Nebulizer power

What types of nebulizers are there?

For diseases of the respiratory system, the most logical would be an aerosol supply of the drug, since the active components enter directly into the area of localization of inflammation - the respiratory tract.

Table of contents:

The obvious advantage of inhalation spraying is a rapid pharmacodynamic response, minimal risk of developing systemic reactions, treatment of the total area of the mucosa with less consumption of the drug.

The effectiveness of treatment is determined by the correct choice of device, taking into account the age, physiological characteristics of the patient, and clinical picture. What types of nebulizers are there, and what should you pay attention to when choosing them?

Types and prices of nebulizers

The term “nebulizer” is of Latin origin and translated “nebula” means fog, cloud. This is a device designed to deliver a pharmaceutical product to one or another part of the bronchopulmonary system.

The purpose of nebulizer therapy is to convert the liquid dosage form into a fine aerosol, which ensures the creation of high concentrations of the drug, achieving maximum therapeutic results while reducing the total dose of the drug, the duration of the course, and the absence of side effects.

Depending on the characteristics of the pathological processes, aerosol therapy can perform different tasks:

  • relieve bronchospasm;
  • sanitize the upper respiratory sections;
  • reduce inflammatory activity, swelling and hyperemia of the mucosa to a clinically insignificant level;
  • restore drainage of the bronchopulmonary tree;
  • change the rheology of sputum, improve its expectoration;
  • activate mucociliary clearance, mobility of cilia of the ciliated epithelium.

The accuracy of dosing, the non-traumatic nature of the procedure, and the easy technique allow the use of inhalations regardless of the severity of the disease without age restrictions (in pediatric practice they are allowed from the first days of life).

A list of medications for nasal inhalation is presented here.

The variability of devices and manufacturers on the domestic market creates difficulties in choosing a quality device. The classification of inhalation therapy devices is based on the principle of aerosol generation, according to which nebulizers are divided into three types:

Interesting! The first nebulizer was a steam one, created in 1859 in Paris (France). In 1930, the electric nebulizer (compressor) was introduced to the public, followed by the invention of the ultrasonic nebulizer in 1964.

Compressor inhalers

The demand for jet nebulizers is justified by high technical capabilities combined with an affordable price range. The device consists of an air generator and a liquid sprayer.

Air flow or oxygen is used to produce an aerosol. The working gas disperses the drug initially into a primary aerosol with the subsequent formation of particles ranging in size from 0.5 to 10 microns. Large aerosol particles are re-involved in the process of conversion into small elements.

The classification types of jet nebulizers are represented by the following list:

  • convection (the aerosol is dispersed during the inhalation and exhalation phases, due to which a significant part of the pharmaceutical product is lost);
  • activated by inhalation (when exhaling, a special valve stops the supply of the drug, which reduces the loss of aerosol);
  • dosimetric (synchronized with breathing).

A significant advantage of compressor devices is the ability to generate water-, alcohol-, and oil-based drugs while maintaining their pharmaceutical parameters. Disadvantage - depending on the model, different noise levels may occur.

The price difference is significant. A budget option would be nebulizers from Microlife, Little Doctor, B.Well, where the starting price is from 2350 rubles. The devices of the Japanese corporation Omron are distinguished by their high quality and high cost; the cost of the device ranges from 0 rubles.

Ultrasonic

The design consists of an ultrasonic transducer, a container for deionizing water, and a reservoir for the drug. In this device, aerosol production occurs due to high-frequency vibrations of a piezocrystal.

As a result of deformation of the crystal by a high-frequency signal (1–4 MHz), oscillatory movements are transferred to the surface of the medicinal liquid with the subsequent formation of a “geyser” and the release of an aerosol. Next, the primary aerosol particles are dispersed into smaller ones and inhaled, while the larger ones fall back into the solution.

The advantages of inhalers include compactness, quiet operation, high density and dispersion of sprayed particles, portability, and the ability to connect to a battery or vehicle cigarette lighter.

Nuance! In practice, the device has not become widespread due to the inefficiency of producing suspensions and solutions of viscous consistency and heating of medicinal substances during nebulization, which destroys the structure of high-molecular-weight drugs.

The price of ultrasonic nebulizers starts from 2500 rubles. (Beurer company) up to 5500 rubles (“Medisana”, “AND”).

Membrane

The modern generation of devices where the medicinal liquid is dispersed through a membrane plate with microscopic holes, of which there are up to six thousand.

They combine the best technical parameters of compressor and ultrasonic nebulizers: silent, high-performance, increase the effectiveness of the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, ARI of various origins with economical consumption of the drug with the ability to use a wide variety of pharmaceuticals.

The presence of a sealed chamber makes it possible to inhale in any position, even lying down. The main disadvantage is the high price range, which is 2-2.5 times higher than the cost of its predecessors.

For reference! When using dosage forms with a viscous consistency, there is a possibility of micro-holes becoming clogged with dispersing aerosol particles.

Comparative characteristics of top models of compressor devices

In pharmacies and online stores, you can choose a classic inhaler model or one designed for children in the shape of an animal. Any type of nebulizer must have a quality certificate, which will act as a guarantor of the characteristics declared by the manufacturer.

If we compare nebulizer-compressors from different manufacturers, they are not identical in terms of efficiency. An ideal delivery device for dosage forms should provide pulmonary deposition of doses of high concentrations, be simple and easy to use for respiratory pathologies of varying severity, and have no age restrictions.

For convenience, it is equipped with a carrying handle and a cable storage compartment. The price is lower by rubles, the average cost varies between 3000 – 3500 rubles. The main disadvantage is that it is difficult to obtain original components.

AND CN-233

The device is based on advanced technologies that allow the use of a nebulizer for acute or chronic bronchitis, asthma, and pneumonia. The reliability of the design is increased by the presence of the system against overheating. Powered by mains power, aerosol supply rate – 0.25 ml/min.

Compared to previous models, it is less powerful (60 W) and is characterized by an increased level of noise and vibration during operation. Is a budget option. Starting price – 1600 rubles.

For reference! The optimal choice for children in this category would be the AND CN-232 model in the shape of a dolphin. Its cost is much higher, and amounts to 3,500 rubles.

Which compressor nebulizer inhaler is better is determined by financial capabilities, the patient’s age and physiological characteristics. When choosing a device for a child, it is recommended to pay attention not only to the technical parameters, but also to the appearance. The best option would be AND CN-232. The Little Doctor LD-212C model is not inferior to it, except that it is 1.5 times cheaper.

Models from the Japanese brand “Omron” are positioned as reliable and high-performance devices for the whole family. Omron compaire C 28 is especially popular. The presence of a spray mode switch allows the drug to be used for a wide range of diseases of the respiratory system without age restrictions.

Conclusion

Modern inhalation therapy devices for home use must meet basic criteria, where the permissible residual volume of medicinal liquid should not exceed 1 ml, the optimal aerosol productivity is 6-10 ml/min, and the aerodynamic diameter of the particles is less than 5 microns. Before purchasing an inhaler, it is recommended that you read the device’s passport, which contains its technical parameters, and consult a medical professional.

Reviews

  • Tatyana, 24 years old: “When my daughter was diagnosed with bronchitis, the doctor prescribed us to undergo inhalations using a compressor nebulizer. When I first came to the pharmacy, I was a little confused and didn’t know which device would have the maximum effect, but I was still worried about the question of which compressor nebulizer is better. Afterwards, I looked up an inhaler on the Internet, the operation of which would be carried out using a solution prescribed by a doctor. As a result, I purchased a compressor nebulizer from Flaem Nuova. What I liked about it was its ease of use and quiet operation. In addition, it is very easy to clean after use. Within a week my child felt much better.”
  • Christina, 28 years old: “One day I decided to buy a nebulizer just to have it. I didn't think it was so difficult. First, I decided on the type: I decided on a compressor, because a large number of attachments allows it to be used by all family members. In addition, it can be used in the treatment of not only mild colds, but also chronic diseases. As for the company, the Omron nebulizer has earned my trust. It is inexpensive, but has an amazing effect. I felt it when my son had a runny nose. We inhaled 3-4 times a day, and after 5 days this cold symptom was eliminated.”
  • Lyubov, 35 years old: “Since my daughter has bronchial asthma, a compressor nebulizer is an indispensable thing in our home. A friend also had such a device, so I didn’t bother and bought the same one. PARI GmbH. Although it is not cheap, the effect is simply amazing. After this treatment, my child feels better and the severe coughing attacks go away. Caring for the device is also very simple; you just need to thoroughly wash all the parts and let them dry. Of course, there is noise during operation of the inhaler, but it is not significant.”

A compressor nebulizer is a popular device for treating various respiratory diseases. Thanks to the presence of virtual valves, it is possible to evenly distribute the medicinal solution, and most importantly, deliver it to the lower parts of the respiratory organs. The results of inhalations are achieved very quickly, as is the healing process itself. In addition to the compression inhaler, the ultrasonic nebulizer inhaler and the children's steam inhaler are also popular. Also read which is the best inhaler for a child.

How to choose a nebulizer

Before purchasing a nebulizer that best suits your family, you need to familiarize yourself with the main characteristics and features of the device.

  1. Steam supply mode. With continuous supply, a large amount of the drug is lost, since the aerosol is supplied regardless of whether the patient inhales or exhales. In manual inhalers, you can stop the steam supply by pressing a button. In automatic medical devices, fluid loss is minimized, since special electronic sensors open the valve only when the patient inhales.
  2. Minimum particle size when spraying. This is the main indicator of the effectiveness of the nebulizer. The smaller the size of the sprayed particles, the deeper they penetrate into the respiratory system. For the treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract, 5 microns are sufficient, and for deeper penetration into the lungs, a mesh nebulizer with a droplet size of 3-4 microns is suitable.
  3. Volume. In ultrasonic devices the container holds ml. Compressor models must hold at least 100 ml of the drug, since its consumption is greater than in other types of inhalers. In mesh nebulizers, the reservoir volume is only 15 ml, but this is enough for several sessions.
  4. Spray speed. The duration of the procedure depends on this indicator - the higher the speed, the faster the medicine enters the respiratory tract. For children, it is better to choose devices with a flow rate of 1-2 ml/min, and for the whole family, devices with a flow rate of 0.25-0.5 ml/min are suitable.
  5. Noise level. Meshes are considered the quietest inhalers, while compression inhalers, on the contrary, are distinguished by their loudness.
  6. Portability. The devices can operate either from mains power or from built-in rechargeable batteries.
  7. Continuous operation time. Some devices require a break after a minute of operation, which may prevent you from repeating the procedure.

Nebulizer – which one is better to choose for home use?

In this article, we will introduce you to the types of nebulizers, note their pros and cons - this will help you get rid of mistakes when choosing a particular device for you.

The name of this medical device comes from the Latin word nebula, i.e. “fog”. Despite the fact that nebulizers first appeared in our homes relatively recently, the device was created at the end of the 19th century. It was a glass vessel with tubes in which steam was generated due to the heating of the solution. It was not until 1938 that the first manual balloon inhaler, reminiscent of a perfume atomizer, appeared. Further, nebulizer models were improved, and individual metered-dose inhalers were invented to make them possible to use at home.

What types of nebulizers are there for home use?

In order not to make a mistake and choose the right nebulizer for home use, you need to familiarize yourself with the types of these devices and study their differences and technical characteristics. You should not purchase such a device on the recommendation of friends, because each person is individual.

Today, consumers are offered three types of models:

  • compressor nebulizers - create an aerosol cloud using a compressor that supplies a powerful air stream through a narrow opening in a chamber with a medicinal solution; they are the most common and can spray almost all medications;
  • ultrasonic nebulizers - create an aerosol cloud by exposing a medicinal solution to a high-frequency ultrasonic flow, but they can destroy some drugs (mucolytics, hormonal agents, antibiotics) and are suitable for spraying only some medicinal solutions;
  • electronic mesh (or mesh) nebulizers - create an aerosol cloud using a vibrating membrane (plate) with multiple tiny holes through which the medicinal solution is passed, the structure of the substances is not disturbed and there are no restrictions on use.

Pros and cons of different types of nebulizers

Compressor nebulizers are capable of breaking medicinal substances into tiny particles (up to 0.5 microns) and delivering them to the most remote and inaccessible parts of the respiratory system, making treatment as effective as possible. They can be used for spraying any medicinal solutions and are suitable for patients suffering from frequent acute respiratory viral infections, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, and bronchial asthma. These devices are easy to use and can be easily used at home.

The disadvantages of compressor nebulizers include: large size and high noise level during operation of the device, the ability to perform inhalation only in a vertical position.

Ultrasonic nebulizers have a good therapeutic effect for colds and can treat the entire surface of the respiratory system during a session (10–15 minutes). The devices can be used in different body positions. They are easy to use, there are battery-powered models for travel, they do not create much noise and can be used for inhalation for both children and adults.

The most significant disadvantage of ultrasonic nebulizers is that ultrasound can destroy many medicinal substances and make them ineffective. For inhalation, you can use saline solutions, decoctions of medicinal herbs or essential oils, but the use of solutions of antibiotics, mucolytic and hormonal agents is completely excluded. These devices also require the purchase of special medicine cups, which creates additional costs.

Electronic mesh nebulizers combine all the best qualities of the two types of devices described above. They can be used for spraying any medicinal solutions without restrictions, are absolutely silent and are suitable for inhalation in any body position (even while sleeping). Inhalation can be performed at any angle of inclination of the nebulizer chamber, which makes these devices indispensable for treating infants and bedridden patients. Special attachments for them allow the device to be used for inhalation by both children and adults. Mesh nebulizers are recommended by most doctors and are considered universal and most effective.

The only disadvantage of the electronic mesh nebulizer is its relatively high price.

Reservoir capacity for medicinal solutions

All nebulizer models have a special reservoir for the medicinal solution. It should have a maximum volume and contain the amount of solution that is necessary to perform one inhalation, since interrupting it is not only inconvenient, but can also reduce the effectiveness of the procedure. When purchasing a nebulizer, it is important to pay attention to this parameter of the device.

In ultrasonic and compressor nebulizers, after completion of the procedure, a so-called residual volume remains (the remainder of the medicinal solution that has not turned into an aerosol). For a more complete delivery of the drug dose, it is recommended to increase the volume of saline solution to the maximum so that most of the drug is transformed into an aerosol cloud and has a therapeutic effect. Residual volume is not formed in electronic mesh nebulizers - which is why the choice of such models is most appropriate.

When purchasing a nebulizer model, be sure to pay attention to such a parameter as “aerosol performance”. The higher this parameter, the less time will need to be spent on inhalation. It is especially important to take into account this indicator of the device when purchasing a nebulizer for a child, since the difference in the duration of the procedure (10 or 20 minutes) is quite significant for them.

How to choose the right nebulizer for an infant?

Inhalations using a nebulizer are painless and effective, so this type of treatment is widely used in pediatric practice.

Before purchasing a nebulizer for your child, be sure to consult with your pediatrician. Despite the fact that today a fairly wide range of inhalers for infants is produced and these devices are safe and easy to use, consultation with a doctor who is well acquainted with the individual characteristics of the child will not be superfluous.

Indications for using a nebulizer for children:

  • prevention or treatment of bronchitis, tracheitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchial asthma, tuberculosis;
  • elimination of symptoms - dry painful cough, dry throat, removal of phlegm;
  • activation of blood flow for faster recovery;
  • nervous diseases - asthenia, depression, insomnia, etc.;
  • endocrine diseases - obesity, diabetes.

The nebulizer kit for an infant includes the following additional devices:

Ultrasonic and compression devices come with attachments for the whole family. When choosing a nebulizer model for an infant, be sure to make sure that the nose tip and breathing mask are made of soft material.

To facilitate use, today nebulizers are produced in the form of toys that can make the treatment process fun and interesting for the child. A fun game (for example, with a train or cow inhaler) will be ideal therapy for children with certain types of allergic diseases, bronchitis or bronchial asthma.

The most good reviews among nebulizers for children have been earned by completely silent electronic mesh models in a conventional design. They can be used even while the child is sleeping (for example, if he does not want to inhale).

What should you keep in mind when buying a nebulizer?

Before purchasing a nebulizer you should remember:

  1. To warm up the respiratory tract, you need to purchase an ultrasonic steam inhaler.
  2. Nebulizers are needed to deliver medication to specific areas of the respiratory system. Before purchasing them, you need to decide which part of the respiratory system needs to be treated. To treat the most remote areas, nebulizers are needed that are capable of breaking down the medicinal solution into the smallest particles (for example, ultrasonic or mesh).
  3. The easiest to use is a compressor nebulizer.
  4. The most versatile is the electronic mesh nebulizer.
  5. The standard inhalation time should be about 15 minutes. When purchasing a device, it is necessary to take into account the capacity of the reservoir for the medicinal solution - it should be sufficient so that there is no need to interrupt the procedure to refill it.
  6. When choosing a nebulizer for use while traveling, you should choose a battery-powered model.
  7. Each device must be accompanied by a document confirming its certification and testing according to the European standards for nebulizer therapy (prEN).

Our article will help you not to get confused among the wide range of nebulizers and choose the device that is right for you and your family. Effective inhalations will become faithful assistants in the quick fight against many diseases of the respiratory system and speed up recovery.

How to choose an inhaler? Let's dot all the i's

Hello, dear friends!

At the request of one of my readers, I decided to finally understand nebulizers and make a cheat sheet for you on them.

When I start such an analysis, I always try to understand what is hidden behind your: “tell me about nebulizers”?

In other words, what do you want to find here:

  • Review of different models of the same brand?
  • What are the differences between similar models from different brands?
  • General information about this product group?

I looked at the range of nebulizers in different pharmacies. I counted 6-7 brands. I don’t know which ones are available specifically in your pharmacy.

So I will talk about basic things and highlight the features of different models of several brands presented in pharmacies, and tell you how to choose an inhaler to suit the buyer’s needs.

But first, a few words about steam inhalers.

You also have these in your assortment.

Steam inhalers

Probably each of you remembers this mockery of your little blood, when you hold her on your knees, her legs are tightly squeezed between your legs, her hands are also “under control”, a tent of terry towel stretches over you, and you carry out an inhalation execution over a saucepan with soda solution or potatoes.

The child screams like a fool, trying to escape from your tight embrace. But you say to yourself: “It’s okay, let him yell, it’s even good: take a deeper breath!” And you continue to “breathe” in company with him, sweating, and at the same time cleaning the pores of your “interface.”

And what’s interesting: we sincerely believed that this was a super-effective method of treatment for any ARVI. Many continue to believe to this day. Although this is not always the case.

Since the flow of creative human thought cannot be stopped, saucepans were replaced by various “Chamomiles” and cooler steam inhalers, which made this procedure more enjoyable and safer.

But the meaning remains the same:

In such inhalers, the therapeutic effect is due to the thermal effect and inhalation of vapors of essential oils.

Pros of steam inhalers

  1. Particles of the healing substance settle specifically at the site of inflammation and exert their beneficial effect.
  2. Relatively inexpensive.
  3. They can use both herbal decoctions and essential oils, i.e. such solutions that are most often not recommended for use in nebulizers.

Cons of steam inhalers

  1. Steam inhalation should not be done at elevated temperatures.
  2. You can accidentally touch it, knock it over, spill hot solution and get burned (this applies to antediluvian models).
  3. In babies, this can even cause a burn to the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract.
  4. It is not easy to hold a child behind such a device.

True, now very cute steam inhalers in the form of toys have appeared on the market, so even an unpleasant treatment procedure can be turned into a game.

But with the advent of modern nebulizer inhalation devices, the question arises:

Maybe steam inhalers are not needed at all?

No, they are still needed.

The fact is that such inhalation, firstly, moisturizes the mucous membrane, softening all crusts, dry mucus clots and freeing the upper respiratory tract from them.

Secondly, the particles of essential oils are large, about 10 microns, which is exactly what is needed for treating the UPPER respiratory tract.

See what size particles go where:

8-10 microns – oral cavity.

5-8 microns – nasopharynx, larynx.

3-5 microns – trachea, bronchi.

1-3 microns – bronchioles

0.5 – 2 microns – alveoli.

conclusions

Steam inhalation is good for rhinitis, pharyngitis, but is ineffective for laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, since large particles of the drug simply will not get into these parts of the respiratory tract.

So we got to nebulizers.

Nebulizers

The word "nebulizer" comes from the Latin "nebula", which translates as "cloud", "fog". Such inhalers convert medications into an aerosol, small particles of which penetrate the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and even alveoli.

Nebulizers “break” the drug into particles of different sizes. Most of them, approximately 70-75%, have a size of 2-5 microns.

If we treat laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, we use nebulizers.

If we treat rhinitis, pharyngitis, we use steam inhalers.

True, the instructions for most nebulizers say that they are suitable for treating both the upper and lower respiratory tract, even if they operate in the same mode.

Don't believe it! 🙂 This is a marketing ploy. When treating a runny nose, the most they do is moisturize the mucous membrane. Very little of the drug settles in the nasal cavity, and this amount is not enough for a therapeutic effect.

(However, there are exceptions to the rules where the size of aerosol particles can be adjusted).

And the instructions also say that nebulizers are used to prevent respiratory diseases.

Tell me, please, if everything is fine with the faucet in your bathroom, will you change it? It wouldn’t even occur to you, would it? Why interfere with something that is already working fine?

For what purpose and through what mechanisms do the manufacturers of these medical devices offer the prevention of ARVI? I don't understand this. Maybe you know?

Well, God be with them.

Types of nebulizers

There are 3 types of nebulizers.

  • Compressor
  • Ultrasonic
  • Mesh nebulizers. Other names for them: electronic mesh, membrane.

Compressor nebulizer

It is also called inkjet. To explain it in a simple way, it would be like this: a stream of air under high pressure is passed through the drug, due to which it turns into an aerosol.

Pros:

  • You can use any medications intended for inhalation in nebulizers, including hormones and antibiotics.
  • Relatively low price.

Minuses:

  • Sometimes it makes a lot of noise, which can scare children.
  • It is often quite large in size and weight.

How do compressor nebulizers differ from each other?

  • The presence of different operating modes, thanks to which the inhaler can produce medicinal particles of various sizes. Such devices (in fact, there are only a few of them) are suitable for the treatment of any respiratory diseases, ranging from a runny nose to pneumonia.
  • Weight. This is important if a person leads a traveling lifestyle and plans to take the inhaler with them.
  • The volume of the rattling.
  • The power of the air jet. If it is weak, buyers say that they don’t feel anything at all.
  • Operating mode. If the mode is intermittent (it turns off and then on), this may or may not be good. Good - that means the nebulizer is not overheating. Not very good - if several family members are sick and undergo this procedure one after another.
  • Consumption of medicine. The aerosol can penetrate the respiratory tract only at the moment of inhalation. At the moment of exhalation, 70% of it is lost in the air, that is, 70% of the cost of the drug flies down the drain. Therefore, manufacturers come up with different things so that the medicine is spent sparingly.
  • Can be powered by batteries or car batteries. Such nebulizers are always at hand.
  • And a number of other parameters, which you will see in the table below.

Ultrasonic nebulizer

In it, the drug is converted into an “aerosol” due to the effect of ultrasound on it.

Pros:

  • Silent.
  • Easy.
  • Compact.
  • Economical consumption of medicine.
  • Ultrasound destroys the structure of some drugs, in particular antibiotics and hormones. This reduces his capabilities.

Different models differ in weight, operating mode, equipment and some bells and whistles that distinguish them from their competitors.

Mesh nebulizer (membrane, electronic mesh)

It has a vibrating membrane with many tiny holes. Passing through it, the drug turns into an aerosol and is not destroyed.

This is the coolest device in every way.

Pros:

  1. Easy.
  2. Compact.
  3. Silent.
  4. Economical consumption of medicine.
  5. All types of medicines can be used.
  6. Works at any angle.

Minuses:

  • High price.
  • Very careful care and careful use are required.

How to choose an inhaler?

And here is the promised comparison table, which, upon careful study, gives a comprehensive answer to the question: how to choose an inhaler? I analyzed popular brands: Omron, A&D, B.Well, one of the most interesting, in my opinion, the Microlife model and nebulizers from the Italian company MED 2000. Some pharmacies have them.

I did not pay attention to the technical subtleties of the models, but took the most common needs of buyers. I think it would be more correct this way.

To download the table, click on its image:

Many models come with two masks (adult and child) and a mouthpiece. Its other name is mouthpiece. This is a mouthpiece, thanks to which the medicine is directed directly into the mouth without spraying.

Masks are recommended for children under 3 years of age and weakened patients who cannot hold a mouthpiece with their lips.

Some models have a nasal attachment or cannula. It is used to treat rhinitis (this applies to inhalers used to treat not only the lower but also the upper respiratory tract) and moisturize the nasal mucosa.

This is where I’ll wrap up today, because once again it’s not a blog post, but a whole treatise. 🙂

If you have any questions, write! If you have anything to add, I will be glad to see your comments.

I look forward to seeing you next time, since I haven’t yet told you about the medications that are used in nebulizers, what questions a buyer should definitely ask when selling a nebulizer, and how to choose the optimal inhaler for each buyer’s needs.

With love to you, Marina Kuznetsova

Good afternoon Interesting article, thanks! But mesh inhalers have one drawback - you cannot use herbal decoctions, as they clog the mesh and after 1-2 uses the nebulizer will have to be thrown away.

Marina, thanks for the comment! In the next article we will definitely talk about this.

Good afternoon, Marina! When I found you, I printed everything out and gave it to the girls pharmacists, they were interested in everything, they read everything and learned it, you might say. I thought you were like everyone else, and as always, you write once a year and that’s it. but no, I receive from you every week. Thank you for everything. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Alice, thank you for your feedback! I write 2-3 articles a week. And God grant that I have the strength, patience and health to write, and for you to read and “digest” all this. Happy New Year to you too!

Marina, hello! Thank you! You write about everything so interestingly and in an accessible form. I read all the materials with great interest, copy them, and print them out. I made a special folder where I file all the printouts. And this folder is a kind of “handbook” for me. I learned a lot thanks to you.

Thank you so much again and Happy New Year!

Olga, good evening! Thank you for such a warm review! Come again! Happy New Year, you!

Marina, can I have another article about tonometers and accu-chek? Thank you.

Definitely, Anna! Thank you!

Thank you for such an accessible, interesting presentation of such an important issue) I will follow your next topics)) I have been looking for similar reviews for a long time)))

Tatyana, thank you for your feedback! Come again!

Thank you for the article. I was really looking forward to it. You are great

Good evening, thanks for all your articles. Recently, prescriptions have included the prescription of a hydrocortisone suspension for inhalation through a nebulizer. The instructions for the nebulizer indicate that suspensions cannot be used. What to do?

Olga, here is nikafarm.ru/kak-vybrat-do. -i-chast-vtoraya we talked about drugs that can be used in nebulizers. Among others, there are hormones, and in the form of suspensions.

But the possibility of their use in nebulizer therapy is provided for in the instructions. As for hydrocortisone, I really haven’t found any indication of this.

Therefore, if you see such a purpose, tell the buyer that you are a little confused by this use of hydrocortisone, since there are special products for nebulizers. And if you use other drugs, this may damage the device. Therefore, advise the buyer to check this point with a doctor. And tell me that there are other hormonal agents that CAN be used in nebulizers.

Marina, how clever you are for creating such a blog!! May God give you health and strength for many, many articles!!

Good day! Marina, thank you very much for your work. I’m getting ready to return to work from maternity leave, I’m refreshing my memory with your help

But still, with all the advantages of mesh inhalers, the average aerosol particle size is smaller for compressor inhalers - 4.2 microns and 3 microns, respectively (as for Omron)

Everything will be found!
