Is it possible to be born without pleura?

is it possible to be born without pleura

In the section Other about health and beauty, to the question My girlfriend claims that she was born without a hymen. Can this happen? If so, why? The best answer given by the author Anatoly Kurakov is This can happen.

Table of contents:

This happens and is called aplasia. To test (not 100%) your girlfriend for virginity - look at her labia - if they are darkish and not closed tightly when standing, then she is most likely not a virgin. I repeat, this is not 100%, since she could masturbate and rub them that way. If the entire perineum is pink and the labia are tightly closed in a standing position, then she is a virgin. And in general, don’t even think about breaking up with her because of this. You love her, after all. Trust her. I think she's a virgin.

It can’t, but they are so diverse that it happens that there are almost none.

This can’t be true:) but if she played sports or just danced as a child, she could have torn herself while stretching:)

Or she's hiding something from you.

I don’t think that another explanation for the fact of the absence of a hymen will please you.

They said that if it was so, then it was so.

Think about it! How does she know this?

How can she know this?

I was born without it, never using tampons, I went to the gynecologist and she told me that the hymen was missing and I was not sexually active

There is no hymen from birth, can this be?

The fact that a girl does not have a hymen from the moment of birth is quite possible; it has been scientifically proven that this happens (albeit extremely rarely).

The hymen can be of different shapes and is located in all girls, it is individual (for some, it is closer to the entrance to the vagina, and for others, it is located deeper from the entrance). The hymen can be very elastic - so much so that even after starting sexual activity, it can be stretched and not tear (neither the first time nor subsequent times during sexual intercourse). There have been cases where women's hymen was torn already during childbirth, although before the moment of childbirth they had an active sex life.

The presence of a hymen is characteristic of females of only two biological species, humans and monkeys.

This is one of the signs of the species. It happens, of course, that people are born with an incomplete set of organs, but most often the hymen is there, it just has a special configuration and location, due to which it raises suspicions about its absence. It lasts until the last moment and breaks through only during childbirth.

The absence of a hymen in a girl from birth is possible and this is observed, although such a phenomenon is extremely rare. The girl's mother's doctors do not find out about this until the girl becomes an adult and visits the gynecologist's office for an examination. After examining the girl by a gynecologist, it may become clear that the girl does not have a hymen. But, in such situations, the gynecologist may think that the hymen rupture occurred during sexual intercourse, vaginal sex (insertion of the penis into the vagina) or as a result of mechanical damage. Therefore, the gynecologist needs to carefully ask the girl whether she had a close relationship with a guy, or whether she rode a bicycle with a faulty seat. In this way, you can find out the true reason for the absence of a hymen.

I haven't heard of this. But I know that the hymen can have a different structure. There are several holes in it, sometimes there is only one. And this one hole can be so large that the film is located like a narrow rim near the walls of the vagina. So it seems that there is no hymen.

This may happen, but most likely we will not be talking about a complete absence, but about its specific size, or high elasticity (when there is no blood during the first sexual intercourse).

It happens that there is no hymen from birth, yes. Sometimes this becomes the cause of local drama in relationships with a not particularly smart partner, fixated on the presence of a hymen as proof of love for him (discouraging logic).

The complete absence of a hymen, although it happens, is not as common as a crescent-shaped hymen, which may not be injured during sexual intercourse.

Yes, this is possible and it is not an anomaly, but it is quite rare.

Most often, this feature becomes clear during the first sexual intercourse and causes bewilderment in the girl. In childhood, vaginal examinations are not performed by a gynecologist, so the absence of a hymen is usually detected in adulthood.

Yes, this can happen and it is not such a rare occurrence. And I am an example of this. After the first sex, I had no blood or pain that the guy didn’t even believe that he was my first. I entrusted my bewilderment to the doctor, who told me what the hymen is like.

This is possible and is called aplasia of the hymen (aplasia is the absence of an organ). Recently, this has become more and more common, so some researchers argue that over time the hymen will disappear altogether, since it is not needed by humanity.

Yes, this really can happen. Although it is worth noting that a fairly small percentage of girls do not have a hymen from birth, the fact still remains a fact. That is why the absence of a hymen does not always indicate that the girl is not innocent.

The birth of a girl without a hymen is possible, but such a phenomenon is extremely rare.

Also, among certain Muslims and Muslim women there is such a myth that a girl who is born on Friday can be born without a hymen.

ABSENCE OF HYMEN

". I am 20 years old. When I was 13-14 years old, I foolishly checked the presence of girlish pleura with my fingers and other improvised objects. I did not experience any pain or any discomfort. There was no bloody discharge either. About six months ago I had my first sexual intercourse, during which I did not feel a rupture, there was no blood or painful sensations, the penis penetrated freely. Could it be that I deprived myself of it? Or I have been without a hymen since birth."

There is a congenital absence of the hymen - aplasia (not to be confused with a condition such as hymenal atresia - the absence or fusion of its opening) or the hymen can be so undeveloped that it can only be detected during a gynecological examination. Moreover, the first situation occurs extremely rarely in practice.

In this case, as a rule, there is not its complete absence, but only a special form in the form of a low fold of the mucous membrane - a roller-shaped form. The free edge can be not only smooth, but also fringed, patchwork, spiral, jagged, etc.

However, it is possible to find yourself without a hymen not only from birth, but most often as a result of certain actions when damage can occur as a result of any external influences - obvious or invisible to the girl. For example, it can accidentally tear as a result of injury, during masturbation or when performing some physical exercises unsuccessfully, when a hygienic tampon is carelessly inserted into a small hole, or when an instrument is inserted during a gynecological examination.

YOU CAN BE WITHOUT A HYMON AFTER:

  • Sexual intercourse (voluntary or forced)
  • Injuries to the external genitalia
  • Introduction of foreign objects
  • Masturbation
  • Petting
  • Gynecological manipulations (by negligence or according to indications)
  • Some sports (gymnastics, equestrianism, cycling, etc.)
  • Insertion of sanitary tampons of inappropriate diameter
  • Depraved acts by third parties

Thus, if you were “lucky” to be born without a hymen or suspect that its absence is caused by external influences, do not rush to final conclusions. Perhaps it is simply stretchable or has a large hole. In any case, the exact answer to the question “Is SHE there or not?” Only a COMPETENT gynecologist can give this after an examination on the chair. Come and we will dispel or confirm your doubts! Well, then.

WHAT CAN BE DONE,

IF THERE IS NO SEMINA, BUT IS IT NEEDED?

It all depends on your attitude towards the discovery made. If the hymen is absent, but its presence is necessary for one reason or another, everything is possible. Tip 1: What does the virgin pleura look like?

What does devstvennaya pleura look like?

The virgin pleura is a fold of mucous membrane that covers the entrance to the vagina, located between the external and internal genital organs. It is found not only in humans, but also in some mammals: horses, chimpanzees, whales, elephants.

Scientists have not come to a consensus on the purpose of the pleura. Perhaps this rudiment was preserved in the process of evolution. Nature doesn’t do things for nothing; there is an explanation for everything. The fact that after rupture of the pleura the vagina is intensively populated with bacteria has been tested and proven. Therefore, the pleura is responsible for the cleanliness of the girl’s internal genital organs.

The virgin pleura appears as a thin strip of mucous membrane with several openings through which blood flows during menstruation. It is also a kind of boundary between the internal and external environment.

In some countries, a girl had to remain virgin until marriage, otherwise she would remain lonely and suffer all kinds of humiliation.

Pleural integrity

The integrity of the pleura has long been considered an indicator of a girl’s chastity and purity. The first sexual intercourse for a virgin can be painful because the process of defloration occurs - rupture of the pleura. It may not break the first time, as it is very elastic. And sometimes it doesn’t break at all, but simply stretches. The pleura is completely destroyed only after childbirth. There is a concept of traumatic defloration. It means defloration that occurred as a result of injury or severe physical exertion.

Girls can independently destroy the integrity of the virgin pleura during masturbation.

First sexual intercourse

The first sexual intercourse for a virgin is always accompanied by a feeling of fear. Therefore, the behavior of the partner is important. He must know that the girl is still a virgin and act carefully to ease the pain. The sensitivity and attentiveness of your partner will help to avoid psychological trauma, which happens to girls who have experienced severe pain during defloration. It is necessary to choose the right position for the first sexual intercourse, as well as to calm down and relax as much as possible. If the pleura does not rupture the first time, then the process should be repeated after a couple of days. And if the outcome is successful, you need to abstain from sexual intercourse so that the wound heals.

There are cases when the pleura is completely absent from birth, or cases of spontaneous restoration of its integrity. Surgically, you can either rupture the membrane or restore its original appearance.

Tip 2: What does the vagina look like after childbirth?

Source: http://www.kakprosto.ru/kakkak-vyglyadit-devstvennaya-plevra-

A girl may not be born a virgin.

In general, virginity is synonymous with intact purity, usually coming from a lack of sexual experience. Traditionally, virgins and virgins are people who have not practiced penetrative sex. The status of a virgin is respected and valued in some societies, especially in relation to views on sexual behavior before marriage.

Virginity is the physiological state of the female body until the moment of defloration. Characterized by the presence of a hymen.

Defloration is a violation of the integrity of the hymen.

The hymen is a fold of mucous membrane with an opening that covers the entrance to the vagina between the internal and external genitalia. It is usually destroyed during the first sexual intercourse and is practically not preserved after childbirth.

Each girl has individual, unique features of the hymen. Their hymen varies in thickness, density, elasticity, height, shape, individual characteristics of the form, the presence of natural notches and their location, the size of the hymenal opening and the number of openings themselves; differs in surface relief, the state of the free edge, and the degree of extensibility. There are about 20 forms of hymen, but the most common are annular and lunate. The hymen has one or more holes of various sizes and shapes through which blood is released in girls during menstruation.

The hymen may have pathologies such as its congenital absence (aplasia), congenital absence of an opening in it, or its secondary fusion (atresia).

The hymen may be absent (aplasia DP).

There is a congenital absence of the hymen (so-called aplasia) or the hymen may be so undeveloped that it can only be detected during a gynecological examination.

The hymen can accidentally tear as a result of injury or unsuccessful exercise, such as in gymnasts. The same can happen if a hygienic tampon is unsuccessfully inserted into a small hole. And such cases are not rare.

Interesting fact: Mothers in countries such as India, Brazil, and Chile wash their daughters so vigorously that their hymens are completely destroyed in early childhood.

PS: Those men who believe that after the first night there must be blood are mistaken. In some girls, the rupture of the hymen is weak and, due to the location of the blood vessels, there may be no bleeding. At the same time, the appearance of blood does not guarantee defloration - it may simply be menstrual blood.

I had no painful sensations during the first sexual intercourse and there was no blood either, from that moment I thought that I was already born not a girl, then there was a second third, etc., the same thing, no blood or anything, I went to the gynecologist and said that I was not a girl Well, she looked at me and prescribed vaginal suppositories, trichopolum, and nystatin. I hid them from my mother in my locker, she found them, calls me and asks “what is this? Where did you put them in? Who prescribed them? And why don’t I know about it? “I answered “what the gynecologist prescribed, you don’t need to know about it, and supposedly I put them in the anus!” The first sexual intercourse was with a guy with whom I broke up for more than 10 months and now I have a boyfriend, I’m with him for the 4th We’ve already had everything for a month and he knows that I had sex before him! My mother knows both my ex and current boyfriend! But for my family, everyone should keep their virginity until the wedding, but I’ve seen such miracles and I don’t know what to do now, please tell me what do it as quickly as possible, otherwise I’ll have to go as a lady soon so that I don’t do anything stupid. Thanks in advance, I really hope for you.

Hymen and childbirth

Since childhood, during my student years I have been involved in sports, especially before the onset of sexual activity, I spent 3-4 years intensively doing shaping, and also did exercises that affect the muscles of that area. at least my goddess saw the reason for this. It turns out that I’m about to give birth, but the hymen is standing still, and the goddess said that defloration will occur during childbirth.

before childbirth it’s already scary, you think how there would be no tears, increase elasticity. what about in my case? It will probably not be possible to avoid a rupture.

And at the moment of birth it should probably rupture, since the baby’s head is large, how can it pass through the birth canal without damaging the hymen, and at that moment you will not be at all concerned with what you have there and how it ruptures, you will think about Tom, I wish this would end soon

but I guess I pumped up a lot there. I was so crazy before I got married.

Probably many teenage girls go through this. I read all sorts of literature, tried to increase sensitivity using some method. and on a special cassette aimed specifically at increasing sexuality, or developing the muscles of the genital tract, something like that, I don’t remember the exact definition and name. but all the exercises were like this.

Now I’m thinking - why was all this necessary? I was worrying about it in advance.

and my mother sees what books I read - she didn’t take them away. Usually people think about such things after marriage, when there are problems. and I.

and when doctors examine her, they don’t pay much attention, they simply don’t think that the pregnant woman might still have a hymen. and when I ask them if they are there, they are surprised. discovering

and the closer the birth gets, I think about it more and more.

Of course, I understand that my case is rare.

but I want no breaks at all.

Hymenal rupture has nothing to do with ruptures during childbirth. The hymen is not skin with soft tissue, and it is designed to tear at a certain moment. This will happen to you a little later. You won't feel it during childbirth. This is due not so much to pumping as to excessive elasticity and the special shape of the hymen.

A friend had the exact same thing, and she only found out after the fact that she had lost her virginity in childbirth. Just an interesting fact, but not a complication.

that the hymen has nothing to do with the birth canal

I wrote, but not that it is not related, but that rupture of the hymen does not apply to ruptures during childbirth.

Virginity

The moral value of virginity was established in ancient times. The search for biological value continues.

Why is a hymen needed?

There is no clear answer to this question. In the animal world, only female great apes and some species of antelope have a hymen, and its purpose is not very clear. Although nature does not create anything “just like that.”

There is a point of view according to which the hymen is a vestigial organ preserved in the process of evolutionary changes. Some researchers believe that it is necessary to preserve the vaginal microflora.

Ilya Mechnikov proposed an interesting hypothesis: at the dawn of human civilization, people entered into sexual intercourse at a very young age, that is, when the boy’s penis was not yet sufficiently developed. The hymen not only served as an obstacle to copulation, but even contributed to sexual pleasure by narrowing the opening of the female genital organ and adapting it to the small male penis. At the same time, it did not burst, but gradually expanded. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that many primitive peoples still marry in childhood.

The hymen is a fold of the vaginal mucosa, which is located 2-3 centimeters from the labia minora and closes the entrance to the vagina. Each woman's hymen is unique, since its size, appearance, shape, thickness, supply of blood vessels and nerves have their own characteristics. Therefore, all women tolerate defloration differently.

The hymen may have one or more holes for the passage of menstrual blood. The hymen is well stretchable; when it ruptures, the woman loses a little blood. With age, the hymen ages and loses its elasticity, and therefore defloration can become more difficult. After 30 years, the hymen becomes 80% less elastic.

The hymen may be absent

There is a congenital absence of the hymen (so-called aplasia) or the hymen may be so undeveloped that it can only be detected during a gynecological examination.

The hymen can accidentally tear as a result of injury if a girl overdoes it during masturbation or during unsuccessful exercise, as, for example, in gymnasts. The same can happen if a hygienic tampon is unsuccessfully inserted into a small hole. And such cases are not rare. Mothers in countries such as India, Brazil, and Chile wash their daughters so vigorously that their hymens are completely destroyed in early childhood.

How to check the presence of a hymen before marriage

To determine whether a girl is a virgin or not, different peoples came up with a lot of ingenious and varied tests. For example, peoples living on the shores of the Caspian Sea placed a naked bride in front of a swarm of bees and observed her behavior. If a girl stood calmly, looking dangerous insects in the face, and they did not bite her, then she was a virgin, and if the bride fled, then chastity was lost. Others squatted the bride over a vessel of wine and tried to smell the wine fumes from the subject’s mouth. If you're not a virgin, your breath should smell like wine.

And some nations actively deflowered brides before their wedding night. Everyone knows the famous “right of the first night,” according to which the feudal lord himself deprived the bride of her virginity before giving her to the groom. In Peru and Kamchatka, mothers themselves “prepared for the wedding” their daughters with the help of an artificial phallus, and older women in African tribes did the same. Often this was done by relatives or friends of the groom, priests, priests, etc.

After the first sexual intercourse a woman can remain a virgin

During the first sexual intercourse, the hymen is usually torn. However, if it is elastic or if the hole in it is large enough, then sexual activity can proceed for some time even with the hymen intact. In some girls, the hymen can stretch to the size of the penis; the more excited the girl is, the more stretchable the hymen is.

A stretchable hymen sometimes persists until childbirth, despite regular sexual activity. A large hole in the hymen can be present from birth, or it can be created artificially. For example, with regular masturbation or petting, when a finger is carefully inserted into the hole. Over time, the hole increases more and more and, with good elasticity of the hymen and sufficient arousal of the partner, it can allow a small penis to pass through. Some sexologists even recommend slightly stretching the hole in the hymen with your finger during the first sexual intercourse to facilitate defloration.

The hymen can be very strong, and a man is not able to break through it in one night. In such cases, it is better to consult a gynecologist and undergo surgical defloration. You should not try to break the hymen at any cost, turning the sacrament into violence. You can seriously injure delicate organs: during defloration, most perineal ruptures occur.

Those men who believe that after the first night there must be blood are mistaken. In some girls, the rupture of the hymen is weak and, due to the location of the blood vessels, there may be no bleeding. At the same time, the appearance of blood does not guarantee defloration - it may simply be menstrual blood.

If the hymen is intact, pregnancy can even occur. Such a pregnancy may well occur after ejaculation into the vestibule of the vagina or onto the moist external genitalia of a girl with an intact hymen. For some women, the hymen ruptures only during childbirth. Usually the obstetrician himself incises it so as not to complicate childbirth.

Thus, on the one hand, the hymen cannot serve as a guarantee of virginity. On the other hand, the absence of a hymen or the absence of signs of defloration during sexual intercourse does not mean at all that the girl has previously been sexually active. This should be well understood by those men who are especially sensitive to the fact of the innocence of their chosen one.

HYMEN

WHERE IS IT LOCATED, WHAT IS IT NEEDED AND WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

The hymen (hymen) is the “exclusive” of a person. Why is it needed?

Most scientists just shrug their shoulders in response to this question. The hymen exists only in humans, great apes and some species of antelope. Its purpose is completely unclear, although nature does not create anything “just like that.” There is a point of view that this is a vestigial organ left in the process of evolutionary changes. Some researchers believe it is essential for keeping the vagina clean. In fact, after defloration of the hymen, the vaginal microflora changes significantly and is more abundantly populated by bacteria.

Ilya Mechnikov proposed an interesting hypothesis: people in the early period of their existence entered into sexual intercourse at a very young age, that is, when the boy’s penis was not yet fully developed.

  • HYMEN - (medical Greek, lat. hymen - film, skin, hymen) - a fold of the mucous membrane, a connecting membrane located between the vestibule and the vaginal cavity and closing the entrance to the vagina. It has small holes of different sizes and shapes for the outpouring of menstrual blood. It is the only organ that does not change in size from the moment of birth. Varieties (depending on the shape and number of holes): ring-shaped (with one hole in the middle); semilunar, tubular, labiform, keeled, ridge-shaped. Performs a fairly utilitarian function in the female—more precisely, in the girl’s—body. It plays the same role as the lips of the mouth: it serves as a boundary between the external environment and the internal one (in this case, the vaginal environment). During the first sexual intercourse during defloration, it most often ruptures and only the hymenal papillae remain. With a thick hymen and dense structure, false vaginismus may occur.

WHERE IS THE VIRGIN?

It is located in the genital slit, not far from the entrance to the vagina, about 1-3 cm from it. If you bend your knees, spread your thighs wide and spread your labia majora and minora apart with your fingers, you can see the hymen in the depths. Its location is individual for each girl, so independently determining its presence or absence can be quite problematic. It usually has small holes, usually 1-2, of different sizes and shapes. It is the only organ that does not change in size from the moment of birth.

Some types of hymen

* ring-shaped (with one hole in the middle);

The structure and structure of the hymen is individual for each girl (size, appearance, shape, thickness, density, supply of blood vessels and nerves), so the tolerance for violation of its integrity - rupture during the first sexual intercourse - is different for everyone. Therefore, at a young age (from 14 to 20 years), damage to the hymen and disruption of its integrity during defloration usually occurs more easily and with less blood loss than at an older age. There are frequent cases of sexual intercourse with partial violation and preservation of its remains.

Why might a girl benefit from answering the question: “What is my hymen?”

  • Firstly, by determining the type of hymen, the gynecologist will be able to give recommendations on behavior during the first and subsequent sexual intercourse.

Very often there are cases when rupture of the hymen can be difficult, because. it may be dense, thick, have a small hole or many nerve endings. When trying to lose one’s virginity, it does not break in any way - such a structure sometimes causes a significant, sometimes insurmountable, obstacle to the entry of the penis.

Further persistent attempts to overcome such an obstacle cause the girl severe pain and can result in either significant trauma to the genital organs with corresponding consequences, or rejection of the partner, or both. To avoid such excesses, the most reasonable solution would be to carry out a small manipulation - surgical defloration. We perform this procedure under modern local anesthesia, absolutely painless and fast!

Hymen: there must be some mystery in a woman!

Girl, girl, woman, what unites all the listed forms of femininity and what distinguishes them? Is there a line, a transition between these states? What is the difference between a girl playing in the sandbox and a girl, and a girl from a woman? These differences are obvious, but not always visible. Thus, from birth to puberty, a girl prepares to become a girl, and the girl then strives in her development to turn into a woman. The line between the transition from girl to girl is the appearance of the first menstruation, the transition from girl to woman is associated with the birth of a child. This peculiar transformation from a caterpillar (girl), through the pupa stage (girl), into a butterfly (woman) depends entirely on the functioning of the endocrine system and hormones. It is the differences in the functioning of the endocrine system during these periods that give rise to differences in conditions. And yet there is one component that, at first glance, is invisibly present in each of the periods of femininity - this is the hymen. Surprised? Yes, yes and yes again! It is the hymen that can be present in a girl, a girl, and even a woman! You may ask: how is it that a woman is preparing to become a mother, but she still has a hymen? Yes, this is possible! And by the way, very often! No, we are not talking about the immaculate conception, not at all! There is simply a difference between the presence of a hymen and virginity itself. We will search for this difference in the framework of this article.

So, traditionally, a virgin is a person (regardless of gender) who has not practiced sexual contact with penetration. A girl's virginity is often associated with the presence of an intact hymen. For young men, such anatomical criteria do not exist, so their virginity, as a rule, is associated only with a lack of sexual experience (hetero or homosexual).

Since the hymen is elevated to the rank of a measure of virginity, let's take a closer look at some issues related to it.

The hymen (hymen) is just a fold of mucous membrane located at the entrance to the vagina (vestibule of the vagina) and is the boundary between the external and internal genital organs. The hymen is usually located at a depth of 1-3 cm, so all attempts to find it at a deeper distance are doomed to failure. The hymen is based on connective tissue, which is normally present in all organs in auxiliary roles, and in the hymen it forms a supporting frame. Muscle fibers, blood vessels and nerves are woven into the connective tissue frame of the hymen. The density and extensibility of the hymen depends on the number of muscle fibers in the hymen, the volume of blood lost when it ruptures depends on the number of vessels, and the intensity of pain when the hymen ruptures depends on the number of nerves. It is worth noting that the hymen is initially in some way not solid, since, as a rule, it has one or more holes of various sizes and shapes. These holes are very necessary, as menstrual blood, mucus, dead cells, etc. are released through them.

If the hymen initially has holes, then what is it for?

Some researchers believe that the hymen is necessary to keep the vagina clean and protect it from infection. In fact, after the hymen ruptures, the vaginal microflora changes significantly and is more abundantly populated with bacteria.

The shape of the hymen is very variable, so today there are more than 20 types of its shape: ring-shaped, semilunar, semilunar-shore, fringed (petal-shaped), lobed, patchwork, jagged, ridge-shaped, labiform, double-convex, partitioned, bordered, keeled, fenestrated, processed , perforated, lattice, sieve, tubular.

In some cases, the hymen may be absent from birth (aplasia), there may be no holes in it from birth (imperforate hymen), and as a result of cicatricial or adhesive processes, secondary fusion of holes or hymen ruptures (atresia) may occur.

How can you damage the hymen?

Let's look at the main reasons that can lead to damage to the hymen, in addition to classic sexual intercourse.

So, the following can lead to a violation of the integrity of the hymen:

  • Sexual games without classical sexual intercourse, that is, variants of caresses using fingers and other objects, incomplete insertion of the penis. In addition, do not forget that such sexual games can lead to the development of pregnancy, even if the integrity of the hymen is preserved. After all, sperm can get on the girl’s external genitalia, and motile sperm will penetrate through the hole in the hymen into the vagina, then into the uterus, etc.
  • Masturbation, which involves inserting a finger(s) or any foreign object into the vagina. Gently, carefully inserting a finger or some object into the vagina does not always lead to defloration, since the hymen can be quite stretchable and have physiological openings (this was discussed above). Moreover, inserting a finger into the vagina can lead to the feeling that there is no hymen, especially if you get into the hole and penetrate behind the hymen. And yet, such games can lead to defloration, and, as a rule, painless for the girl.
  • Incorrect use of tampons. At the same time, the insertion of vaginal tampons (small size, intended for use by virgins) does not harm the integrity of the hymen, especially if the tampon is inserted using a special applicator and the tampon does not do anything extreme.
  • The introduction of special instruments during a gynecological examination, in case the girl forgot to warn about her virginity.
  • Vigorous cleaning by parents in early childhood.

The hymen does not rupture due to external influences, including: rope climbing, sports or dancing, pelvic injuries, clitoral masturbation, wearing thongs, etc. Although gynecologists do not encourage wearing this type of underwear, but for another reason - due to the increased likelihood of developing infections and inflammatory diseases.

Briefly about first sexual intercourse and defloration

Sexual intercourse is rightfully considered the main factor in damage to the hymen, since during it the hymen is usually torn. If the hymen ruptures (defloration), blood may be released from the rupture sites, and the rupture process itself may be accompanied by pain. We would like to once again draw your attention to the fact that the appearance of blood and pain during defloration is possible, but not at all necessary. So, if the hymen is too dense and sufficiently supplied with blood vessels and nerves, the tears become deep, a significant amount of blood is released (even bleeding), all this is accompanied by significant pain. If the hymen is thin, elastic, poor in blood vessels and nerve plexuses, there may not even be pain or blood.

Sometimes, if the hymen is too elastic, or has a certain shape (lunate, with a large central opening), rupture of the hymen may not occur until childbirth. But after childbirth, the hymen is completely destroyed, leaving only individual flaps.

At the same time, a dense tendon membrane can serve as a significant obstacle to sexual intercourse; as a result, a man is unable to break through it. In this case, it is better to postpone attempts until next time. However, if three attempts are unsuccessful, it is best to consult a gynecologist for surgical defloration. This will help to avoid the development of psychological problems in the future, because the first sexual contact is psychologically acute for a virgin. If a man does not show enough tenderness, tact and understanding, then a girl may have an aversion to sexual intercourse for the rest of her life and develop sexual coldness. In the future, even if she meets a gentle and affectionate man, this condition is unlikely to be corrected. No matter how gentle and affectionate a man she meets on her life’s path in the future, he will be able to fix little.

How to determine whether the hymen is intact or not?

As noted above, each female representative has a strictly individual shape, structure, elasticity, and extensibility of the hymen. In some, the hymen does not break from many contacts due to its density, in others because of its extensibility, in others it breaks easily from an innocent prank.

How to determine whether the hymen is intact or not?

Alas, you cannot cope on your own. An external examination, especially not from a specialist, will not bring reliable results. In addition, such a definition can lead to damage to the entire hymen.

The only way out is to visit an obstetrician-gynecologist. The fact is that only a specialist (gynecologist) and only during an examination on a chair can determine whether the hymen is intact, if not, when it was destroyed and whether it was there initially.

Lyrical digression for girls: should they lose their virginity, if so, when?

The time has long passed when maintaining virginity before marriage was considered a necessary condition, and the absence of it was considered a disgrace for a girl and her family, could become a reason for refusing to marry her and even a reason for taking her life. In our time, virginity is a spiritual attribute and a personal decision of any accomplished individual. If you consider yourself developed, independent, capable of taking responsibility for the future child, who may well be born even after a single sexual contact, if you are prepared for the possible occurrence of sexually transmitted infections, if you are familiar with the measures to prevent these infections, then no one has the right to stop you from the beginning of sexual activity. However, your motivation for the first sexual intercourse should in no case be the pursuit of new sensations, the opportunity to realize new needs, or the inability to resist the onslaught of a young man. It is better to lose your virginity when you are physically and mentally ready for it. If you decide to become sexually active on your own, be sure to visit a gynecologist’s office! The specialist will give you all the necessary and reliable information that you may need. It’s not really worth relying on the advice of girlfriends or friends. Remember that the mandatory conditions for the first sexual intercourse must be: mutual consent of the partners, the use of contraception (condom), bed (a pleasant environment is very important) and complete privacy.

Lyrical digression for boys: is it necessary to look for evidence of innocence?

Our opinion is this: searching for evidence is a waste of time! The presence or absence of blood and/or pain during sexual intercourse cannot be a reason to doubt the innocence of a girl!

If you didn’t feel the moment the hymen broke, didn’t see the blood, this doesn’t prove anything! Perhaps the girl has a very stretchable hymen, or it was absent from birth, or initially had a large hole in its structure, or there are few blood vessels in it, or the girl was unsuccessfully examined by a gynecologist.

Even if the hymen is intact (there was an obstruction, blood, pain), do not forget that there are other ways of sexual intercourse when the hymen is not affected, there is hymenoplasty (surgical restoration of virginity).

Of course, you can take the girl to the doctor for an examination, but you still shouldn’t do this. After all, the unpleasant aftertaste from this will remain for a long time, perhaps forever.

Therefore, first of all, decide for yourself what is important to you - a relationship with a particular girl or the presence of her hymen. By the way, it wouldn’t hurt to remember whether you yourself are a virgin...

A lyrical digression for mothers: or what to do if your daughter lost her virginity?

Puritanical upbringing is not uncommon in our time, but its presence does not at all mean that virgins have no sexual needs. You know that approximately 50% of virgins have experienced sensations associated with orgasm, including during masturbation, and about 10% of virgins are such only nominally (anatomically), while they actively practice oral, anal and other types sex? Therefore, try not to make a tragedy out of what happened. First of all, try to understand your girl. Believe me, now more than ever she needs your help and support. She is comprehending a new world, which she is not yet very well versed in. And if you don’t want her to look for help on the outside (friends, the Internet) and harm her health, try to become a faithful assistant for her.

A few words in conclusion

As you can see, such significant variability in the shape and elasticity of the hymen can lead to an incorrect interpretation of the presence or absence of virginity if we focus only on the presence of the hymen. After all, in an intact girl who has not had sexual intercourse, the hymen may be completely absent or slightly pronounced, while in a girl who is sexually active and even has had several partners, the hymen may remain until childbirth. Thus, we believe that in matters of virginity it is more justified to focus not on the anatomical integrity of the hymen, but on the virgin state of the girl’s soul and body before the first sexual intercourse. Be healthy!

Hymen

Medicine evaluates the hymen in a special way, determines its other functions and at the same time provides knowledge about what this tissue is and how it can be damaged.

Anatomy of the hymen

The hymen is a fold with a small hole in the middle, formed from connective tissues and mucous membranes and covering the entrance to the vagina, separating the internal and external genitalia.

The hymen is based on connective tissue, which is normally present in varying quantities in all organs, but in the hymen it forms the supporting frame. This foundation is supplemented by muscle fibers, blood vessels, capillaries, and nerve endings. The muscle fibers of the hymen determine its density and range of stretch. The number and thickness of blood vessels affects the presence and volume of bleeding when the hymen is ruptured. The concentration of nerve endings will determine the intensity of the pain syndrome when the hymen ruptures. The hymen is normally located at a depth of 1-3 centimeters from the entrance to the vagina.

The anatomy of the hymen does not initially provide for its integrity, although there are exceptions, but they are deviations from the norm. In the hymen, usually upon careful examination one or even several holes can be observed, varying in size and shape. The need for these holes is due to natural processes - they serve as an outlet for menstrual flow, natural secretions, mucus, as well as dead cells contained in it.

The hymen performs a minor function in the female body. It serves as a barrier between the external and internal environment. This thin line protects the vagina and internal genital organs of a woman from infection and pathogenic microflora until the body is formed, strengthened and there is a need to develop without the hymen. In this way, nature protects the girl’s body from unnecessary risks, but when a woman enters into sexual relations, her reproductive function becomes a priority, and the hymen really becomes far from paramount. In this state, more than before, you need to be attentive to your hygiene and decency in the matter of building personal relationships in order to avoid infection of the genitourinary system. Gynecological consultation for preventive purposes is recommended for sexually mature women every 6 months.

Another function of the hymen (more ethical and moral than physiological) is a signal about the beginning of sexual relations by a woman. Since ancient times, men (and society as a whole) have assessed this fact, attitudes towards it have changed, however, from a medical point of view, it should be noted that it is not always possible to draw clear conclusions about the relationship between the presence of a hymen and sexual experience, which may be due to anatomical structural features of a particular female body.

Violations of the hymen

Normally, a hymen is present in a girl who has not begun sexual activity. Rupture of the hymen, called defloration, traditionally occurs during the first sexual intercourse (after which only flaps or hymenal papillae remain), but some exceptions are possible.

Thus, there are known cases of traumatic defloration, when the hymen ruptures due to an injury that is not related to sexual relations. Outside of sex, the hymen can be damaged due to inaccurate gynecological examination or during active participation in certain sports.

In addition, the hymen may be absent from birth, which is called aplasia, or it may heal some time after the rupture (due to scarring or adhesions), which is called secondary atresia.

The hymen may also be particularly strong, which, due to anatomical features, easily leads to false vaginismus. The opposite feature may lie in the fact that the hymen turns out to be too elastic, and therefore remains intact due to a certain number of sexual acts. Both a hymen that is too dense and too elastic may be a reason to contact a professional gynecologist with a request to carry out defloration medically.

Types of hymen

The hymen is a very individual feature of the female body. Not only can it be absent from birth or overgrown even if there is sex in a girl’s life, it differs in its structure. There are the following varieties, which are important not so much for the girl herself, but for medical practice:

  • ring-shaped - the most common, standard version with a hole located in the center of the hymen;
  • semilunar;
  • semilunar-shore;
  • fringed (or petal);
  • lobular;
  • patchwork
  • toothed;
  • roll-shaped;
  • labiform;
  • double-ended;
  • blocked;
  • bordered;
  • keeled;
  • fenestrated;
  • process;
  • lattice;
  • sieve;
  • tubular

In some cases, the hymen may be absent from birth (aplasia), there may be no holes in it from birth (imperforate hymen), and as a result of cicatricial or adhesive processes, secondary fusion of holes or hymen ruptures (atresia) may occur.

How can you break the hymen?

The traditional and natural way to lose virginity is through sexual intercourse. However, as mentioned earlier, sex cannot always lead to such a result, while other actions can - everything is very individual. Let us dwell on specific cases of defloration recorded in medical practice:

  • sexual games, but not classic sexual intercourse - various options for sexual caresses using fingers, penis, sexual toys, etc.; at the same time, it is necessary to understand that the lack of full-fledged sex and the integrity of the hymen do not exclude the possibility of pregnancy when sperm are released;
  • masturbation - inserting fingers or foreign objects into the vagina can stretch the hymen or penetrate its physiological openings, or can tear it;
  • improper use of tampons - usually a tampon (mostly small in size for use by adolescents) is inserted into the physiological opening of the hymen, but the procedure can be performed incorrectly, inadequately or carelessly;
  • the use of gynecological instruments - a gynecological examination of a virgin does not involve the insertion of certain instruments into the vagina, for which, before starting the procedure, the doctor must be informed of the lack of sexual experience;
  • overly active cleaning in early childhood, which is usually done by overzealous parents.

At the same time, it is necessary to debunk some myths about defloration. Hymen rupture does not occur under the following circumstances:

  • external influences - rope climbing, pelvic injuries, wearing thongs;
  • correct use of tampons - virgins during menstruation are recommended to give preference to gynecological pads, but the use of tampons is not prohibited; in the latter case, it is necessary to choose small tampons, with a large applicator, in an inadequate or incorrect manner (in an awkward position, awkward movement, etc.);
  • masturbation of the clitoris - without penetration of the vagina with any objects;
  • sports and dancing - with the exception of overly active procedures, which is extremely rare.

Optimal age to lose virginity

Defloration - the process and method of deflowering for young girls becomes a reason for reflection, planning, and ideas. Some are ashamed of their virginity, some elevate sex before marriage to the level of taboo, some are waiting for love and a rush of passion, and some do not create any conditions for themselves.

According to gynecologists, the optimal age for deflowering is the post-teen age. It is believed that by this age the girl’s body is ready for subsequent changes. However, it is necessary to understand that deprivation of virginity, like every subsequent sex, entails the possibility of pregnancy, which is not always desirable at such a young age. It is also worth paying attention to the fact that for conception, rupture of the hymen is not at all necessary; only the penetration of sperm into the vagina and beyond is sufficient, which is also possible through the holes present in the hymen.

As mentioned earlier, the hymen serves as some kind of protection from the adverse effects of the external environment, but this is rarely thought about on the eve of first sex. Gynecologists recommend not creating taboos and restrictions for yourself, while maintaining prudence and observing some nuances that allow you to remember your first sex as pleasant as possible:

  • mutual consent of partners, and not forcing anyone to be intimate;
  • use of barrier contraception, condoms;
  • pleasant atmosphere, setting the mood for romance and relaxation;
  • complete privacy and concentration on each other’s feelings and emotions.

Gynecologists do not state an upper age limit for deflowering. It should only be noted that it is an exaggeration to say that with age the hymen becomes denser and defloration becomes more difficult. However, it should be understood that over the years, some psychological characteristics of the individual come into force, when it becomes more difficult to find a loved one, demands increase, and certain complexes probably develop.

One way or another, deflowering should not be elevated to a special ritual, but should be done with a loved one who is necessary at this stage.

How can you tell if your hymen is torn?

Only a gynecologist can definitely say about the presence or absence of a hymen after a gynecological examination of the girl. The question arises as to how necessary it is to focus on this nuance during the inspection. It is known that the hymen is very variable in shape, structure, and elasticity. There are exceptions when the hymen can be damaged outside of sexual intercourse, and vice versa, when it remains intact after several acts, and sometimes even until the birth itself. In the modern century, assessing whether a girl has a hymen for her current sexual partner turns out to be more of a nuance of self-affirmation and, it must be admitted, an archaic judgment. If earlier, blood on the sheet on the first wedding night turned out to be a symbol of the decency of the chosen one and the longevity of this union, and the “vicious” girl succumbed to universal condemnation, then today in building relationships (both family and sexual) one should be guided only by feelings and sympathies, and more In matters of virginity, it is justified to focus not on the anatomical integrity of the hymen, but on the noble state of the girl’s soul and body.
