposited catecholamines under the influence of naphazoline). Slows down the absorption of local anesthetics.
Reviews
We invite you to read the reviews of people who have used the drug Sanorin:
- Milana. It helps my daughter very well with a runny nose and stuffy nose. She gets a cold, then her teeth are cutting, and so the sniffles appear. You have to drip frequently, the effect is felt the next day. And the shape is comfortable. Previously, the two of them held the child to get a pipette into the nose, but now once - and it’s done! The girl sleeps peacefully, eats well, without whims.
- Vladislav. Spent a sleepless night thanks to Sanorin. The effect is short, you don’t notice how you wake up with a stuffy nose, then another dose in the nose, and then insomnia, again nasal congestion, tachycardia.
- Allah. During pregnancy, my nose is constantly stuffy. This is not a cold, but such a bad state. And the higher the air temperature, the stronger the congestion. I used different drugs, because one becomes addictive. One day I took this Sanorin. Of course, the spray dispenser is convenient, but tiny and expensive. The instructions say to spray 7-8 times a day for 2 weeks. So this bottle is not enough for that much, you need to buy more. But that would be okay if the medicine helped. I sprayed several times during the night, but I could not sleep, my nose was constantly stuffy.

One comment
Recently I began to have an exacerbation of sinusitis, and that’s when I became acquainted with Sanorin drops. The doctor prescribed them for me, but advised me to buy children’s ones - they have less risk of addiction, and the effect is similar. I listened to the doctor. I don’t know how the adult drops would have affected me, but the children’s drops really didn’t cause any negative effects. It became easier to breathe within 2 minutes. Now I can sleep peacefully at night without suffocating. The product is very strong, since it helps with sinusitis, I recommend it.

Instructions for use Sanorin (method and dosage)
The drug is used only intranasally.
Adults and children over 15 years of age: 1–3 drops or 1–3 doses (drops or spray) in each nasal passage 3–4 times a day.
Children from 2 to 15 years: 1 - 2 drops in each nasal passage 2 - 3 times a day with an interval of at least 4 hours.
Sanorin should be used short-term: for adults – no more than 1 week, for children – no more than 3 days. If nasal breathing becomes easier, the use of the drug can be stopped earlier. Re-use is possible after a few days.
In case of nosebleeds, you can place a cotton swab moistened with a 0.05% solution of the drug into the nasal passage.
During rhinoscopy to prolong surface anesthesia: 2–4 drops of a 0.1% solution with 1 ml of anesthetic.
Sanorin, drops: instill into each nasal passage with the head tilted back slightly. When instilling into the left nasal passage, you should tilt your head to the right, when instilling into the right nasal passage - to the left.
When using Sanorin spray for the first time, it is recommended to press the dispensing device several times until a compact cloud of aerosol appears. Before irrigating the nasal sinuses, remove the protective cap, keep the bottle in an upright position, insert the end part of the dosing device into the nasal passage, and then quickly and sharply press the applicator. Immediately after injection, inhale lightly through your nose. After using the drug, close the applicator with the protective cap.
Side effects
The use of Sanorin may cause side effects such as increased blood pressure; headache; heart rhythm disturbance; dryness of the nasal mucosa, which leads to capillary fragility, thereby provoking nosebleeds; nausea; hives.

Do not decide to change the drug on your own; consult your doctor.
pharmachologic effect
Treatment with Sanorin for more than 7 days is contraindicated, as it is addictive and causes unwanted reactions.
special instructions
Caution is required when performing general anesthesia with the use of anesthetics that increase the sensitivity of the myocardium to sympathomimetics (halothane), especially in patients with bronchial asthma.
Long-term use of the drug is not recommended.
Due to the possible development of side effects from the cardiovascular system and nervous system, the recommended dosage of the drug should not be exceeded.
The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions, taking into account the side effect profile.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding
If it is necessary to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the expected benefits of therapy for the mother and the possible risk to the fetus should be assessed.
In childhood
Approved for use by children over 2 years of age.
With long-term use, the severity of the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), and therefore it is recommended that after 3 days of use in children, take a break for several days.
In old age
Drug interactions
When using the drug simultaneously with MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants (and within 14 days after stopping their use), blood pressure may increase, which is due to the release of deposited catecholamines under the influence of naphazoline. Therefore, the use of the drug Sanorin simultaneously with MAO inhibitors and within 14 days after their discontinuation is contraindicated.
Naphazoline slows down the absorption of local anesthetics, which leads to an increase in the duration of their action.
Conditions for dispensing from pharmacies
Available without a prescription.

Store in a place protected from light and out of reach of children at a temperature of +10... +25°C.
Shelf life – 4 years.

Sanorin
Description current as of 12/10/2015
- Latin name: Sanorin
- ATX code: R01AA08
- Active ingredient: Naphazoline
- Manufacturer: IVAX Pharmaceuticals sro (Czech Republic), Teva Czech Industries sro (Czech Republic)
Compound
The drug contains the active component naphazoline nitrate.
Additional components: ethylenediamine, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, boric acid and water.
Release form
Sanorin is produced in the form of nasal drops 0.05% or 0.1%, packaged in bottles with a dropper.
pharmachologic effect
The drops are characterized by an anticongestive and vasoconstrictive effect.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
The active component, naphazoline, is an alpha2-adrenergic agonist that can influence alpha-adrenergic receptors of the sympathetic nervous system. As a result of intranasal administration, a rapid, long-lasting and pronounced effect occurs, aimed at the condition of the vessels of the mucous membranes of the nose, sinuses and nasopharynx. This helps reduce the appearance of swelling and hyperemia, improving the patency of the nasal passages and significantly facilitating nasal breathing. Patency in the Eustachian tubes is also restored. Typically, the therapeutic effect is felt within 5 minutes after using the drops, lasting an average of 5 hours.
Indications for use
The use of drops is recommended for:
- acute rhinitis of various origins;
- otitis media, as an additional remedy that can reduce swelling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa;
- sinusitis;
- eustachitis;
- laryngitis;
- the need to reduce swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose, paranasal sinuses and nasopharynx during therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, as well as to stop nosebleeds.
Contraindications
The use of drops is not recommended for:
In addition, drops of 0.05% are not prescribed to small patients under 2 years of age, and a 0.1% solution is not prescribed to children under 15 years of age.
Side effects
Sanorin is usually well tolerated by patients when used in acceptable dosages.
Sometimes patients with hypersensitivity experience a burning sensation and dryness in the nose. Frequent and prolonged use of drops leads to chronic obstruction of the nasal passages or atrophy of the nasal mucosa.
Instructions for use of Sanorin (Method and dosage)
Sanorin medicinal drops instructions for use recommend using strictly as directed. A 0.1% solution is intended for intranasal use for patients over 15 years of age. The product is instilled daily 3-4 times, 1-3 drops into each nasal passage.
When 0.05% Sanorin is used for children 2-15 years old, then 1-2 drops are instilled into the nose 2-3 times every day. It is recommended to maintain an interval between instillations of at least 4 hours. In addition, you can use a special children's Sanorin.
In any case, this drug is used for a short time, up to 1 week for adult patients and Sanorin for children can be instilled for no more than 3 days.
If nasal breathing becomes easier, you can immediately stop using the solution. Repeated use of drops is allowed only after a few days.
If nosebleeds occur, cotton swabs soaked in a 0.05% solution are placed in each nasal passage. When performing rhinoscopy, in order to prolong surface anesthesia, 2-4 drops of a 0.1% solution with 1 ml of anesthetic are instilled.
It is best to tilt your head back a little when instilling the solution, and after instilling into each nasal passage, it is recommended to tilt your head in the opposite direction. By the way, Sanorin emulsion can also be used, the instructions for use of which are almost the same.
Sanorin during pregnancy and lactation
As the instructions for Sanorin indicate, during pregnancy and lactation the use of drops is sometimes allowed, since there is no accurate data on its effect on the fetus or child. Therefore, before prescribing its use, you need to correctly assess the possible risks and expected benefits.
Overdose
In cases of overdose, the results of systemic effects on the human body may appear in the form of nervousness, increased sweating, headaches, tremors, tachycardia, palpitations and high blood pressure. Also signs of overdose are: nausea, cyanosis, high temperature, respiratory and mental disorders.
Disturbances in the activity of the nervous system are possible, which may manifest themselves as: bradycardia, weakness, drowsiness, decreased body temperature, high sweating, collapse. In this case, symptomatic therapy is carried out.
Interaction
The combination of this drug and monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants often leads to an increase in blood pressure due to the release of stored catecholamines due to the effects of naphazoline. Therefore, drops or spray can be used only 14 days after stopping MAO inhibitors. It has also been found that the drug affects the absorption of local anesthetics, slowing or accelerating it.

Reviews about Sanorin
This drug is especially actively discussed by pregnant women. For some, it turned out to be quite difficult to do without the medicine that has always helped them very well. Moreover, some ladies are not going to give it up at all, and for some, doctors even prescribe these drops. At the same time, women who already have children say that during pregnancy they used this medicine, and there was no harm from it.
Also, reviews of Sanorin are often associated with the treatment of children. Although usually in such cases a children's drug is used, the solution of which contains a lower concentration of the active substance. However, many experts argue that any medicines based on naphazoline are not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation and for the treatment of young children.
Sometimes patients report that Sanorin with eucalyptus oil provides a greater effect, it is more pleasant to use, and it dries out the mucous membranes less. Therefore, they prefer to use this particular tool. It is believed that drops with eucalyptus oil provide a long-lasting effect.
Among all the discussions of the drug, a separate topic can be identified regarding addiction to these drops. The fact is that, for example, with acute rhinitis, many people begin to use this particular medicine. It really helps relieve congestion, so patients sometimes use drops without observing the dosage and frequency of permissible instillations. However, people soon notice that they can breathe normally only after using this drug. This is the drug addiction, which some patients cannot get rid of for years.
The mechanism for the formation of such a dependence occurs as follows: long-term use of vasoconstrictor drugs leads to the fact that the mucous membrane loses its normal functioning. As a result, new swelling appears and constant use of the medication is required. Getting rid of drug addiction is quite difficult: you will have to endure a long recovery of the condition of the nasal membranes. At the same time, it is difficult for a person to breathe, headaches and other undesirable symptoms appear.
When using such drugs, it is necessary to remember that they can be treated as an adjuvant in the acute phase of the disease. If you do not follow the doctor’s instructions - use drops for a long time in large dosages, this usually causes serious consequences, the elimination of which may require a lot of effort and time.
