Remedy against inflammation in the respiratory tract PohlBoskamp GeloMyrtol® - review
About what Myrtol is. About the effect. And about drugs that really help.
A couple of months ago this drug was prescribed to my child for sinusitis. I bought it, but never decided to give it to him, because... I had never used it before, never even heard of it.
I kept it in the medicine cabinet until I caught a cold and accidentally remembered it. At that time, I had a fever for 4 days, my whole body ached, my nose couldn’t breathe, and purulent discharge appeared.
When I realized that I had developed a complication in the form of sinusitis and incipient bronchitis, I began treatment seriously - I started taking GeloMyrtol capsules.
I wondered what kind of composition it had. I searched for information for a long time. It turned out that Myrtol is a strong-smelling oil from Myrtus communis. Common myrtle is an evergreen tree or shrub. Myrtle leaves are used for low immunity and colds. And myrtle oil itself is intended for internal use during putrefactive processes in the lungs .
Interesting facts about this plant (for those who are not curious, you don’t have to read!):
- In 1984, the Russian biochemist Molodezhnikov found that the high immunity of Mediterranean residents to certain types of oncology, namely breast and intestinal cancer, is caused by the fact that they often use myrtle leaves in cooking.
- Using myrtle as a seasoning in daily cooking helps strengthen the body's own strength, which prevents the development of cancer cells.
- When treating tuberculosis, tinctures of myrtle and black walnut significantly increase the recovery rate. This is due to the fact that the plant contains eugenol. The medicinal properties of this substance impede the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and the progression of the disease.
- There is no allergic reaction to the volatile secretions of myrtle.
- It is believed that myrtle disinfects the air.
The pharmacological action of GeloMyrtol is also impressive:
The drug is of plant origin, has an expectorant, mucolytic, antimicrobial, fungicidal, antioxidant, deodorizing effect. By activating ciliary activity, it increases mucociliary clearance. Reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions by changing pH, facilitates the removal of sputum by activating the activity of the ciliated epithelium.
I had 120 mg capsules (for children). There is also GeloMyrtol Forte, 300 mg each.
I took 2 capsules 4 times a day.
The capsules do not have any aftertaste if swallowed immediately (if delayed, they are slightly bitter).
So I finished the whole package. The result was, unfortunately, zero. I did not notice any expectorant effect. It didn’t get any easier, so I didn’t buy a new package to complete the entire course.
In this regard, Doctor Mom lozenges helped me a lot (after them, sputum discharge begins immediately). I started taking the antibiotic Azithromycin. I washed out my sinuses with Dolphin. So, sinusitis and bronchitis disappeared without a trace in 3 days.
I admit, based on the information that I read about the drug, I had high hopes for it. But the result was zero. Even just as an expectorant, not to mention its antimicrobial properties.
Perhaps it was necessary to complete the entire course, but there was no certainty that it would help, and it would have cost a pretty penny (and sinusitis and bronchitis are not waiting, they must be treated with lightning speed).
Above I wrote about what really helps with purulent inflammation!
Complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (acute and chronic bronchitis, sinusitis).
zlata85, it’s a pity that I didn’t help, I’m just delighted with it!
The best remedy for bronchitis and sinusitis that I have ever tried!
Hello everyone! Here comes the next season of colds, viruses and other “joys” (((I thought that my opinion about the drug GeloMyrtol Forte would not be superfluous)) I first learned about Gelomirtol Forte when I caught some terrible virus from my little daughter.
It cured both a runny nose and tracheitis.
Not long ago I fell ill with SARS. And, as a result, I began to develop tracheitis. At first the cough was hoarse and barking, and then my chest began to burn. It became clear that the sputum was not coming out. In addition, the runny nose has lasted for two weeks. There was no temperature, but the general condition was “like a washcloth.”
After ARVI, I treated complications - sinusitis and almost bronchitis, it helped! Caused the outflow of all the nastiness from the sinuses. Price, instructions and answer to the question - which is better, GeloMyrtol or GeloMyrtol forte? PHOTO
Once again, my daughter brought some kind of virus from kindergarten, they both fell down, and it just so happened that I had to spend the first days of the illness on my feet (it’s no secret that during ARVI it is important to rest for the first 3-4 days! ) and complications began - cough, stuffy nose and bursting sensations in...
A very good two-in-one medicine – for both a runny nose and a cough!
I want to share an unexpectedly successful drug that I accidentally discovered. I’ll say right away that I’m not a doctor, I bought the medicine at random out of despair, so before taking it, CONSULT WITH A DOCTOR and carefully read the instructions (especially the age) and possible “side effects”. I had the flu.
Complex action drugs – against bronchitis and sinusitis
Used for acute and chronic inflammation
GeloMirtol ® and GeloMirtol ® have a whole range of medicinal properties in the treatment of diseases of the respiratory system. These drugs have an expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial effect. They help to liquefy thickened mucus in the paranasal sinuses and bronchi, help clear the airways from accumulated mucus and restore normal functioning of the mucous membranes.
All this happens thanks to their special composition. Each capsule of GeloMyrtol ® and GeloMyrtol ® forte contains an active component - standardized myrtol. This is a unique natural formula, each element of which affects the respiratory system in a certain way, and all together they provide their own complex therapeutic effect. What is myrtol?
The Power of Plants for Respiratory Health
Myrtol is a distillate of essential oils of four medicinal plants. Essential oils for myrtol are obtained by steam distillation. This allows you to preserve all valuable biological substances in them. Such oils have the characteristic smell of the plants they contain (for example, conifers and citrus fruits, as in myrtol).
An important point is the method of delivering myrtol to the body: this active substance is enclosed in enteric capsules, which allows it to easily pass through the stomach without irritating its walls, and begin its work only in the intestines, where it is almost completely absorbed and enters the bloodstream without losing their valuable properties.
Medicinal formula from nature itself
Myrtol contains a unique combination of ingredients - a distillate of four high-quality essential oils. These oils are obtained through rectification, an effective distillation method in which valuable substances are extracted in high concentrations. Myrtol contains eucalyptus oils (the main ingredient is 66% of the total volume), as well as myrtle, sweet orange and lemon.
Sweet Orange and Lemon Oil
Mechanism of action of GeloMyrtol ® and GeloMyrtol ® forte
A specially selected combination of essential oils in the composition of GeloMyrtol ® and GeloMyrtol ® forte allows them to have a combined effect on the respiratory system. It is based on a combination of two mechanisms: the first is the liquefaction of thick secretions and the second is the stimulation of better functioning of the cilia of the mucous membranes. As a result of this combination, the rate of mucus removal from the respiratory tract increases by 46% 1 .
In addition, GeloMirtol ® and GeloMirtol ® forte have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The anti-inflammatory effect helps reduce swelling of the respiratory tract, while antimicrobial components actively fight pathogens. Thus, the drugs simultaneously affect several stages of the development of the disease, increasing the results of complex treatment of respiratory diseases.
Thanks to the special dosage form, the active elements of the drug begin to work only in the intestines. This ensures protection of the stomach walls from possible irritation, as well as high bioavailability. The active ingredients of GeloMyrtol ® and GeloMyrtol ® forte easily penetrate the bloodstream and spread throughout the body, quickly reaching the bronchi and paranasal sinuses, where they exert their therapeutic effect.

Reviews
We have selected some reviews from people about the drug GeloMyrtol Forte:
- Olya. My son often suffers from a runny nose, mucus stays in the nasopharynx and does not go away, then it turns into a cough. This drug is the only one that helps him recover without antibiotics. Previously we tried Sinupret and Cinnabsin, but for some reason Gelomirtol Forte was the right choice. About 15 minutes after taking it, the mucus leaves the nose, you can calmly blow it and a gentle coughing occurs. The drug acts as an inhalation, moreover, it is plant-based, and I am not afraid of side effects. After five days of treatment, the child is healthy. There is a drawback - sometimes the taste of herbal oil lingers in the mouth for a long time after taking it.
- Nina. I took Gelomirtol for a cold complicated by sinusitis and cough. I caught a cold after hypothermia, my condition worsened. I started drinking it on the 4th day of illness, took 8 pieces a day, but did not notice any effect. I didn’t continue the treatment when I finished it all - I started using Doctor Mom, which brought long-awaited relief. The mucus began to come out much easier, the nose began to breathe and the sore throat went away. I don't see any point in overpaying for insufficient results.
- Nastya . Sputum comes out well on gelomyrtol. Otherwise, no antitussive effect was seen in the treatment of bronchitis. Bromhexine copes with this matter as well as this remedy.
Many are attracted by the naturalness of the drug and ease of use. There are several reviews about the presence of side effects - stomach pain and nausea.
Analogs
GeloMyrtol has no analogues in the full sense of the word.
Similar in mechanism of action are:
Before using analogues, consult your doctor.

Nina Mikhailovna: I discovered the drug by accident and very successfully. I recently woke up in the morning with a high (up to 39) temperature and terrible chest pain. For five painful days the fever did not go away, and the cough was so annoying that I was afraid to start coughing due to pain in the sternum and diaphragm. There was no sputum.
Then a runny nose was added. Nothing helped. Lying in bed, I saw an advertisement about Gelomirtol Fortei and asked my sister to go to the pharmacy. To my surprise, the very next day my cough softened and began to clear my throat, the pain subsided, and a possible side effect (according to the instructions) in the form of an allergy did not appear. I recommend the drug to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation. After all, before taking Gelomirtol, nothing even from proven remedies helped me.
Gelomirtol in combination with Aquolor helped a lot in 4 days in the treatment of advanced frontal sinusitis (according to MRI). For 2 weeks I took Sinupred and took rhinofluimucil with Isofra - but I still had a severe headache, congestion and thick mucus glued to the back of my throat (I picked it out with tweezers).

"Gelomirtol": reviews of the drug for inhalation from the inside
Inability to breathe freely, excessive nasal discharge, headache - all these are symptoms of sinusitis. What does every person think about at such moments? How to quickly get rid of unpleasant symptoms. There are many drugs on the pharmaceutical market, but Gelomirtol reviews take one of the first places in the list of leaders. This drug clears the airways of excess mucus as quickly as possible. But this is not the only advantage of the drug.
Beneficial features
“Gelomirtol” is a drug created from natural ingredients that has the following effects:
- dilutes sputum without increasing in volume, which promotes its rapid elimination;
- acts as an expectorant;
- promotes the death of fungal infections;
- works as an antioxidant;
- destroys harmful microorganisms.
In addition, according to reviews, “Gelomirtol” has a pronounced deodorizing property, which is quite important for sinusitis. The manufacturer himself declares this property.
What's the secret?
The manufacturer managed to achieve such properties using standardized myrtol.
Myrtol is a mixture of 4 essential oils obtained from plants by steam distillation. This production method allows you to preserve all the beneficial substances of each crop used.
According to reviews and instructions for use, “Gelomirtol” has a pronounced aroma of citrus and pine. But another question immediately arises - why essential oils do not irritate the stomach. But the whole point is how they enter the body.
“Gelomirtol” are enteric capsules. Simply put, the drug passes through the stomach and only begins to dissolve in the intestines, entering the bloodstream as quickly as possible, without any loss of beneficial and healing properties.
Components of the drug
Eucalyptus is an evergreen shrub or tree of the Myrtaceae genus. The plant grows in Indonesia and Australia, and is found in Tasmania. Myrtle is a shrub that grows naturally in the Mediterranean region, but otherwise the essential oil is obtained from cultivated crops. Lemon and sweet orange oils are obtained exclusively from the peel of citrus fruits.
The preparation also contains other components: hydrochloric acid, gelatin, sorbitol, glycerin.
How to use the product
The instructions attached to the drug "Gelomirtol" (reviews also indicate this) say that the drug is best used in complex therapy. The drug helps relieve the symptoms of bronchitis, occurring in both chronic and acute forms. With ordinary sinusitis, the remedy helps almost instantly, but subject to following all the recommendations stated by the manufacturer.
The capsule should be taken with a sufficient amount of water. It is best to use the product 30 minutes before meals. It is not recommended to take the medicine with hot drinks so that the capsule does not dissolve prematurely.
If you have a history of acute bronchitis, you should take 2 capsules at a time. The number of techniques can be increased up to 4-5 times. In the chronic form of the disease, the drug is used 3 times a day, 2 capsules. The same amount of medicine must be taken for other types of respiratory diseases.
The last dose of medication, regardless of the form of the disease, is best postponed to the evening. In this case, the quality of sleep improves. In severe cases of chronic bronchitis, you can add 2 additional capsules to therapy, which are taken in the morning to quickly improve sputum discharge.
The drug must be taken until complete recovery and for 3-4 days after symptoms disappear.
Childhood and pregnancy
The reviews and instructions for Gelomirtol-Forte and Germitol clearly indicate that the medicine should be used with great caution in children. For patients aged 3 to 10 years, more than 1 capsule should not be given at a time. The frequency of administration can be the same as for adults, but it is better not more than 2 times a day. Children under 3 years of age cannot be treated with Gelomirtol. After the child has reached 10 years of age, he can be given 1 capsule 3 times a day.
We should not neglect reviews of Gelomirtol, which indicate that many problems arise due to the fact that patients confuse the ordinary drug with a dosage of active substances of 120 mg and the drug with the prefix “Forte”, in which the active substance is 300 mg.
The drug is not recommended in the first three months of pregnancy. In the 2nd and 3rd trimester, the use of the drug should be monitored by a doctor.
There is no information about drug overdose.
Price issue
The price is not indicated in the instructions for Gelomirtol, but reviews say that the cost of the drug for the common cold and bronchitis is quite acceptable. The product “Gelomirtol-Forte” evokes even greater admiration, because you need to use it less, and the effect is even better (the price is slightly higher).
Average prices for drugs:
- “Gelomirtol” - from 380 to 435 rubles, depending on the region.
- "Gelomirtol-Forte" - from 470 to 510 rubles for 20 capsules.
Side effects
Despite positive reviews about the price of Gelomirtol, absolutely all patients are concerned about possible side effects. Indeed, the manufacturer does not exclude the possibility of the appearance of:
- pain in the stomach;
- loose stools;
- Quincke's edema and/or urticaria;
- nausea and vomiting;
- in the presence of gallstones, their mobility may be observed.
Despite a decent list of possible side effects, which are sometimes confirmed by reviews of Gelomirtol, the drug is still natural, allowing you to quickly get rid of unnecessary mucus and quickly restore normal functioning of the respiratory tract.
