- aquamaris and saline solution
Therefore, I didn’t let the sniffles take their course, I decided to at least do a trivial rinsing of the nose. And the children still found it easier to breathe.
Previously, we constantly used saline solution as the most affordable and budget-friendly remedy. It was recommended to us by our pediatrician. For a long time, I was happy with everything about it, until we had a scheduled consultation with Laura.
I asked a question about rinsing the nose, and told me how and how I do it. The doctor recommended not to overdo it with saline solution, since, according to a specialist, it greatly dries out the mucous membrane of a child’s nose.
So saline solution disappeared from our everyday life for some time.
Until one morning my daughters developed snot. Out of the blue, without any obvious reason: there was no contact with sick children, hypothermia, or sudden changes in ambient temperature.
The only possible reason was found to be pecking teeth discovered the day before.
But this time I decided not to let things take their course and went to the pharmacy. Along the way, I called some mothers I knew whose children were the same as Manya’s or a little older. They recommended having in your arsenal AquaMaris or saline solution, Nazivin and a nozzle pump similar to Otrivin.
With the pharmacist, we discussed the entire range of products presented in the assortment to combat children's runny nose.
So, Humera-type products were immediately put aside, since they are for children over 1 year old. The pharmacist did not recommend taking cheap No-Sol, because, according to her, it is very sensitive to the nasal mucosa.
So I settled on Aqua Marisa and Nazivin.
By the way, this pleasure is not cheap, given the very small volume. Personally, it lasted me a week, for use three times a day by two children. The cost of a 10 ml bottle is 62 UAH. 80 kop. or about 170 rubles.
Actually, before use, you must follow the recommendation indicated on one of the sides of the package with the drug.
The instructions, among other things, indicate the composition
Sterile hypertonic solution of Adriatic Sea water with natural salts and trace elements + excipients.
Now about the actual use. I already wrote above that I put 2 drops in my nose 3 times a day. After it, the children’s breathing became easier, although not for long. After a week of use, the sniffles did not go away. During this period, I invited a pediatrician for a consultation, she replied that for now we could do without Nazivin, Aqua Marisa would be enough. She also identified teeth as the cause of the runny nose. The youngest got 3 at once. The doctor also said that this state of things could last up to two weeks. In the end, the doctor said that expensive Aqua Maris could be replaced with plain salt water.
After finishing Aqua Maris, I decided not to use the miracle water, but returned to the saline solution. The husband took a two-cc syringe, filled it with saline solution and carefully inserted it into the hole in the Aqua Maris bottle. As is known,
the need for invention is cunning
After just 3 days, there was no trace left of the children’s runny nose. Now I’m tormented by thoughts: was the reason for this the saline solution or was it just time?
I am glad that we were free of allergic reactions. This is rare for Aqua Maris, but it does happen. Considering that both my daughters are prone to allergies, I was still afraid of such manifestations.
By the way, after making the purchase and undergoing treatment, I talked with a number of mothers who argued that Aqua Maris is just an expensive analogue of saline solution, there is absolutely no point in overpaying. A bottle of 200 ml of saline solution costs no more than 10 hryvnia, or in rubles this amount is no more than 28-30.
To summarize, I would like to say that I will still recommend Aqua Maris. Perhaps it will be more effective for someone than for us. But before purchasing and using it, you should consult your pediatrician.
I don’t plan to make a repeat purchase yet. I will add saline solution to the existing bottle.
Inanna recommends YADRAN Aqua Maris nasal drops for children
Aqua Maris Drops for children is a natural preparation, a solution of Adriatic Sea water. Aqua Maris Drops for children are specially designed for the prevention and treatment of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and runny nose in children. Suitable for daily hygiene of babies' noses from birth. Approved by the Research Institute of Pediatrics of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
I also bought these drops because of the bottles. My life hack is sodium chloride. Cheap and cheerful
When my son had a runny nose and the drops no longer helped, I read on the Internet that you can lubricate your nose with Vitaon. Now the whole family does this. You can smear it several times a day - there will be no transfer, and the effect lasts as long as from Nazivin.
And here it is, in droplets. also buy the first bottle)) and then saline solution or make it yourself
But 60 hryvnia is too much. So I'm also for saving
My eldest daughter got them after a year (but painlessly!).
By the way, I am faithful and devoted to saline.
Why do they MUST be in every first aid kit? 🚑 And when is it possible to get by with saline solution? 💦 Everything every MOTHER SHOULD KNOW. And a few life hacks to boot)
My acquaintance with Aqua Maris happened immediately after returning from the maternity hospital. No, of course, I had heard before about sea water, which is useful for a runny nose, but I only really began to understand and understand this issue with the birth of my baby.
Good natural drops for babies from the first days of life! We haven't been let down yet! I’ll tell you about our impressions, how often we use them and how convenient they are to use.
Good day everyone! I didn’t even know or hear about Aqua Maris nasal drops before the birth of my child. But it’s been almost 2 years now that I’ve been gradually getting acquainted with various children’s medications. In general, this drug is available in 2 forms: drops and spray.
Quite good if you don't need much. Otherwise, it is better to take another remedy
These drops were recommended to us back in the maternity hospital. In the first month we realized that they didn’t last very long. 1 bottle per week. And they cost quite a lot, considering the expense. this is a minus. The only one. Otherwise we are completely satisfied with them.
A little expensive, but nothing to mind for a child.
As I have always been told, mother's milk is better than any medicine. So I dropped breast milk into my baby’s nose to soften the crusts. It couldn't not work, there's nothing to complain about. But then it turned out that he caught a cold. A runny nose started, and I was dripping and dripping milk.
Aquamaris saline solution
we used and are using. they just recommend not pouring it out of the bottle, but inserting a syringe into it and drawing it into it before each wash, pulling out the syringe and leaving the needle in the bottle.
and you don’t need to dilute anything!
+1! otolaryngologists themselves advise!
I just can’t do anything.
I just can’t do anything.
Thank you all for your feedback: flower:
ahh. We use a spray for adults - the spout is tightly fixed there..
Maybe someone knows a way to remove it?
How can I remove it, huh?
I just can’t do anything.
no need to open it, fill it through a syringe.
Maybe someone knows a way to remove it?
How can I remove it, huh?
And the nose is really firmly fixed. It is necessary to remove not the entire nozzle, but precisely the part that is inserted into the nose.
I barely tore it off, there’s no other way to put it. and the back is also attached very tightly.
aquamris is a show off by and large :))
and you don’t need to dilute anything!
The first is expensive, the second is cheap.
We use Aqua Maris.
I tried both the older one and the little one. effective, I liked it, and I hope the kids do too :)!
In general, I learned a lot for myself from this thread!
I wish everyone not to get sick! :flower:
The first is expensive, the second is cheap.
We use Aqua Maris.
Actually, saline solution is a PHYSIOLOGICAL SOLUTION of 0.9% sodium chloride, that is, salt. Those who are familiar with chemistry can dilute simple table salt in boiled water, the main thing is to maintain concentration. How aquamaris and others may differ from saline solution is the presence of microelements. But I think that the price of all these aquamaris is unreasonably high.
That's exactly what we do! cheap and convenient! I sometimes wash myself with the same saline solution)))
Yes, my doctor friend told me that all these aqualors and so on. They differ in that some minerals are added there, which supposedly improve the situation in the nose even more :)
Analyzing my experience of using such things, I can say that there seems to be something in it. but they taste less pleasant compared to a simple salt solution))
Although this may not be important, it somehow makes me feel calmer.
Although this may not be important, it somehow makes me feel calmer.
and we wash with Physiomer and Aqualor, although it’s expensive, it’s very convenient
Thank you very much, but we are still small and don’t know how to blow our noses.
and you don’t need to dilute anything!
We have aquamaris, which can be used from a year old, in a glass bottle. there this “nose” can be removed. and there is a small hole on the side. I insert the syringe there and fill it in. but since the bottle is under pressure, the syringe must be constantly removed, otherwise everything comes back out. It turns out that I'm pouring just a little bit at a time. but yesterday I filled it almost to the neck :)
Thank you all for your feedback: flower:
Humer is a fairy tale - two sprays and your nose is washed out. support:
http://www.smed.ru/userfiles/products/preview/78809.jpg what kind of drug is this? tell me more details, please. otherwise Yandex gives car links)))
very convenient for spraying and rinsing the nose
Maybe someone knows a way to remove it?
How can I remove it, huh?
ENT forbade us to use Humer. Too strong a stream said. But maybe this is specifically for us. 🙂
On the topic, you can replace it IHMO and it is necessary, unless of course you want to sponsor other people’s pockets.
I washed my eldest son’s nose with a syringe when he was two years old. And we got otitis media, and then the ENT specialist scolded me very much for washing it. .
I rinse it this way: in front of Vanya, I bend my head and pour it in, it won’t reach his ears physically, I have to make sure his head is down. I do the same for myself.

Saline solution instead of Aquamaris.
Is it possible to use saline solution or is this already a medicine?
The saline solution is just simpler in composition. As I understand it, it is salt and water in a certain proportion. And Aquamaris is sea water, with sea salt and minerals.
Our doctor said it was the same in terms of effectiveness.
Ours says the same thing, but it’s more convenient for us to use a spray, spray it, spray it, and use the saline solution only with a pipette?
Saline solution is even better, in the sense that it’s not as bad as supposedly buying sea water for thousands of Mullons)))). And the more you drip, the better ;). So saline solution definitely wins :).
but it’s more convenient for us to spray, sprinkled, sprayed
and then pour saline solution into an aquamaris bottle and use it with the same success ;).
We always take Aqualor Baby, but now we use a physiometer, it doesn’t help)
We always take Aqualor Baby, but now we use a physiometer, it doesn’t help)
What should I do :). Then you have to pay purely for convenience and packaging)))))).
Our doctor said it was the same in terms of effectiveness.
You can also use mineral water without gases (I “weather” the usual Obukhov water) - there you will find both salts and minerals))) and not
By the way, I taught my daughter how to rinse her nose - we stand over the bathtub, and from a syringe (without a needle) we inject mineral water into the nose - the water immediately flows out.
saline solution It’s much cheaper, especially since I’ll pour it into an Aquamaris bottle (and I have a lot of them))) :ugu:
You can just use salt water)))).
Saline solution is even better, in the sense that it’s not so bad,
In general, I buy sea salt (table salt) in the store, dilute it in water and rinse it.
Is it possible to use saline solution or is this already a medicine?
Read Komarovsky, something like “About Salin spray”
It is used for the treatment and prevention of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, the treatment of allergic rhinitis, dry nose, and simply for hygiene of the nasal cavity.
It is better to consult a pediatrician or ENT doctor. After all, we are talking about your child.
In general, ENT doctors advise that Aqua Maris is better, but Aqualor is even better. It is in a large bottle, not a dosed spray, it turns out
yeah, off to read it :)
In general, I buy sea salt (table salt) in the store, dilute it in water and rinse it
I do the same for myself and my eldest, the little one hasn’t run out of aqualor yet, when it runs out, I’ll also wash it with salt, salt is salt in Africa too. By the way, pour in half a pipette - it rinses better than these sprinklers, and it’s not so disgusting.
saline solution It’s much cheaper, especially when I pour it into an Aquamaris bottle
We also came to the same decision. For the older one it takes liters 😀
and if you went to visit, or somewhere else
We will pour this same saline solution into a bottle from the same aquamaris and take it with us in our pocket :)
You can also use mineral water without gases (I “evaporate” the usual Obukhov water)
At the appointment, the physiotherapist said: “A mineral water like Obukhovskaya, only without gas or salt water - it’s all no worse than aquamaris, the only difference is the price.”
I wash my nose with Aquamaris every evening, maybe I can use saline solution or is that already a medicine?
Even homemade water and salt help :)

Saline solution instead of aquamaris?
Mobile application “Happy Mama” 4.7 Communicating in the application is much more convenient!
I do this, the aquamaris ran out, I took ampoules of saline solution and poured it in and that’s it, it’s cheaper))
You can’t pour saline solution like aquamaris! My sister, on the advice of a “smart” doctor, poured saline solution into her son’s nose... They ended up in the hospital... They only made the disease worse. (And he suffered from obstructive bronchitis.)
How is that? where did she pour it, that the bronchitis got worse? I can say from myself that saline solution is softer and rinses better
I’m just writing what the doctor said at the hospital... She said specifically about saline solution. I also found on the net that small children shouldn’t just rinse their noses with it, but only drop a drop at a time. I won’t argue with you. I’m not a doctor. .Wrote the words of the attending physician in the post.
This means I’m removing this light green (or pink) attachment. Why put her on a syringe? Do I need to fill it into the bottle, and not into the nozzle? Well, that’s okay, but from which other end do you pour the saline solution? On the other end, the nozzle has the thinnest outlet, where the spray comes from. How can you put something in there? and for what??
I still don’t understand why I need to pour saline solution into my nose with a syringe, I just need a shower in my nose. That’s why I’m trying to fill the Aqualor bottle with saline solution.
mineral water is better than aquamaris
Actually, aquamaris is salt water (sea water)
and saline solution is sodium chloride
We always use it. However, I don’t pour it into any bottles.
I've been using only saline solution for a long time)))
yes, I rinse my nose with saline. solution - both cheap and cheerful
The Forte pharmacy sells AQUAMASTER, it costs 130 rubles. It has a very convenient spray bottle. So I poured saline solution into it)
Thank you! Yes, even this Aquamaster can be considered as an alternative to Aquamaris, it costs 2 times less!
The doctor advised me and said that saline solution or 1 teaspoon of salt per liter of water is better than what is in bottles. There are still different additives there. and the saline solution is very good)
they have different salt ratios. Then it’s not a saline solution, but an isotonic solution
I bought aquamaris once, then constantly poured saline solution into it, did not sterilize it
I do this to save money. I buy a large bottle of saline solution, it costs about 30 rubles. I pour it into a Derinat bottle using a syringe with a needle and use it :)

Saline solution, Humer, Aquamaris - which is more convenient and how do they differ?
First we bought Aquamaris, and then we looked at the composition - it’s similar to saline solution.
cheap and cheerful.
In almost 3 years with two children, I have learned many analogues of expensive medicines))))
Why doesn't it make any difference?

Can saline solution be used instead of Aquamaris, Salina, etc. (cm)?
Can saline solution be used instead of Aquamaris, Aqualor, Salina and other similar drugs for rinsing the baby’s nose?
Phys. The solution is also salt water, only the aquamaris contains sea salt, but the saline solution does not. Aquamaris 50 ml. 5 times more expensive than a 250 ml bottle of saline solution. You can make your own sea salt solution, not very concentrated. I used a pipette to cleanse my infant daughter’s nose. Under no circumstances should you rinse under pressure, since babies have all their organs nearby and rinsing will lead to the transfer of infection from the nose to the nose. There is also a risk of infection getting into the tear ducts. Therefore, take a pipette and put a couple of drops of the solution into your nostril, and then use a syringe or whatever you use to suck it out. Aquamaris is not always more effective. In the initial stages of the disease, I did not see the difference between aquamaris, ordinary salt water and saline solution. But Aquamaris dealt with lingering snot from his 3-year-old son in a day, otherwise his nose would run for two weeks.
Yes, why not? It will perfectly moisturize and rinse your nose, but what else do you expect from these products?
They are all similar, such solutions. It’s just those that are more adapted for the nose and enriched with something, some from sea water, which, in principle, is useful. And it has a more beneficial effect on the nasal mucosa.
And one more thing, if you take Salin, Aquamaris, then there is a special spray bottle. Infants, on the good side, need to irrigate the mucous membrane, and not drip it, so the risk of complications is less. That is, it’s not even a matter of the solution, but the form of release of the drug.
Throat sprays are contraindicated for them. They can cause bronchospasm.
Nasal sprays are a different matter, if you use them correctly (the baby is held up in a column, the bottle is facing upward), so it sprays not in a stream, but like a cloud, sprays the solution, due to this it moisturizes the mucous membrane evenly. When instilled, there is a possibility that the solution will enter the Eustachian tube. But this does not happen with irrigation.
And the answer clearly states - “spray”, “irrigate”. Do not spray! - 3 years ago
Aquamaris, humer. Or saline solution.
Good afternoon, at night we got sniffles ((((( (we are 1.5 years old). I no longer have the strength to fight them. There are no other symptoms of the disease yet. So that’s the question, I’ve heard more than once that all expensive washes like Aquamaris, Humer etc. they don’t do much good, they say that ordinary saline solution gives the same effect. Doctors have the opposite opinion. The prices are steep, 50 ml of aquamaris is around 130 UAH. If you rinse your nose every hour, a bottle will last for a day or two. I went crazy and bought a Humer 150 ml. almost 200 UAH. I hope to overcome snot faster than before washing with saline. Your experience and opinion? Which is better and is it worth overpaying?

Under pressure, saline solutions cannot be so small. only saline solution
My friend takes the smallest pharmacy pear, draws in some fizz, lowers the baby’s head a little and over the sink it squirts into one nostril, out the other, and then away. It really helps, but I don’t think it’s possible until 1.6, although I was shy. I also washed two children like this twice. Not a single expensive wash or drop has given this effect. I'm really pleased. She's been washing it like this for 5 years now, and there are no problems with earworms. I’ve been afraid of my children every now and then, but for my own reasons, I still can’t say what’s going on in my mouth. Ale pear maє buti sama-small, so it’s important. Is it possible for anyone else to help, but before that, you can consult for any age. I was timid in 1.6.
Or you can dispense 1 liter of water 2 tsp. salts
My aunt advised me to take Aminocaproic acid. It helped very well, it’s a solution, you can drip it from a pipette, you can also drop it into the little ones’ mouths (my daughter is 1.8 years old) so that the infection doesn’t go down. My aunt is a children's nurse in the village, many years of experience, there is no pediatrician there, so she is both a doctor and a nurse)) I trust her. You can also give a very small dose of Biseptol for children (it contains a very small percentage of the antibiotic), but in my opinion this is also undesirable at such an early age, this is already a last resort)) Don’t get sick!
We use saline and it works great. Of course, when my daughter was born, like crazy I bought a Humera, etc., but thank God, I went crazy)
N4t4liy4 March 19, 2017, 2:28 pm 3
And that's what our pediatrician told us
And I drink like this (water + salt) - recipe from Komarovsky. I just pour it into the little bottle with nasal spray, it’s really easy to spray it out
Mari07 March 21, 2017, 10:06
And I have 2 daughters, 3.5 and 9 months. When people are sick or for prevention, I make a saline solution or a solution with sea salt myself. The effect is better than pharmacy ones, it’s 100%. I don’t see the point in giving money to pharmaceutical companies for water that you can make yourself
Milka March 19, 2017, 2:29 pm 1
We tried all sorts of things, the saline solution is inconvenient to instill, it actually just goes up the nose and pours out the same way - I personally didn’t like it. We use Atomer spray for hygiene, and for a runny nose Quix hypertonic solution - we really like it
I say to us too, try it as an experiment. it's very concentrated.
You can’t blindly trust pediatricians; you don’t know how he studied and what kind of specialist he is.
and in general, in our system, a pediatrician is the link between you and a specialist. that is, the pediatrician must determine the symptoms and where you should go for further treatment.
Olya14 March 19, 2017, 2:57 pm
I agree with you, thank you
Milka March 19, 2017, 15:20 1
Estb Kwix hypertonic solution for treatment and Kwix hypotonic solution for hygiene, but it is the hypertonic solution (the one that is very salty) that is effective for a runny nose, it relieves swelling of the mucous membranes
I bought Meralis spray for children and as soon as it starts sniffling I spray it and it’s great. We were in the hospital and the manager sent us to an ENT specialist, who prescribed it for us. But you are small, you need to consult a doctor. I spray it on myself too, it works. And the little one used to have a runny nose for two or three weeks.
maxim March 19, 2017, 2:45 pm
Swelling of the mucous membrane in the nose
maxim March 19, 2017, 2:46 pm
We use Aqua Maris, but again, it’s often not an option either.
So Meralis is a vasoconstrictor. What does saline solution have to do with it?
We use saline solution. In my opinion, there is no difference.
I buy a Humera monodose, one costs about 10 UAH, and I drop it drop by drop
XTRAIL 19 March 2017, 14:41
Not enough for washing.
ortata March 19, 2017, 10:01 pm
For kids, I always took monodoses of Humer, too, even now, although my daughter is already 2.8. I dripped from the bottle into a glass, and from the glass I put it into a pipette and dripped. Spray is not allowed for small children.
Gayka_ March 19, 2017, 14:32
Saline solution. Mine still drinks it)
Olya14 March 19, 2017, 2:39 pm 1
For little ones, saline solution can even reduce the temperature.
You can, of course, be skeptical about saline and buy something more expensive, but I don’t see the point in letting pharmaceutical corporations make money.
Essentially you are buying the same salt water but in a beautiful bottle.
Using a syringe without pressure over the bathtub, rinses with saline solution. We tried both Humer and Aquamaris - expensive and the effect was the same.
I don’t buy nose spray at all - it’s not for little ones.
Nata_k1 March 19, 2017, 14:33
Lynxx March 19, 2017, 5:19 pm
Or salted boiled water in the same percentage. This is not intramuscular or intravenous administration; there is no difference for the nose.
a syringe without a needle is very convenient and effective.
+ we live according to Komarovsky)) blah blah blah, it hasn’t let me down yet))
I buy Humer hypotonic, it relieves nasal congestion perfectly.
we use this thing
Alla29 March 19, 2017, 21:35
+++ for Humer. I wash it for myself and my children, it works! Before this, they used just saline solution, but salt (it runs out quickly, is not beneficial, for “rinse every day” it will do). + Sinupret was prescribed for treatment. He helped us a lot, although the price is a bit high (((
Yes, we have such an aspirator. Very pleased. It happens that at night you even have to rinse your nose and suction it. Very convenient and fast.
We use saline solution.
Nata13 March 19, 2017, 2:58 pm 2
No-salt, for the older one in a spray (4.6), for the younger one (1.5) in drops
Marysia March 20, 2017, 1:02 pm
Nata_D March 19, 2017, 15:04 1
We use AquaMaris, no one has ever said that the child is small for him, we definitely buy it from the age of 1. I tried to rinse with saline solution, but it didn’t work, I couldn’t hold it, I was hysterical. AquaMaris is fine, she even brings some drops herself when the sniffles start to run. I tried saline solution on myself, I always have sinusitis in the spring - it doesn’t wash anything, either I have an advanced case, or a deviated septum is letting me know, but it’s of little use. But Evkazolin copes with a bang, I can breathe.
Nezlobina March 19, 2017, 15:09 3
Saline solution, I simply pour it into the required jar.
NEMO1 March 19, 2017, 15:36
If saline solution was sold in an aerosol, I would buy saline solution.
I buy Marimer or Aqua spray, they are cheaper than Humera, but they come in an aerosol and are easy to rinse.
I don't risk a syringe
A bottle of eucazoline spray is great!
NEMO1 March 20, 2017, 08:37
Buy medicine for the sake of a bottle?))))
I’m happy with Aquaspray and Marimer - I don’t need to pour anything anywhere)
You can pour saline solution into a bottle of Farmazolin and spray it. There you can regulate the pressure yourself, because you simply press on the plastic bottle. I personally just fill in 2 ml of saline solution with a syringe and immediately suck it out with an aspirator, which is put on a vacuum cleaner. I've been doing this since birth. But they also say that it can affect the ears, the vacuum cleaner sucks a lot, you need to be careful. You can suck it yourself with an aspirator without a vacuum cleaner. But since the child spins around a lot, I find it more convenient to use a vacuum cleaner. A second of action and a full tube of snot.
Do you have a stuffy nose? when does spin breathe normally? At that age, our teeth were coming out, and we had snot for 2-3 weeks. A tooth came out and the snot went away on its own. Saline solution with a large pirette or syringe - if necessary, rinse. Humer in emergency cases, if it does not allow nose drops

I noticed, maybe of course it’s a coincidence, but all the teeth were accompanied by sniffles
We are already 16, it took a month to get fangs - I didn’t even bother anymore) the whole family taught us how to blow a nose)))
We tried all the sprays from pharmacies. The best thing is Aquamax (saline solution already diluted) washes perfectly, the pressure is good, it lasts a long time. Price for 100 ml (decent bottle) about 75 UAH
The pediatrician advised us, for now, to just wipe the nose with a solution of soda 1 tsp per glass of water, mouth, around the mouth, hands (because it puts your hands in your face) to prevent the disease from developing.

Aquamaris - cheap analogues list with prices
Viral and bacterial diseases of the nasopharynx require constant cleansing of the mucous membrane. Moreover, such procedures are needed not only by adults, but also by the smallest inhabitants of the planet – newborns. They have not yet learned to pick and blow their nose, or get rid of crusts and sniffles. Aquamaris drops are simply a godsend for baby hygiene.
Aquamaris (Croatia) is not just drops, but a whole series of products intended for hygienic and therapeutic procedures during the treatment of the ear, nose and throat. For therapy, the doctor selects exactly the form of the drug that will be the most convenient and targeted in each individual case.
In this article we will talk about cheap analogues of Aquamaris and their effectiveness.
Aquamaris Forms
The Aquamaris line is represented by isotonic (NaCl 0.9%) and hypertonic (NaCl over 0.9%) solutions.
Isotonic remedies Aquamaris:
- plus (spray) – allowed from one year onwards;
- classic (spray) – from one year onwards;
- norms (balloon for irrigation) – from two years;
- baby (irrigation balloon) – from three months;
- oto (spray) – from the first year of life;
- for children (nasal drops) – from the first days of life;
- device (otolaryngological, individual) - from three years.
The presented products create a physiological environment in the area of use, and are more indicated for hygiene, cleansing and moisturizing the mucous membrane.
Hypertensive drugs Aquamaris:
Concentrated solutions, over 0.9% NaCl, contain more salt, and therefore are able to rid the mucous membrane of excess fluid by “pulling” it towards itself. Cells of pathogenic microflora also become dehydrated and die under the influence of salts. Therefore, for bacterial processes in the throat and nose, the best would be Aquamaris for the throat and Aquamaris Strong.
Aquamaris drops or spray, as well as its analogues, which are cheaper, are indispensable assistants during pregnancy and breastfeeding, when the use of medications is limited.
Each form of aquamaris has its own instructions, which contain all the recommendations in detail.
Composition and effect of aquamaris
All products in this series have a simple composition, which includes sea water, distilled water and trace elements: zinc, calcium, iodine, sodium chlorine, selenium, magnesium. It should be noted that the drug does not contain hazardous substances; there are no dyes or preservatives in it.
Thanks to this composition, metabolic processes in cells are improved, local immunity in the nasopharynx is normalized, and the production of protective mucous secretion is stimulated.
After using Aquamaris, thick snot becomes thinner and comes out more easily. Salt and iodine have a moderate antimicrobial effect, which makes it possible to destroy non-aggressive bacterial colonies. Iodine and salt perfectly relieve swelling and inflammation.
This series is ideal for people whose working conditions are associated with unsatisfactory ecology, especially dusty industries. Otolaryngologists, as a means of moisturizing and protecting the nose, recommend that such workers always have a bottle of aquamaris drops in their pocket (it is lightweight and will not take up much space).
ATTENTION! WE RECOMMEND
For the treatment and prevention of runny nose, sore throat, ARVI and influenza in children and adults, Elena Malysheva recommends the effective drug Immunity from Russian scientists. Thanks to its unique, and most importantly 100% natural composition, the drug is extremely effective in treating sore throats, colds and strengthening the immune system.
Main indications for the use of aquamaris
Despite the simple composition of the product, there are plenty of indications for the use of the drug in question, they are as follows:
- adenoiditis;
- thick snot;
- viral and bacterial rhinitis;
- physiological cleansing of the nose, throat and ears;
- sinusitis;
- vasomotor rhinitis;
- allergic rhinitis;
- dry mucous membranes;
- atrophic rhinitis;
- using the solution before administering medicinal drops and sprays;
- use after surgical interventions to moisturize and improve tissue epithelization;
- tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
Contraindications
In exceptional cases, the drug is not recommended for individual intolerance to salts and a number of trace elements that make up Aquamaris. Also, the drug in the form of a spray is prohibited for use in children under 12 months.
Can complaints appear after using Aquamaris drops and spray?
In rare cases, and more often when using hypertonic solutions, the patient may complain of dryness or a mild allergic reaction in the form of sneezing, tickling, or a slight burning sensation. As a rule, these symptoms disappear within a few minutes.
Dosages
In principle, it is impossible to overdose on drops based on sea water. But the developers of the series give the following recommendations:
- newborns (drops only) – 1–2 drops up to four times a day;
- from one year of age - 2 drops 3-4 times a day, or in the form of a spray - two injections in the same mode;
- Adults can apply all forms of Aquamaris up to 8 times daily.
The course of treatment usually ranges from 5 to 30 days. Then a month-long break is taken, and if the doctor gives recommendations for a second cycle of therapy, instillations or injections are resumed.
Why choose aquamaris?
The advantages of drops and sprays of this line are as follows:
- Possibility of use in newborns, pregnant women and during lactation;
- ease of use;
- sterility;
- safety and effectiveness;
- the composition consists only of natural ingredients;
- complies with all pharmacological standards and European standard parameters;
- duration of use without addiction;
- does not cause allergies.
Despite the advantages of the product in question, patients are interested in analogues, as a rule, referring only to the selection of cheaper drops and sprays.
List of cheap analogues of Aquamaris
The most sold form of aquamaris in pharmacies is a spray with a volume of 30 ml. The price for such a bottle is in the range of 280–300 rubles, so we will proceed from it.
Now let’s make a small list of Aquamaris analogues and determine which drugs will be cheaper and which will be more expensive.
- aquamaster – 190–210 rubles (for 50 ml);
- Rizosin – 90 rubles (for 20 ml);
- aqua-rinosol – 70–90 rubles (for 20 ml);
- no-salt – 60–80 rubles (for 15 ml);
- sialor aqua (drops) – 150 rubles (for 10 ml);
- nazol aqua – 70 rubles (for 30 ml);
- aqualor soft – 250–270 rubles (for 50 ml).
- Quickx - from 340 rubles (for 30 ml);
- Humer – from 400 rubles (for 50 ml);
- quickx aloe – from 320 rubles (for 30 ml);
- morenasal - from 310 rubles (for 50 ml).
Another option for a cheap replacement can be homemade saline solutions, although there is a lot of contrary information on their concentration on the Internet. The Croatian manufacturer Aquamaris does not recommend making saline solutions at home, arguing that the proportions and sterility of the solution will always be compromised, and in some cases can be harmful.
Despite this remark, a huge number of patients successfully wash their nose at home. The main thing is to correctly observe the proportions of salt and water: take 0.5 tsp per 500 ml of water. salt. This composition will not bring side effects, and will be the cheapest analogue not only to aquamaris, but also to all its other pharmacy analogues.
How to make Aquamaris with your own hands
It is difficult to clearly compare analogues by price, because... Drug volumes vary, and patients often miss these details. Seeing cheap medicine on the shelves, people grab the first drug they come across, and then a few days later they run for another bottle, because... The dose was not enough for the course of treatment.
Therefore, carefully compare the following positions:
- price;
- volume;
- frequency of administration per day, i.e. daily consumption of the drug.
Only these parameters can inform whether a cheaper analogue has been selected or not.
At appointments with an ENT doctor, questions are often asked about the choice of one remedy or another, for example, which is better, aquamaris or aqualor? Therefore, let’s move on to a small comparative assessment of drugs based on sea water.
Comparative evaluation of popular saline solutions
The main task in the selection of analogues is to choose a drug that will completely duplicate the main drug in all therapeutic indicators, regardless of whether the substitute is a structural analogue (i.e. completely identical in composition) or not.
Aqualor or aquamaris - which is better?
The main healing unit of these drugs is sea water, which undergoes appropriate treatment, including dilution, sterilization, ultrafiltration while maintaining mineralization. The only difference is in the place of extraction of sea water. Aqua Maris is a product of the Adriatic, Aqualor is a product of the Atlantic.
Aqua Maris and Aqualor are available in the form of isotonic and hypertonic solutions. Used to treat the nose and throat. A distinctive feature of Aquamaris remains its diverse palette of sprays, which includes a spray for hygienic treatment of ears - Aqua Maris Oto.
Before buying saline solutions, parents are interested in what is better to buy for children - Aquamaris or Aqualor? Both lines are suitable for newborn babies - Aquamaris and Aqualor. These drugs are already used in the first days of babies’ lives to cleanse the nose of accumulated mucus.
Comparing Aqualor Baby or Aquamaris drops, we can clearly say that both drugs have a completely identical therapeutic effect. For older children (from one year old), absolutely all forms of these drugs are suitable.
Both drugs are easy to use and can be stored for up to 45 days after starting to use the drops or spray.
If you monitor the prices for Aqualor and Aquamaris, it is easy to notice that these drugs are in the same pricing policy.
It is difficult to say what to prefer; most likely, the method of experiment and personal preference will win here, and a doctor’s advice will not be superfluous.
Quix or aquamaris – what to choose?
Unlike Aquamaris, Quix does not have an isotonic form, although the purpose of the two drugs is identical. They both improve the condition of the epithelium, moisturize the nasal passages, and resist viruses and bacteria.
Quix is used only from the age of three months, and Aquamaris is allowed from the neonatal period. Aquamaris has many types, which allows the patient and doctor to choose the best remedy.
The advantage of Quix is its filter. It consists of a bacterial layer that traps pathogenic microorganisms. This feature extends the shelf life of the drug, allowing the spray to be stored for up to 180 days.
Aquamaris strong and aquamaris for the throat are reminiscent of Quix in their action, because they also have a NaCl content of more than 0.9%. The high concentration of salt in Quixa (2.5%) shows a good anti-edematous and antiseptic effect - this is undoubtedly the main advantage of the spray.
Aquamaris has a price advantage; it is cheaper, although the difference is quite insignificant, about 30–40 rubles.
Quix or Aquamaris is up to the buyer, one exception is children from 0 to 3 months, for whom only the second remedy is indicated. The best drug will be the one that will bring the maximum effect from the procedures, but for this you need to experiment a little.
Dolphin or aquamaris - which is better?
Comparing these products, one similarity can be stated - this is the basis of the products - sea water. Dolphin also contains licorice and rose hips. Aquamaris is a hygienic product with a slight therapeutic effect, moisturizing and cleansing the nasal passages, throat, and ears.
Dolphin has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating properties. This makes it possible to use the drug for mucosal hyperplasia, sinusitis and other inflammatory processes of the nasopharynx.
Dolphin, according to the instructions, is prohibited in children under 4 years of age, if there is a risk of bleeding, anatomical problems with the nasal septum, allergies, tumors of the nasopharynx, or severe bilateral swelling of the nose.
Dolphin is available in 1 gram bags, the price for 30 pieces will be approximately 300 rubles. Hence the conclusion - the drugs have the same cost. Dolphin or aquamaris - let the doctor decide, this will be the best decision.
Instructions for using Dolphin for nasal rinsing.
Aquamaris or saline solution – what to choose?
Children's aquamaris has the same analogues as for adults, because... all salt preparations, without exception, are indicated in pediatrics, and in the list provided above you can find which remedies are cheaper and which are a little more expensive.
Many pediatricians suggest using saline solution as a cheap alternative. It is much cheaper and larger in volume. Aquamaris and saline are isotonic solutions, although two of the former have a hypertonic form.
Aquamaris is richer in composition and action, more convenient to use and has different forms: drops and spray.
A saline solution is better as a cheap remedy, but in any case, especially if rhinitis has begun, a doctor should select a solution for cleansing the mucous membrane.
Aquamaris is a wonderful series that meets two standards - price and quality. All drops and sprays of the drug perfectly perform their function in the prevention and treatment of rhinitis, as well as the hygiene of the nasal passages from birth.
The effect of aquamaris has been noticed in acute respiratory viral infections, bacterial rhinitis, allergies, sulfur plugs and inflammatory processes in the throat. Whether analogues are needed for this product is up to you to decide. Some of them have the same price or may be more expensive, but such products are functional, supplemented with mineral composition and have different concentrations.
Cheaper products are not always convenient, for example, saline solution.
The selection of all analogues for children, regardless of whether they are cheap or expensive, should be based only on the permitted age category according to official instructions.
Buyers of the Aquamaris series should know that this line refers to hygiene products for the nasopharynx and ears, and cannot fully replace medical therapy for all types of rhinitis and sinusitis. Therefore, to treat diseases of the nasopharynx and ears, always contact an otolaryngologist in person, where an adequate diagnosis will be carried out and a treatment regimen for the disease will be determined. Be healthy!
And a little about secrets.
If you or your child are often sick and are treated with antibiotics alone, know that you are only treating the effect, not the cause.
So you simply “spare” money to pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies and get sick more often.
STOP! Stop feeding someone you don't know. You just need to boost your immunity and you will forget what it’s like to be sick!
There is a way for this! Confirmed by E. Malysheva, A. Myasnikov and our readers! Read more.

How do you wash the nose of children under one year old? saline? or sea water? And what do you bury?
And something like AQUAMARIS spray for children.
My son and I were in the hospital when he was 6 months old, we had snot there... we were given DIOXIDINE (1 ampoule costs about 40 rubles), it’s big, enough for the period until the snot goes away.
Mix dioxidin with saline solution 50/50... and rinse with aquamaris and drip the solution three times a day... two days and the snot is gone. We are already 3 years old, we are still being treated this way, only with Dioxidin alone

aquamaris and saline solution
One children's ENT specialist explained to me (in CELT, if that) that there is no fundamental difference in what to spray with.
That’s why I try to buy saline solution and pour it into something “fizzy”
I drip saline solution, not for the sake of economy, but because the salt content there is optimal, this solution will not cause swelling of the mucous membrane, but the same aquamaris can cause it in the initial stages of the disease. (this is from the category of physics and chemistry, in cells, now I don’t remember exactly the whole rationale, but the essence is still the same).
After purulent otitis, the ENT told us not to use sprays (which can provoke otitis in small children), but to drip saline solution from a pipette.
a little off: you, the main thing, use the specified substances according to science, so as not to get otitis media
a spoonful of sea salt in a glass of water - the same eggs
I use the packaging from the aquamaris I bought once - I make the saline solution myself. Or I make a weak solution of furatsilin for the same purposes.
no difference in terms of therapeutic effect
Hold it under running hot water and try to tear it off. We also use pinasol spray, but the volume is small.
I inject it with a syringe through the hole. I perked up, it comes out well.
There is absolutely no difference. Saline solution is isotonic, so is Aquamaris and Co. I use a bottle from Salina - the spray can be easily removed there. But the doctor warned us that we should not use saline solutions for a long time - salt causes the mucous membrane to “ooze” and leak.
Can you tell me more about “oozing”? I don't have enough imagination to imagine what could cause this.
In her version, this is called “salt squeezes out the mucous membrane.” Perhaps it meant that it provokes the release of fluid, something like that. I trust the doctor completely, I listen. But she has a very “live”, figurative language, she tries to explain the mechanism of the disease and treatment to both adults and young patients as clearly as possible. Perhaps sometimes too accessible :)
