Linkas (syrup) for cough - instructions for use, dosages, analogues

Linkas cough syrup is a complex homeopathic remedy that helps increase secretions from the lungs and bronchi. The drug is also used to reduce the severity of cough. Most often, doctors prescribe the drug for the development of inflammatory lesions of the respiratory system. For therapy to be as effective as possible, it is important to strictly adhere to the instructions.

Composition and effectiveness

There are several main types of this drug in syrup form. These include the usual sugar-free linkas product, which is suitable for people with diabetes, and the drug plus expectorant, which contains an increased volume of expectorant components.

These substances do not differ too much in composition. Both drugs contain exclusively natural ingredients:

  1. Liquorice root. This product contains flavone glycosides. It also contains glycyrrhizic acid and many vitamins. Contains essential oils, potassium and calcium salts. Thanks to the unique composition of this product, it helps to cope with inflammatory processes and eliminate allergies. In addition, licorice root has pronounced immunostimulating and antioxidant properties.
  2. Yellow-fruited nightshade. It contains steroid alkaloids. This plant is rich in mucopolysaccharide and vitamin C. Thanks to this, it is possible to soften the cough, achieve an anti-allergic effect and activate the removal of phlegm from the respiratory system.
  3. Flowers of medicinal marshmallow. They contain fatty oils, mineral salts, and pectin. This product is rich in lecithin, polysaccharides, starch and asparagine. Due to the presence of natural compounds in the composition, it is possible to cover the mucous membranes with an invisible film, which perfectly protects them from irritation.
  4. Vascular adhadota. It contains essential oils, vitamins, and alkaloids. Due to this, the component provides a pronounced expectorant effect. As a result, the activity of epithelial receptors increases, the removal of sputum is stimulated and the functioning of alveolar cells is normalized. In addition, this component eliminates bronchial contractions and significantly improves respiratory function. The product is an excellent prevention of asthma.
  5. Long pepper – the preparation contains its fruits and rhizomes. These substances are rich in B vitamins. They also contain carotene and the alkaloid piperine. Due to this, the plant produces an antiseptic and expectorant effect. It effectively copes with the inflammatory process and significantly improves the patient’s condition.
  6. Common basil. This plant contains tanning components, flavonoids and phytoncides. It contains glycosides, ascorbic acid and fiber. Therefore, the product has an anesthetic and antiseptic effect. It also has anti-inflammatory characteristics. Thanks to its presence in the composition, the drug increases the activity of a weakened body and restores the activity of the respiratory system.
  7. Broadleaf Cordia. This element has an active effect on the affected organ, since it has an antispasmodic effect and helps relieve pain.
  8. Fragrant violet flowers. This plant contains fatty oils, leukoanthocyanidins, and phenolcarboxylic acids. It is rich in triglycerides and alkaloids. Thanks to this, it is possible to obtain an antipyretic and calming effect. The product perfectly eliminates cough and ensures rapid removal of phlegm.
  9. Common hyssop. This substance includes diosmin, which has antiseptic, antitussive and analgesic properties. The product also effectively eliminates inflammation.

All active components of the drug consist of dry plant extracts. The medicine does not contain chemical ingredients that are obtained synthetically.

Due to the natural composition, it is possible to cope with cough and other symptoms of pathology. Moreover, the drug successfully copes with the cause of the disease.

The syrup also contains additional ingredients. These include the following:

  • glycerol;
  • sucrose;
  • purified water;
  • clove oil;
  • propyl parahydroxybenzoate;
  • peppermint oil;
  • methyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Reviews of Linkas syrup indicate that the medicine dissolves sputum and helps to liquefy it. Thanks to the use of the substance, it is possible to accelerate the removal of secretions from the organs of the respiratory system.

Indications for use of Linkas

This medicinal substance can be part of a complex therapy for inflammatory and infectious lesions of the respiratory system. The main indications for the use of this substance include the following:

  • cough that accompanies ARVI and influenza;
  • acute and chronic form of pharyngitis;
  • tracheitis;
  • laryngitis;
  • tracheobronchitis;
  • chronic pulmonary obstruction;
  • various forms of bronchitis;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • pneumonia;
  • smoker's cough;
  • cystic fibrosis.

Syrup can be the only drug for treatment or prescribed as part of complex therapy. In any case, such decisions are made only by the doctor.

ATTENTION! WE RECOMMEND

For the treatment and prevention of runny nose, sore throat, ARVI and influenza in children and adults, Elena Malysheva recommends the effective drug Immunity from Russian scientists. Thanks to its unique, and most importantly 100% natural composition, the drug is extremely effective in treating sore throats, colds and strengthening the immune system.

How to use Linkas for children

The instructions for Linkas syrup for children state that the drug should not be given to babies under 6 months of age. This is due to the lack of clinical trials in this age category. Therefore, no one can be sure of the safety of this medicine. The only restriction on the use of syrup is intolerance to the ingredients of the product.

To ensure effective therapy, Linkas cough syrup for children is drunk a quarter of an hour before meals or the same time after meals. It is best to use the product at regular intervals.

Babies should be given syrup for no more than 1 week. In most cases, the required result is achieved within 3 days. If after a week it is not possible to achieve noticeable improvements, you should choose another substance. This should be done by the attending physician.

The dosage of the substance depends on the age category:

  • children from 6 months to 3 years are given half a teaspoon 2-3 times a day;
  • for 3-8 years old, 1 teaspoon of the product is recommended 3 times a day;
  • at 8-12 years old you need to use 1 teaspoon of the substance 4 times.

It is strictly forbidden to self-medicate and try to increase the recommended doses. Reviews of Linkas syrup for children indicate that consuming an excess amount of the substance can provoke allergies.

What cough medicines are best for a child?

Rules for using syrup for adults

To cope with cough, adult patients are prescribed 10 ml of the product - about 2 teaspoons, which are taken at a time. It is recommended to take the medicine 4 times a day in total. In some situations, the frequency of use must be increased to 6 times a day. After the condition improves, the dosage is reduced to the volume recommended by the instructions.

Contraindications

This product must not be used in the following situations:

  • individual intolerance;
  • diabetes;
  • age less than 6 months;
  • pregnancy;
  • lactation.

Side effects

As a rule, patients tolerate this drug well. However, in rare cases, linkas still provokes adverse reactions. These include allergies, which manifest themselves in the form of skin rashes and itching. Sometimes urticaria develops. In very rare situations, a dangerous complication is observed - angioedema.

If any negative reactions occur, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor immediately. Drug therapy can only be selected by a specialist. Any self-medication options are strictly prohibited.

Drug interactions

The drug is strictly forbidden to be used with cough suppressants. This category includes substances such as codelac, terpincode. Antitussives also include libexin and stoptussin.

Such combinations can provoke stagnation of secretions and the appearance of a secondary infection, which can lead to the development of pneumonia. It is also prohibited to combine the medicine with drugs that suppress the synthesis of bronchial secretions.

Before using the drug, it is advisable to consult a doctor. A specialist will be able to determine the exact causes of the development of the inflammatory process and select the optimal treatment regimen. Thanks to this, it will be possible to prevent complications of the disease.

Overdose

There is no information available regarding the effects of excess consumption of this medicine. However, doctors say that it is very important to take the drug in the required volume, without exceeding the dosage specified in the instructions.

Analogues of Linkas syrup

There are no structural analogues of Linkas that contain the same active ingredient. This product has a unique set of herbal ingredients, and therefore has excellent effectiveness. However, there are similar substances included in the same pharmacological group of cough medications. These include the following:

Which is better - lazolvan or linkas

Many people are interested in what is better – lazolvan or linkas. These medications belong to one group of mucolytics, which have an expectorant effect. They are used for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory lesions of the respiratory system, which are accompanied by the formation of thick secretions.

The main substance of lazolvan is ambroxol. The undoubted advantage of Linkas is that it includes exclusively natural plant extracts. All these ingredients cope with cough and inflammation, have an antipyretic and antispasmodic effect.

However, the natural composition can be a disadvantage. This is true for children who suffer from allergies and bronchial asthma. In addition, linkas contains harmful ingredients – E216 and E218. There is evidence that these supplements can provoke the growth of tumor formations.

Since there are not enough clinical trials, Linkas is prohibited to drink during pregnancy and lactation. It is also contraindicated for children under 6 months.

At the same time, lazolvan is allowed to be taken with caution in the 2-3 trimesters of pregnancy and lactation. However, it is prescribed with great caution in the 1st trimester, in the presence of kidney or liver failure, as well as individual intolerance.

In terms of price, linkas is considered a more profitable means. So, 90 ml of this drug will cost 110 rubles, while 100 ml of Lazolvan costs 240 rubles.

What to choose - herbion or linkas

No less relevant is the question of what is better to choose – herbion or linkas. Both drugs have a completely natural composition. At the same time, herbion contains a smaller amount of active substances. There are 2 varieties of this product - based on plantain and primrose.

A less diverse composition reduces the risk of developing allergies, but does not always give the desired effect. Although numerous reviews indicate that the drug is excellent for a complex effect on various types of cough.

In any case, only a specialist should choose a specific remedy, taking into account the clinical picture and characteristics of the patient’s body.

Link storage conditions

Linkas can be purchased at any pharmacy. However, a recipe is not required for this. The product can be stored for 3 years after manufacture. No special conditions are needed in this case. The temperature should not exceed 25 degrees. It is also recommended to keep the drug out of reach of children.

Linkas is considered a fairly effective remedy, which has a natural composition and copes well with various types of cough. It is very important to take this substance only as prescribed by a doctor. This will help cope with the disease and prevent the development of dangerous complications. If side effects occur, you should stop using the substance and choose an effective analogue.

And a little about secrets.

If you or your child are often sick and are treated with antibiotics alone, know that you are only treating the effect, not the cause.

So you simply “spare” money to pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies and get sick more often.

STOP! Stop feeding someone you don't know. You just need to boost your immunity and you will forget what it’s like to be sick!

There is a way for this! Confirmed by E. Malysheva, A. Myasnikov and our readers! Read more.

Linkas syrup: reviews of the drug

Definitely the best cough syrup for children. Its main advantage is its taste. It is very pleasant and you literally have to hide the bottle from children (I have two of them: a 9-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter). At the same time, the drug does not have dangerous chemical components and is not inferior in its effectiveness to less tasty natural analogues. The price is also reasonable. But the main thing is that the children recover very quickly. I recommend it to all mothers - an excellent protector of the child’s body from coughing.

The taste is unbearable. Drinking this stuff is not like a child - not every adult can do it. My child refused to drink it and no amount of persuasion helped. When I tried it myself, I felt sympathy for the child. Indeed, the taste is absolutely unbearable. I don’t recommend it to anyone - thank God, the market for cough syrups today is replete with many products of very different prices, and therefore you can probably find something more digestible.

I first came across the medicine when my 5-year-old daughter began to have an attack of a very strong dry hacking cough. The drug was recommended by the attending physician, and my mother supported his recommendation with both hands, since she herself was treated with this drug. I tried it and was not disappointed. The cough went away on the second day, the illness disappeared on the 7th. Since then I've always kept a bottle at home. And I advise you the same.

The drug turned out to be a hoax. It is indicated that the medicine is supposedly natural and harmless. What's the reality? But in fact, my child was poisoned by this very type of natural medicine. I bought the drug for a reason - I received a referral from my attending physician. I bought it, looked at the terms - everything is fine. However, after taking it, my son began to have diarrhea. So, well, it happens, nothing, the main thing is the effect. Then the child began vomiting and outright weakness. I measured the temperature - 38.5. Here is a set of side effects. And the child had to endure this horror at the age of 4. This is such a grief medicine. Why did you doubt the naturalness of the medicine? Due to a strong chemical odor in the child's mouth. I definitely don't recommend it. Maybe he helps. But if it doesn’t fit, your child will be seriously tormented.

It is difficult to say anything definite about this drug. This is because the effect of this drug is difficult to assess. It is usually used as an element of complex therapy. This means that if you are cured, then this drug is very effective, and if not, this complex therapy is unsuccessful. Well, or vice versa, you can interpret it as you wish. I would not take this drug, but my wife firmly believes in its effectiveness. And indeed, we are successfully fighting cough. Well, at least it doesn't hurt.

This drug can only be beneficial if taken in a timely manner. Linkas is capable of nipping a cough in the bud and has proven this more than once. But if the initial stage is missed, use heavier medical artillery such as chemical medicines - syrup alone will no longer be enough.

Do not be fooled by advertising claims that the drug is supposedly completely natural. What's funny is that he is not like that and does not position himself as such. This story was already invented by consumers. In fact, the drug contains chemical components that can cause side effects or allergies. Therefore, carefully consult with your doctor about purchasing it, especially if you are planning to treat a child.

A wonderful tool. The syrup helps a lot with

inflammatory processes caused by cough. It tastes very pleasant, my child really likes it, he even asks for supplements (I, of course, don’t give it!). We have never had any allergic rashes from the syrup components, this is also a big plus. The sputum begins to disappear quickly; if it is not an advanced case, then the cough can be dealt with in the shortest possible time. We forgot about the cough after three days. I am very satisfied with the drug.

Oh, I don’t even know, maybe it will suit someone. I have never been allergic to anything at all in my life. Even diathesis in childhood did not happen. And recently, struggling with a lingering cough, on the advice of a colleague, I started taking Linkas. Literally the very next day after I started taking it, hives broke out all over my body, causing simply painful itching. I stopped taking the syrup and everything went away. I can't say that the product is bad, it just didn't suit me.

Yes, Dina, you are right, the syrup is really wonderful in terms of effectiveness, but the taste is not for everyone. My daughter is 6 years old, she recently caught a cold, she didn’t know what medicine to use for cough, but a friend recommended Linkas because the price is very good, affordable, and the composition of the medicine suits us (there is no hypersensitivity to these components). The effectiveness was justified, however, my daughter did not like the taste, as there was a hint of astringency.
