The difference between boric acid and alcohol

Before treating otitis media with boric acid or its alcohol solution, you need to understand how they differ from each other. The difference between them is that these two different dosage forms of boric acid have different concentrations of the active substance.

Boric acid itself is a white powdery substance that must be diluted in water. This remedy is not usually prescribed for the treatment of ear diseases because the acid does not dissolve in water and crystals form. In addition, if the powder is diluted independently, a more saturated solution is often obtained, which can lead to a chemical burn of the eardrum and the skin of the external auditory canal.

Before you figure out how to use this substance to treat otitis media, it is important to know how boric acid differs from boric alcohol. The acid is a white powdery substance that is odorless, looks like scales, and is poorly soluble in water.

Boric alcohol is boric acid dissolved in 70 percent ethyl alcohol.

And now about how much boric alcohol to drip into the ear and how to do it correctly.
